Hi all,
I'm having a problem, found no solutions until now. Here is the situation:
I have a GT-S5360, it was working fine. Today, the system asked for me to update the software, download it successfully and the phone rebooted. After the update, the phone hangs in boot screen.
I have tried to enter recovery, but the vol - button does not work, so i can go into recovery but cannot navigate to "factory reset".
And for this same reason i can't go into Download mode. Is there any other way to boot into download mode without having the vol - button?
- Additional information:
adb doesn't recognize my phone in recovery. Odin does, but fail to flash because it is not in Download mode...
You can use a USB jig to enter download mode
You can buy one from Amazon for around £3 UK pounds
Plug it into USB port when phone is off to enter download mode
You will still need to press Vol up to start connection

I'm trying to get into recovery mode because I'm stuck on a boot loop, but I can't manage to do it. I've Googled and Googled but the only thing I've managed to find was how to get into download mode, and factory reset. All of the instructions for getting into recovery require you to use adb, but neither adb nor fastboot work for me in any of the modes I've mentioned.
So how can I get into recovery mode (or at least fastboot) without using ADB?
For future reference, since I can't seem to find a single guide out there for this:
Factory Reset Mode
Completely power off phone (hold power button until it resets, keep holding after LG logo shows up to power off)
Hold Vol.Dn + Power until screen powers on
When screen power on, release and hold Vol.Dn+Power again
Downlaod Mode
Completely power off phone (look above)
Hold Vol.Up
Connect USB Cable

the factory reset mode woks without adb, when you get to the mode press power twice to confirm doing a factory reset(it wont actually wipe your phone) and you should get into recovery

Wow thanks. That's a weird process
So even though there is a scary message up that says your phone will be wiped, it doesn't actually happen and you will just go to recovery?
I'm curious about this as well since I heard about people losing data due to this hardware button combination.

What's the difference between the factory reset mode and the download mode? I couldn't get the Factory Reset mode to work so I tried the download mode method and it worked but it took me to a screen that says "Firmware Update: Do not unplug the USB connection until the process is complete"... But it sits at 0%. What should I do?

I think download mode is to restore/update the software through LG's tools in case of corruption or something that doesn't let you get into recovery. I got the same message as you with it being stuck at 0%, but I just held the power button until it turned off. Nothing happened to the phone or my data.
And on the factory reset screen, even though it says it'll wipe everything, it actually won't (at least for me it didn't). It just took me into TWRP (recovery mode). However, if you don't have TWRP installed, then I think it actually will wipe all your data.
I just got an S5 and was trying just to get the wireless tethering for free into my phone. I installed the CWM and booted into that recovery the other day, and did extensive research for a few hours before settling on this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2727127 to try to do it. Since it's a sprint S5 (900p) I downloaded it and everything. However, I went into the clockwork app to boot into recovery (the 5.x.x.x settingwas used) it simply is locked in a cycle of "RECOVERY BOOTING... RECOVER IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING... Set Recovery Bit: recovery" I have tried to get it into the download reboot but key combinations (vol up, home, power) don't seem to have any effect. Also, Kies and adb as well as odin all do not "see" my phone connected to the pc while it loops. Only time loop stops is when the battery is out.
Managed to get it into dowload, and now am put this recovery instead, as it should work under the guide I'm using. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2697762

Please use more paragraphs next time, that was hard to read.
We would need a lot more detail to know what went wrong, but the first thing to try when you have a bootloop is to wipe the system cache from recovery mode
recovery mode: pull battery and any USB cable for 10 seconds
Then replace battery, press and continue to hold volume up + home + power
Let go of the keys when you see the recovery screen.
Wipe cache from the recovery on screen menu
Then reboot normally
If you still cannot boot normally, reboot to download mode again
download mode: pull battery and any USB cable for 10 seconds
Then replace battery, press and continue to hold volume down + home + power
Let go of the keys when you see the download screen.
Use Odin to flash a full stock firmware image..
same version as you have on the phone now (not older) to stabilize your phone.
If you still have problems, those are most likely caused by a borderline USB cable.
Try a different cable and USB port.
.
hes asking for help not asking for a grammer check....
1 thing is very annoying are grammer queens... chill....

Hey guys,
I feel totally stupid for writing this post but I'm actually out of ideas how to get out of my situation. Also I didn't find any comparable topic here on xda. So let's hope you can help me and a big thanks in advance!
First of all i have a flashed D802 running TWRP and CM13, which worked well the last weeks. I thought about updating to the todays nightly as it is already a few weaks since I did my last update. I downloaded the nightly via the CM downloader and started the installation with running phone. It rebooted into recovery mode and installed the nightly without any problems. After the installation was completed the phone automatically rebooted and this is where the problem starts.
I am stuck in "bootloop?" at the CM logo. It is not automatically restarting after a while but just loading and loading and nothing further happens. I am not able to enter the recovery mode via the factory reset (Pressing Vol Down + Power, releasing after the lg logo appears, pressing and holding the power button again).
This never happened to me and as I am not able to enter TWRP I am not able to install a previous release or a backup. What am I doing wrong this time and what can I do?
Thanks for your support!
have you tried flashing a stock rom?

Actually I don't really know how to do this when I'm not able to enter the recovery mode? Is there a certain way to do this?
In the meantime I managed to enter the recovery mode / TWRP via a mode I don't know how it is called. I pressed vol down + pw btn, released after the LG logo appeared and pressed vol up + vol down. I guess my userdata is deleted by now, which shouldn't be a big deal but I am getting redirected to the recovery mode. I tried to install the yet working CM13 nightly but it has the same problems now.
Now I have two questions:
Does anyone know which part of the system is broken now / which part I need to update in order to get my phone back to life?
Is the download mode working if my phone is rooted? I am able to enter this mode.

yes you can enter the download mode: turn down your phone, press and hold volume up button and connect the usb cable, release volume up when your screan shows dowload mode.
then follow this tutorial to restore your phone back to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

Thanks! At least the phone is working at all now.
Hi all
I am not able to boot into recovery mode or download mode. I am fully aware of 3 button combinations to boot into recovery or download. Has anything changed? How do I get into download mode?
The other thing is whenever I restart my device after unlocking the device it say device is restarting for 2 seconds. Is that normal?
S10+ Exynos model unlocked
Edit: The phone not booting into recovery is solved but still I cannot get into download mode directly. I have to go to into recovery then boot to bootloader.

Phone is factory unlocked. By unlocking I mean unlocking the device after a restart(inserting a pin)
Maybe restoring data from Samsung cloud leads to this problem. I had the similar issue on my older galaxy device

To get into Download mode on the S10s - do the same thing we had to do on the Note 9.
Make sure ODIN is Open on your PC and the Phone is off and not plugged into USB Cord yet.
then hold power, vol down and bixby and while holding those three buttons, plug in USB Cord to phone - it will boot into download mode - press vol up and you are ready to use Odin.
If you want to go to recovery - with phone on- press down vol down, bixby and power until screen goes black - keep holding power and bixby and move the other finger to volume up - hold until it boots into Recovery
Hope that helps -
Hey guys, I have a little problem and could need some Help fixing my S10+ (G975F)
What did I do:
- Flashed latest TWRP from TWRP.me + vbmeta
What happened:
- My S10 was stuck in a endless bootloop at the S10 logo, didn't boot to download mode or TWRP and my PC didn't recognize it.
My problem now:
I let the phone in that bootloop over night to let the battery discharge. Next day when it was powered of I tried entering download mode by pressing volume down + bixby and connecting the cable to my pc but the screen was just staying black, after releasing the volume down and bixby key but keeping the cable connected it started with the bootloop again, so right now there i'm out of ideas, I just can't enter the download mode or TWRP.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Best regards, Jan

Did you tried to enter recovery?
And BTW samsung download mode is super strong almost impossible to brick you aren't trying key combination correctly to enter download mode or recovery.
When phone is restarting to enter download mode
Just
Hold bixby, volume down and while holding these, put the usb-c cable in the s10+ when connected to the PC.

If I press bixby and volume down while being connected to PC I just get a blackscreen
What happened when it went to black screen instead of download mode? I mean what its shows in pc?specifically in odin? While on black screen try tu press volume up and to proceed download mode even though there is black screen if then it shows in odin then you can flash stock.
Did you unlock boot loader before flashing twrp? Did you?
any update on that?
