d802, Rooted, OTO App update recieved today, stuck in bootloop to TWRP - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I stupidly ran the latest OTO application update for my LG G2 d802 on KitKat today, and now it bootloops to TWRP (that was installed with autorec)
How do I recover from this please?

This helps
I had the same this is the fix for it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/fix-stuck-custom-recovery-trying-ota-t2907508

Thank you.
I found this other solution in the noob friendly help thread which helped recover from my specific situation with less hassle:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56853046&postcount=4123
(Although he had a capital letter wrong, which I fixed in the quote below)
I could get out of the bootloop by Advanced, then Terminal Command, press Select, use this code,
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
Click to collapse
At first, the terminal seemed to show an error after the operation ("not enough space"), but it did fix it none the less and the phone rebooted normally again.

[Q] Help :( escape twrp back to factory

Hi all,
I just recived my sprint lg g2, i was asked whether to update the system to the sprint network, being a mistake i clicked yes. Im in new zealand so i thought it wouldnt matter. Bad mistake and it took me to the twrp menu... I simply wanted to restore the phone back to factory settings or just return to how it was before. (I had no idea that twpr was installed on ge phone to begin with)
However i cant seem to figure it out. Ive backed it up not that that really matters, but when i go to reboot system it says
"your device does not appear to be rooted, install supersu now? This will root your device".
I swipe and it reboots simply back to twrp... How do i escape this?
Thank you so much
Someone please help me
I do not know what to do... When i go into the restore folder there are no files. Does this mesn i have turned the phone into a brick?
Before there were two files in the restore section niw they have disappeared! I have not connected this phone to a computer... I am really upset because all i simply did was allow sprint to update the phone and it is not connected to any network! Eifi only......
I just want to get out of the twrp and go back to how the phone was when i recieved it, is it possible? Please help me

ok thank you!
so it came up with this:
finished running boot script.
E:Storage partition '//TWRP/BACKUPS/04816da2910e8952' not found
then the above command dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota completed with 'no space left on device'
Somehow it seems the backup has been deleted.... I must have done this somehow trying to reboot.
What should I do next? thanks!!
This is what came back to be precise:
Finished running boot script.
E:Storage partition '//TWRP/BACKUPS/04816da2910e8952' not found
/ # dd if=/dev/zero of=dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota

[Q] Is it possible to repair my installation post official updating?

So I did a number on my phone in a half asleep stupor I allowed an official update to go through while running a custom recovery and debloated kitkat. I can't believe I did this to myself. Is there anyway to repair the installation other than wiping the phone again? It was one of those mini updates, but now I boot straight to recovery instead of the operating system.
I am in the same boat you are man. I hit update now instead of later and the phone reboot into recovery and won't boot the ROM. I tried restoring a previous backup with no luck. I'm on a rooted stock ROM running twrp 2.7. Hope someone can shed some light on this.
I found an answer!

Here is the thread:
[FIX] Installed TWRP and now you're stuck after OTA?
So here is what you do:
1) Boot into recovery (TWRP)
2) Go to Advanced and then Terminal Command
3) VERY CAREFULLY TYPE IN EXACTLY THIS:
"dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota" then RETURN
"dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc" then RETURN
Reboot and it should have fixed it up for you.

I have the same issue with the simulating actions message. I cannot get this device unbricked I seriously need someone to help me out.
To answer your question, you click select at the bottom right to enter terminal.
EDIT: I found the resolution. Executed the command via adb after UNINSTALLING all lg drivers. Hope that helps anyone out in the future. Device is unbricked.
didnt work
I did as the thread outlined and now all thats on my phone is the LG logo while my led indicator goes from blue to green repeatedly. PLEASE help.
When to use the reboot code?
I've managed to install TWRP and flash a rom, but once reboot my phone normally I'm still stuck with the LG logo on the screen, and can't acceess the OS. Should I run the reboot code through adb as soon as I've installed the rom, and use that to reboot my phone instead of simply pressing "reboot" on the screen after the rom is installed. Thanks for your help - LG G2 / D802

I'm getting this same issue. I was on stock, rooted, then got the OTA. I clicked update, not knowing there would be an issue.
After the update restarted, the phone went straight into TWRP, and I can't get out!
I tried this fix here, but this "fota" command is giving me a "no space left" error. I'm stuck in TWRP. I can't reboot into the OS! I've even tried flashing a new ROM, but I still can't reboot to the OS.
Help!

T-Mobile D801 rooted, stock ROM.
Stuck in boot loop after Dec. 01, 2014 OTA update
Followed your instructions and it did not help until I also ran the following
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
Please update original post.
Found the extra command here:
forums.androidcentral.com/general-help-how/373947-bricked-lg-g2-stuck-twrp-no-download-mode.html
So theres no harm in doing it through the terminal command in TWRP on thephone itsf?
I'd much rather do that method

Stuck in bootloop
Hello all, I have a rooted vs980, that my sister accepted an ota without my knowledge. Since then, I can boot into TWRP, download mode and when the phone is booted regularly, it is either stuck at the lg logo or bootloops. Also, my computer doesn't read the device while it's in download mode. I've tried the twrp commands, I've attempted to sideload another rom, but due to that, I've lost adb. If anyone could help me out, it'd be great. I dropped my oneplus this weekend and I'm not forced to use a slider lol.

[Q] TWRP Boot Loop .?.

Well, AT&T got me this time, somehow the OTA apparently auto ran a batch file, Forced a reboot to what the phone thought was stock recovery to do the OTA, WHOOPS " TEAM WIN IS NOT STOCK RECOVERY "
And now, yes you know it, every time I choose to reboot to System in twrp. It boots right back into twrp, YaY . Now I really Like team win and all, but I would also like to be able to boot back into the system style, but i don't think it is possible .?.
This is my Question, Can I ADB the Boot to recovery Flag out , remove the command .?. or something like so .?.
....A little insight, I already took the OTA before, when it actually asked me if I wanted too .?. I don't know where that option was this time ? Anyway when I took the OTA before I was only rooted. No custom recovery, And did not know it was going to be Lollipop , and also that I was going to lose some of the G2 features. YaY again So......with help from some of my friends, listed in my signature , I returned my G2 back to Kit-Kat D80020y , but this time the OTA was Forced and I have twrp v. 2.7.0.0 installed, so yeap, this is probably known as Soft Brick. YaY
If I should just go Cloudy , let me know. I almost did it last month.
*JUST FYI IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU, POWER YOUR DEVICE OFF INSIDE TWRP , IT IS IN THE REBOOT MENU * DON'T LET THE BATTERY DRAIN IN RECOVERY *
FOUND IT ! , MOST SIMPLE STEPS EVER TO FIX THIS PROBLEM
On your TWRP terminal command type this code ( select root / )
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter
( backspace to delete fota then type misc )
type
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
now where is that reject anymore OTA's at ? because it still wants to do the ota.
How to Reject future OTA ???

Manual Update from March 7 2018 build to March 14 2018.
Hey guys! I got this update recently and i wanted to install it manually after being unable to update automatically from the installer. So, i flashed the update file and everything was fine until the first 3-4 minutes but then i realized that my phone got into a bootlool.
Things I've tried,
1. Wiped Dalvik Cache and other cache from recovery.
2. Tried reinstalling the same file hoping it would save me.
3. Googled about it and found a guy named Karmicks giving the terminal code for exiting the loop. Still no luck!
I was on Nextbit Robin Lineage OS 14.1 Nightly ether build March 7 2018 before flashing.
It's my only device. I need help in getting it out of bootloop without any data loss ( exception if it's a serious case ).
Kindly let me know if you've got anything that can help me. Email me at "[email protected]"
