I've searched and can't find anything. I've installed multiple apps to help figure it out, but it never gets better. The pics say it all... what the hell is going on? I have flashed multiple ROMs and it never gets better. And yes, I wipe and do a clean install every time. This event6/irq thing is killing me. The phone never goes into deep sleep.

@strodda there are maybe more wcd9xxx-irq related things but if you read this file
https://android.googlesource.com/ke...ffe023c1290de57c699/drivers/mfd/wcd9xxx-irq.c
which is also getting used for compiling then you will read also about PM_locks wakelocks. I also believe that it's getting used for some audio related things but I am not sure and I am too tired to find it out. I don't know or it's normal cause I never use any other app to see what apps were the most intensive for the battery then the included feature in settings.
If you have any audio mods, I suggest to turn them off/turn them a bit down since setting audio quality high on viper4android or some other sound mods are asking for alot of cpu usage, just like on games.
I also suggest to try Dorimanx Kernel or some other kernel in the development forum.

So I've been experiencing some very bad battery life ever since i got this phone. I get between 5-7 hours of battery life with an average of 3 hours of on screen time. I do use a lot of Spotify, Bluetooth and Instagram. Instagram makes my phone feel hot quickly. Like its using a lot of CPU. I've also noticed i got a few wakelocks. Any help? Anyone got any tips? I don't feel like deleting Instagram neither lol

I also have Instagram Greenified. If i didn't manually close Instagram before shutting the screen off, it would keep running in the background and keep my phone hot.
This might sound stupid, but it worked for me before, but have you tried just restarting the phone? One time I was getting terrible battery life over several battery cycles and doesn't know how to get rid of the wakelock so I restarted my phone and next cycles were a lot better. It might just be a "band-aid" for the real problem, but it might help some.
So I've been getting some pretty abysmal battery life so far. Running out of ideas of what to do!

I've done a full factory reset, which made no difference. And the screenshots above were taken with location services completely disabled! Any suggestions?
There's quite a lot of wakelock time from Android OS and Android System, but would that really be enough to cause this much drain? Then there's the problem of actually finding a way to stop it. It's just annoying as otherwise this is a fantastic phone, and I really want to like it, but this is just putting me off.
I think it might good idea install a Wake-lock detector app to whats happening also check this thread

Thanks, I've been taking a look through that thread but haven't found anything specific just yet.
As for a wakelock detector, I'm not rooted just yet, so there's very minimal information I can actually get annoyingly.
After the whole superfish spyware scandal with Lenovo I'm curious what you guys think about this runtime from lenovo which came preinstalled on my ZUK. It basically has full device access. I tried freezing it but it keeps on running in the background. The app name is Runin-Main (com.lenovo.runtime).
Anyone did a deeper analysis of this app on and what it does?
I froze it with Titanium Backup and it stuck.
Actually on a reboot even with the files disabled, I think the start because the force close option is there, but they stay off until you reboot again.
I have the same doubt about it, also because looks really aggressive on battery drain.

Here more details.
Maybe some kind of testing/benchmarking tools?
Looks suspicious.
Same problem here, this com.lenovo.runtime is taking a lot of battery, what is it exactly? Anyone else tried to froze it or delete?
This process is only on Cyanogen OS? not on CyanogenMod?
Not showing up in my battery stats. I came across this too. It's harmless you can get to it with a button combination too. It's an engineer test. Try freezing them.
Sometimes it appears, sometimes not, is it the same on CM12.1 or only on COS12.1?
It takes a lot of battery.
This only comes preinstalled with COS12.1
I did clean cache after update. The sd card notification never show up after that. Seem like the problem has been solved. Also battery seems to be much more stable compare to before. I don't use disabler only disable the one I can from application manager in the setting. (It seems like I can disable pre-loaded facebook now. I'm not sure if I missed it before or Samsung just allowed to disable it from application manger after the update. GPS is high accuracy, I don't turn down brightness nor change to black theme. Bluetooth and Wifi always turn on, it's typical behavior of normal user. Also I listen to a lot of music so not a lot of screen on time.

Looks good. Hope the other carriers will roll theirs out soon.

With Android System at 18%, I don't think the fundamental problem has been solved. Maybe some other optimizations, but the main drainer is still there. I think the SD820 is just a flop regarding power efficiency, also judging from the other SD820 flagships (except Xiaomi MI 5).
Currently running stock 8.0 most recent firmware. Most I can possibly squeeze out is 2.5 hours of SOT with AOD enabled and about 50% screen brightness.
One other issue unrelated is that I simply can not get OEM unlocking to show up in dev options. I have updated manually with the update.zip to the newest firmware and waited multiple weeks and it still hasn't shown up. Not sure if this has anything to do with my horrible battery life. You may say that it seems normal but my battery is supposedly at 89% life and is only lasting until around 5pm, which I'm sure is not the case for most of you.
Relevant screenshots attached. Any help is appreciated!

The latest update seems to have caused this. Mine was affected too, but found a hard reset and careful managing of apps has helped. But still not as good as battery life on Nougat. Hoping the October patch will fix this....whenever that gets released.
I don't know why this is happening to some, but here i can't complain about anything... I am using it like before with all the apps that i have. I even didn't turn off the apps monitor etc.
i dont even use my phone like i used to, and its battery is crappy now ): guess i need to factory reset it so it can be lit as before
