Hi, how can I add shortuts options to my app? (see screenshot)
App has currently 2 buttons so I would like have only 2 shortcuts and then remove all GUI - both buttons and whole activity (if possible).
Thanks

You need an app called home++ (get it from the android store)
No, the application menu is alphabetically ordered and cannot be changed, yet.
Or HelixLauncher for Donut.... The application menu on Android devices is fixed alphabetically..

I've used Helix Launcher on other Android phones. On the X10 I can't get it in the Market. It doesn't turn up on searches.
hello all
have a look at the attached screenshot. i decreased the screensize (smaller). now i can just use the space like for the standard screensize. i tried some apps already but with no app i can use the full space
i prefer have rather 1 home screen with all what i want as having 5 home screens
any hints so far
thanks
Try Launcher Pro from the app store to change from the default home launcher...in the options you can specify how many columns and rows your home screen(s) have, so that you can fill up all that unused space with icons if you wish.
You can't fill it because the launcher doesn't think they're there. The stock launcher is 5x5. Decreasing the density doesn't give you more rows&columns.

hello ovigt
thank you for the name of the software.
i will try it
i found awd launcher yesterday. and it fulfill the wishes
as you can see in the screen 8x6 icons. if i place a bigger icon (like the watch - 2 icon size) it still allow me to put some next to it.
do they have a trial version ?
i mean - the 1.8 are not the problem - if that tool is what i am looking for. it needs to be smooth with movements, not a battery killer and easy to handle.
thank you
1} Click on Power Control Widget to show on home screen
(It'll will pop out without any icon)
2} Drag down notification bar and click on GPS icon, u'll see de Control Widget
with icon.
Hope it helps~
Cheers~
WTH are you talking about?

Talking about The power control widget. If u add it The iconen are invisible. With this method u can see them again

If anyone use rom that has AppWidgetPicker.apk (app that group widget when you add widget to homescreen), you will experience no icon when you add the power widget. Oceangreen's method is use to fix that bug.
Thats like saying long press on the screen to place widgets on the homescreen.
Very useful information - sticky this

lololololololol
Thanks, it works.
I have Simply Honey 3.1 ROM installed and its an issue that the powercontrol widget doesn't show any icons. I tried this and there it was! The powercontrol widget icons are back!
This is what i did.
1. Added the powercontrol widget to the desktop. (no icons are appeared, only the empty boxes)
2. I pulled down the notifications bar, and enabled GPS toggle. Voila! the powercontrol widget's icon all appeared.
3. I turned off GPS in the powercontrol widget. (all the powercontrol widget's icon, remained)
Yeah it worked! Some custom roms or badly upgraded roms tend to have invisible icons in power control widget. Please state that in the first post so that users wont get confused
Kool, worked like a charm

No it's describing a workaround for a bug.
What you've described is a feature.
A bug is the opposite of a feature. In other words you couldn't be more wrong.
I wonder if someone can help me replace the recent apps menu button for the settings button (3 dot menu) like how it is done on the one X, also is there a way to remove the widgets section on the app drawer.
Thanks and please .

You can flash a ROM (I use AOKP and it has this) that has settings for manipulating the Navigation Bar.

Well, you can always try out a different launcher. The closest I can think of that mimics stock the best is Nova Launcher and it can remove the Widgets menu (I forgot if you have to pay for the Prime version to do this.)

Was just sitting around looking for the same thing? Used it to have direct links to my Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings.
found a work around for this...
Things you'll need.
1. Photos of the settings widget you'd like to add to your home screen. ( You might not need this depending on what setting or settings your wanting to use.)
2. Apex launcher.
3. Desktop visualizer.
After installing both applications open desktop visualizer and proceed loading the setting image that you'd like.
Once done you'll be prompted to select an action you'd like to correspond with the image. Select other then select apex actions, should be at the top of the list.
Scroll all the way down to the S category and select settings, should read 247 options, if not your at the wrong settings.
Select your desired function and your all set.
You can uninstall both applications. This won't effect any functionality.
Hope this helps and drop me line if it does.
.....
I am looking for this and I guess my question to you sherrouse is, why do I need photos and desktop visualizer? Can't Apex Launcher add a widget for any setting I want with some stock images and just work?

Unfortunately, I don't think apex launcher can create widgets that can be utilized by Touch wiz home. However the process might work if you intend to replace T.w home with apex as you daily launcher...

Just tried quickshortcut. It works pretty darn good. Created a location setting shortcut just like I wanted.
Thanks.
