It will yes. How did you originally unlock your S3?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
If you are referring to your phone being network locked, then it makes sense that an ota would lock your phone back to the network the ota is from. This would most likely happen with each ota you do.
I THINK there is a way to change a setting on your phone (I may be wrong but I think it's referred to as the CSC) to set where your phone is from (network/country), but this does wipe your phone. No I do not remember how to change this, but I seem to remember doing this on my old galaxy note, so look through the forums there to start.

This is gotta be at&t's fault no? lol I have t-mobile, it's for a friends s4. he's stuck on mf3
AT&T and Verizon have locked down bootloaders. When the OTA install starts, it blows a Qfuse making it impossible 'at this time' to downgrade back to a previous build.

So I couldn't use Odin to flash an earlier version of the baseband to also root, and stop myself from upgrading to mf3 again?

No. The bootloader is locked, and does not allow downgrade. Once you are on mf3, there is no going back.
No. It is impossible to downgrade anything. Read up on it. There is more in depth stuff than what I said. As of now, there is no way to downgrade, install a custom recovery, flash a rom, use Odin, etc. Only root is possible.

I was really thinking about rooting because i wanted to install this audio mod for music. That's really the only thing I wanna do. Also, to get rid of some bloat ware. But I still have very good battery
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Root is possible, but if you mess something up, you may not be able to fix it until we get an Odin flushable MF3.be very careful with it.

If anything goes wrong with installing the mod you may be screwed. Also, saying you want to "get rid" of bloatware leads me to believe you want to delete. Don't, just freeze them.
I would wait--

Keep your eye on this app called Safestrap by Hashcode. It's being developed for Verizon S4 but most likely will work on AT&T's as well. Read more on what it is and other cool things about it here, be sure to read thoroughly so you fully understand what it does haha.

I'm on MF3 as well and I know how you feel. At least we can root.

If you can't be bothered doing a search don't bother rooting the phone.
Seriously, don't. You will just wreck it. It requires patience and a lot of reading.

Nice to know it boots up. You could have backed up and restored APNs to get data to work.
