Hi all. I have a question.
Is there a way to stream content to tv via screen mirroring but with locked screen(to spare battery)?
Thank you
There is an app but its a little buggy on note 4: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...by+root&pcampaignid=APPU_ZqNvVIHQPNPuaMHGgegI

Hi.
I recently got my favorite mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005. So far it has been performing fantastically!.
I had a few questions regarding the phone.
1) Does using an S-View Cover have a negative impact on the phone in the long run?
2) I was playing a game and tried to take a screenshot using the regular trick, Power + Homescreen buttons and while playing, I tried it a few times and it didn't work. I had to try the full screen swipe method to get the snap. Is this a problem?
S-view has never caused me any issues system wise, hardware wise without a screen protector it leaves tiny scuffs/small scratches on the screen.
As for the screen shot it's possible that the game blocks it. Could be wrong tho.

One reason I got this tablet was to try miracast. I picked up a Panasonic. Blue ray player that supports miracast. It was easy to configure and works great! I don't know why but was surprised that it sends the sound also.

Isn't this Miracast that requires the screen to be on all the time ?

Yes, it appears that the screen must be on to enable screen mirroring. That is OK for me. I have it on right now with my 50" plasma TV and using my bluetooth keyboard. I just use the tablet kind of like a mouse pad since I don't know how to naviigate to everything with the keyboard.

Hey guys, I saw a video on youtube showing a verizon note 4 using chromecast. The option for screen mirroring was in the menu and he was able to mirror the phone screen onto the tv. I bought a chromecast today but there is no cast screen option. Anyone manage to get cast screen option without root?

Yes I am looking for the same. Found this link http://chromecast.wonderhowto.com/h...rooted-android-device-running-kitkat-0156212/ but don't want to install this app yet.
Thanks for the link, I am going to root in a few days time anyway when I get some free time. Being able to screen cast is really awesome.

Screencast is a must but I'm gonna wait for lollipop to root
Finally rooted in anticipation of sweet rom, screen cast is working really well even when streaming xbmc videos.

So I wanted to ask the rest of you. First of all does chrome cast screen cast work for you? For me it freezes my phone's screen leaving me with no choice but force reboot it. Is there a fix for that? And my second question is do you know if there is a way to get face unlock on our device?

Hello. I know Samsung dropped support for MHL supposedly so people wanting to use their phones on their TVs could just buy Samsung TVs and cast their screens over using adapters. First of all, that's so lame, second of all there has to be another way to cast my phone on my 60inch (not a Samsung, a Sony) without having to hack a Chromecast or Fire adapter. With my Sony z3 I had a mhl cable, I could connect my Bluetooth controller and play NBA Jam on my TV. Does anyone else know another way to do this on the s7?

Why would you need to hack a chromecast?

It was poor sarcasm i guess. I didn't literally mean hack a chromcast....
The Chromecast app has native support for casting your entire phone screen to a Chromecast. As long as your internet connection is solid, there will be little to no lag. It was an experimental feature for a while, but has seen much refinement.
Also if you have a smart tv there almost always is a screen cast option just they all use different names for the method
