Caller ID via Phone Vibrate/"Morse Code"?

The idea is that I often want to know who is calling even if I can't hear the ringer or have it on mute. I wanted to assign a few "code vibrations" to a few certain callers from the caller ID. For example, work would be a 3 long vibrations, my girlfriend would be two shorts then a pause then two shorts again. Etc, etc.
I started this project as a SKSchema script but never finished it then lost the source after a hard reset (stupid, stupid). The biggest issue with the script was that I had it set to run from a watch (phone ring). Every time the phone rang it would start the script again, instead of running only after the first ring. I hope that made sense.
Anyway, I have no time to finish this so I thought I'd put the idea out into the wild and see if anyone is interested in making it work.

[Q] Speakers noy working

Are you on the stock ROM?

G2 Switching Itself From Silent to Loud Automatically

I am one of those people who always has their phone on silent mode only (no vibrate, no sounds, nothing) as I just rely on the LED notification. Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed that when I wake up in the morning my phone is always on loud, noticeable straight away by the little jingle it plays when you unlock the phone. As I never have sounds on, this was instantly noticeable.
After a couple of days I had discovered that at 7:00am every morning my phone would automatically switch itself from being on silent to loud.
I have never ever used the quiet mode scheduling or anything similar with apps or anything else like that so I have no idea where this has come from. I have checked recently downloaded apps and none of them seem to be in the category that would need access to or change sound profiles.
I have a Three UK handset on the latest software 4.4.2 (D80220d-234-20).
To my surprise I can’t really find anything anywhere with people having the same issue so I’m a bit stuck as to what to even try now? Any one got any experience or ideas?
Will make a sort of wild guess as the timing seems right: are you running Google Now? While I do love being able to say "OK Google" from everywhere, it's been causing -- or at least I think it has -- inconsistent issues with my alarm and profile volumes not where I expect it to be and possibly conflicts with some 3rd party apps (Light Flow). For instance, I have sometimes found that a daytime alarm I had set (manually, not via Google Now) didn't go off -- YET when I look at the notification bar, it shows as if I had snoozed it... yet I did not.
Recently, it seems like Light Flow was acting up (I know they had a July 11 update that is being blamed as less than perfect). However, I decided to disable OK Google voice from my launcher (Nova) and from Everywhere activation and everything seems to have returned to normal.
i have the same problem with my phone G pro lite dual after updating my software
This has been happening to me aswell since an update in November. I have never used the silent mode function, it is defibitely turned off, but my phone changes from silent to loud every day at 6am. I have seen numerous posts about it but no resolutions?

[Q] 5.0 Likes to Randomly Get out of Silent/Vibrate Mode By Itself... UNACCEPTABLE!

I am so pissed off that I took the OTA!
I absolutely MUST be on vibrate mode during working hours. I used to use two apps (Volume Toggle and Volume Timer) that gave me exactly what I needed... for all my f'n Android phones up to this point.
Now.. all of a sudden.. RANDOMLY throughout the damn day, my S5 will change itself to full f'n volume for no reason. I sometimes hear a noise similar to when I get a txt msg but I don't recognize the particular noise....I can't have this crap going off when I'm at work. What the hell did they do in 5.0?
I tried another app called Smarter Profiles, but the same thing happens.. I start my day in vibrate mode and then randomly I hear some click sound and it goes into regular mode.
I see nothing in the new priority mode whatever-the-hell that would impact my settings. 8am -> go to vibrate.. 6pm -> go back to normal.. it's not rocket science. Ugh.

Does anyone else have the same issue? I love having a simple sound profile like this and I have used this capability for years!

Google really messed up the whole silent/vibrate/volume thing big time. None of the notification state management apps have a handle on it yet. I use timeriffic and i have the same issues. I would imagine that the developers of apps should have been more prepared for this as none of them fully support lolliflop yet. Debating on going back to KK just for this reason. Googles stab at the "Impotant" feature is totally half baked and useless. I mean who has the brilliant idea that setting the phone to mute cancels ALL notifications including led function! Pure genius!
Have you tried Tasker? I haven't updated to L yet (waiting for the forthcoming xposed update), but I have a number of work/school volume profiles that keep everything running smooth automatically. If Tasker is as much of a beast on L as it is on KK, it might do the trick for you until Google releases a patch.

Notifications on watch vs phone

Have Wear notifications changed recently, maybe with the Marshmallow update?
I always have my phone on silent and rely on my Watch to alert me to notifications (particular if my phone is plugged in charging on a flat surface).
Now when my phone is on mute, I don't get notifications at all on my watch (Zenwatch), when I check the watch, notifications are set to 'None'. If I change this to 'All', I get notifications again, but this switches my phone (HTC M8) to full sound notifications, not what I want!
Am I just behind the curve here with how this works now, or does it sound like there's an issue with my paired phone & watch? I use Zenwatch Manager too if that causes any issues.
Thx
I'm having the same issue... The mute alerts and calls function in Android Wear setting doesn't do anything. The phone still rings/vibrates along with my watch, which is annoying. Did this feature break with the MM update?
Sent from my ONE A2005 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Well the good news is that I fixed this. Bad news: it fixed itself when I got a new phone (Galaxy S7 Edge, already on MM). So my guess is that it was some weirdness with phones upgraded to MM because the watch etc is the same, just different device it's connecting to now. I had previously tried everything on the old phone (re-installing Zenwatch Manager, factory settings on Watch etc).
I have a htc m8, had similar issue. If I set phone to vibrate then set the switch in android wear app to mute phone notifications when connected to watch it works. It just doesn't stick on a phone reboot so I have to go back into wear app each time and turn that setting off then back on again in the wear app on the phone then it works.
What I do is setting the notification sound to none via tasker when my watch is connected to the phone.
This way my phone is totally silent. When setting notification volume to 0, it starts vibrating. My phone vibrates nearly as loud as the notification sound when placed on a table...
