Samsung Galaxy Note 2 & S3 Android 4.2.2 - Waiting update...

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy range of handsets will be pleased to hear that they are about to be updated to Jelly Bean 4.2.2.
PC Tablets said that the devices getting updated include the Samsung Galaxy Note, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Samsung Galaxy S3. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 along with the Samsung Galaxy S3 should get the update anytime soon, as it was said to be before the end of May. There just happens to be two more days left this month.
SamMobile also backed this up on their Twitter account, when they said that the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will also be getting an update to Key Lime Pie, when it comes out.
“A tweet from a reliable internal source for Samsung related leaks, SamMobile, has confirmed that both Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update is coming by the end of May or in start of June,” said the report.
There is no word on when they might get the update to Jelly Bean 4.2.2, however when they do it could be the last update that these handsets get.
Owners will be pleased to know that the update will bring with it new features along with bug fixes, owners can also look forward to being about the resize apps, change the layout and the colour.

If this was all true we would have leaks of 4.2.2 a long time ago. So far no leaks so I think its a long way off I'm afraid. I am eagerly waiting like everyone else but I don't thin anything official will come yet...........

Where is android 4.2.2 Samsung?!!

I really could do without all the shiny bells and whistles announced,
as long as they FIX THE WIFI BUGS! If not, well.....screw Sammy!

Sometime in Q1/2014. Google changed a lot under the hood in KitKat and Samsung certainly has to rewrite a lot of Touchwiz and S-Pen code to make optimal use of it.

Does anyone know some of the special, or new features kit kat will be coming with?

You're assuming that Google hasn't shared KitKat code with partners before its AOSP debut. Even HTC has said they'll have it out in less than 90 days, which admittedly is Q1 but they tend to be a bit slow. Still, all we're both doing is speculating here, it'll come when it's ready. I would be surprised if it's this month, myself.

HMP i guess would'nt be available on the exynos 5 due to its architecture..

Will be next year before Samung releases it, plus theres so many Note 3 models its gona take them ages to get 4.4 out to variants.
Sony updated the Z1 today with 4.4 - only took them a week!

there are only rumours that suggest the z1 will get 4.4 today BUT it hasnt been released yet... looking at how sammy has already pushed 4 or 5 updates for the n9005 i wouldnt be surprised if we get 4.4. within a month

No way within a month! If samsung achieves that I will be very impressed.
But since it took them 6 months for them to get 4.3 onto the S4, I am not going to hold my breath.
I bet you a 'thanks' if we see 4.4 on note 3 this side of Xmas.

Samsung made it perfectly clear they were not going to update the S4 to 4.3 before the first 4.3 device came out, because it would harm sales.
Since the S5 is still only a rumour, that issue is not currently valid.

LOL since S4 is a flagship smartphone Samsung should look after their premium customers not force to buy their lastest handset to get a firmware update. That is so pathetic!
It's thing like this that is making me dislike samsung more and more everyday.
Wouldn't surprise me if samsung is holding out 4.4 for the S5

If I can find an online store that has the exynos N910U in stock for immediate delivery I would buy it right now. If I can't I will just wait for sd aussie N910G version.

Would be nice if a s5 rom was ported to the Note 4 the features on the s5 compared to this is unbelievable...The Note 4 has all the smart scroll,finger view etc in hidden setting but don't work even when turned on so maybe an s5 style rom might bring the load of missing stuff back...

Oh I thought you ment art (Android) well for writing and art (Mac) is good but for tablet (ipad) I can't tell. I'd go for Windows on that one. Much more convenient and more apps can be used. And you don't have to worry about any damn can't install outside app store. Bullocks stuff is what it is.
But I can't really recommend any good Windows tablet though. that you'll have to look for what suites you.

Device specific updates from 4.0 to 4.1 for specific countries are never ever'going to happen.
A 4.4.1 to 4.4.4 might be country specific but not rather a complete os update. That be unfair foo

Not the 2012 version of the note 10.1. This tablet is ancient and Samsung is more concerned with making money then keeping its loyal customers happy.
They still haven't released kitkat for the N8013! The day it gets lollipop is released for the N8013 is the day Pigs Fly. :silly:
