End up back with my good ol CM Browser everytime
Chrome Beta
Opera...cause I like the "word wrap" feature.
The stock and Chrome doesnt word wrap and it buggs the **** out of me.
Any other browsers word wrap??
thanks
I use dolphin for anything requiring a desktop ua and the stock browser for most other things.
Although I have been playing with chrome, opera and Firefox from time to time. I keep coming back to dolphin and stock.

I'm all for bringing back CM browser but please tell, what are the steps and requirements? Already rooted and have a root browser and my last device's CM ROM. What's next?
Edit: Got it: manually copy to /system/app, set permission to root, root, 0644, delete/rename "system/app/BrowserProviderProxy.apk" (& .odex if it applies); in recovery delete cache and dalvik and reboot system.
I mainly use chrome because of the synced browsing and the links that I have on my desktop computer.
There are browsers other than Chrome?
LOL j/k

Chrome, for the sync across my phone, tablet and pc
Dolphin
Dolphin. And it was just updated so jetpack works, which means so does word wrap.
Chrome does what I need. I haven't tried any other browsers in a long time, but they all drove me nuts with some quirk or another.
Please list if your browser does "word wrap"
I use Opera because i cant get Chrome and the stock browsers to word wrap.
thanks
I can't enjoy any browser. My data rates are so slow I can't even get my Google home page to load fast enough.

Past Firefox has sucked hardcore, but now, wow. Its smooth, no chopping zooming out either, it reminds me of the stock galaxy s2 with the bounce effect.
Try it out. Tell me I am wrong
What browser is smoother in your opinion
I'll give it a try, thanks

Dolphin is good in writing, but too unreliable. Tabs didn't load a lot of the time it didn't even show up at all. Had to keep changing the current from desktop to phone just so i could post messages on different sites....the list goes on.
Any way to back up the bookmarks like Dolphin? I installed it when the stock browser was fc-ing on bookmarks and found the import/export feature makes life easier.
People should really give boat browser a chance. Very good speedy browser! :good:
completely agree with boat browser. I don't understand, why is it so low profile, I have tried other popular ones like Opera, Dolphin (& mini), stock, etc, but Boat seems to be the best of the lot
I think dolphin browser hd is really good along with stock s3 browser.

Anyways the only thanks I am giving is to the one who presented us with the new version being out. Thanks OP!
By the way flash is still available for us

For Firefox and Chrome, try loading engadget's desktop site. While loading, try scrolling down. You will see a lot blank white and takes sometime for it to load. Stock loads much faster.

Maxthon is the best browser for Android:good:
lol, these threads are usually annoying, but I'm desperate!
Tried Ocean browser but it's fugly with that grey color scheme (couldn't find a way to change it). It matters to me since I'll be browsing the net a lot.
Dolphin is the one I'm settled with at the moment and so far it's nice.
Will give Opera Beta a try.
Any others people use?

Definitely the best browser. Its android browser. Yes you need root. Once you do its very simple to install. Its the smoothest and does flash full screen videos without issues.
If you don't want to root, naked browser is also very good.
so far I'm loving firefox, it has adblock and it's smoother in flash videos. =D

Works fast (after the V8 Javascript update), and I haven't had it crash yet that I can recall (I do wonder what people are doing to have it crash "repeatedly" though since I haven't had any issues).
AOSP Browser comes in second for me. Anything else isn't an option for me unless it syncs with Google.

Chrome for almost everything. I use the "other devices" feature several times a day. It's great being able to instantly pull up any tab open on the desktop, laptop, tablet, or other phone.
Firefox Beta or Dolphin Beta for stuff that requires flash. Don't really use AOSP browser anymore.

How do you get Dolphin Beta to actually play Flash? for me whenever I try and enable it, Dolphin tells me it's naughty and refuses to let me force-enable it!

I think you have to change some parameter to Ipad, it's on Android I think, sorry but forgot which option is it. Say if it worked!
And switched back to the native browser.
Got extremely sick of abysmal scrolling performance (made me feel like I was using my Touch Pro) and after switching back to stock I now realize how slowly Chrome was loading pages. And a recent bug that resulted in Chrome saving any MP3 with an MPGA extension and stripped ID3 tags for no damn reason.
The only feature I can say I miss is the sharing of open tabs and bookmarks across devices
Can any other browsers sync with desktop Chrome, well, without being Chrome?
I wish I could do that, loved the browser on my galaxy nexus, but chrome sucks
I would get the original browser but idk how to root

as much as i want to be on the bleeding edge, i de-installed that one. using pages like xda and responding got so bad it was basically useless. i dunno what google is doing there. writing a browser is probably harder than writing an OS, but still, the others can do it to some extend, why not el goog.
I use Opera Mobile, works perfectly and syncs with Google (Chrome favourites on the phone). Loads much quicker as downloaded data is beeing compressed and unpacked.

I recently read that in the AOSP browser, all the saved data is in plaintext. Switched to chrome after that.
Maybe im a bit paranoid, but thats ok
A. Chrome because of the syncing.
B. Can I install the old stock browser on unrooted android? I don't use it much but Id like it back for the, even if limited, flash support.

I don't follow what you are saying. Any app that stores passwords locally even encrypted with a key is not secure on rooted devices since all they need is the encryption key. My guess is Google does this on purpose since obfuscation would just make people think it is secure without it actually being secure.

(logic dictates that) An app that stores passwords with an encryption key would not make that key easily available to other apps. Maybe im wrong and even encryption stored passwords are easily accessed. Makes me all the more thankful for PDroid.

Firefox
I have yet to find a browser that allows "tab queue." It's great when I'm looking to open multiple links at once it just queues them up in the notification drawer. That alone has kept me with Firefox. Can't say I use the desktop version of Firefox (I'm a Chrome guy) but on mobile I found Firefox the best for my usage.
+1 for Samsung browser. Has dark mode under accessibility. I use that all the time. Firefox has but it's a add-on. Not sure how safe that is.
I'm using Kiwi which is the closest to Chrome but without the ads. Used Bromite before that but it started to drop frames and lagged, thought I had to go back to Chrome ?
I'm loving Kiki with the address bar at the bottom.
Using Brave (Chromium fork with adblocker and trackers blocked) with DuckDuckGo as search engine. Since I respect privacy and it doesn't give bias results.
Using Brave looks good and plus adblock built in :good: was using chrome beta for long time
