Hello everyone, I received my new Galaxy about a week ago and I found out that the re-sacnning of wifi signals is really slow.
I installed Wifi analizer app, and it gets samples every 6 seconds aprox, even when i change the configuration to 1 second.
This problem repaets on my app that I use to scan every second, and on a HTC desire works perfect and on the Tab takes a lot longer to scan the wifi.
Thanks very much for your help

Hi,
Just bought this crazy SGS4. Everything works very great (exepect Tasker doesn't reconize my ROOT when Titanium do...)
I have only one big trouble Internet stuff (as play store, browser...) load data only when connecting to H+
So when I open anything i have to wait H+ connection (1 second to 6 seconds sometimes) then when it's loaded it goes back to H and between every click i have to wait it to connect to H+...
Any idea, fix ?

i used to have this problem on my galaxy note, i disabled some setting in the developer menus, the ones where you have to type in a secret code into the phone app. I disabled something to do with hspa but can't remember what the setting was but it did the trick, im on vodafone uk
I found any of those settings in devs settings.
The Idea is good switch to H when it's not in use (to prevent battery life) but not a second after the loading and sometimes during the loading that makes impossible to load the page...
Moreover it's strange I can't load any page with H because it shloud work
If you are rooted, try to disable fast dormancy. I had unstable data connection on my note 2,which constantly switches between H+/H/3g because my carrier does not support fast dormancy. The fast dormancy app works well on galaxy s4 aswell.

Yes rooted.
Thank you for the tip. It appears to be better. I will make some search about fast dormancy I didn't know this before you tell me.
I keep you in touch
hy guys, i'm an italian user, same problem on my new galaxy s4 white. i didn't get it in my phones (S3, S2, Note2), but in this S4 is terrible, because it takes many seconds to connect to various app.....
i've called the Samsung support, they tell me to try to put it in Safe Mode for some days by clicking many times the button menu, but i can't put it in that way...
have you found any solution for fast dormacy mode?
thanks
On my Galaxy Note 3, when at home I am connected to my WIFI. When I leave the house or switch off my WIFI the phone seems unable to connect to the network (in this case Three) and the browser, email and any other data apps state they cannot connect to the Internet.
The only way to resolve it is to switch on Flight Mode and then turn it off again. I saw a comment in the reviews for the Note 3's keyboard fix that one other person is experiencing the same as me.
Is anyone else having this problem and do you know of a permanent fix? The only info I can find is a similar issue on the Note 2 at time of launch which look to have been corrected by a patch.
i have this problem so i flashed h3g uk firmware and it kept failing, so i flashed back to uk btu firmware and im stuck with the exact same problem. no idea how to fix either,
p.s my problem only seems to be with google now, play store and sometimes on any app that uses internet i get news feed error no connection ect..
I am on Three network and mine works OK.

Solution
I think I have found a work around to this annoying problem. It was losing the ability to use any data when I left a WIFI spot I was connected to, or when out and about and the phone picked up an open WIFI spot. None of the WIFI advanced options made any difference. It would affect 3G data too, I'd lose all data access until I toggled Flight mode off & on...that was the only way I could get it working again other than restart the phone.
I found a post about a similar issue with the Note 2 when it was first released and it mentioned a WIFI power saving mode. It turns out you can get to this from the SeviceMode screen by dialing this number *#0011# (ServiceMode will start as soon as you enter the second #) - assume it is the same for all. Once in ServiceMode, tap the menu button and chose WIFI. You will then see a WIFI Power Save Mode label with a button underneath. Tap the button to set it to OFF.
I've been testing this all day, normally I'd lose data at least three times, sometimes more, while travelling but so far today everything has worked flawlessly ... no loss of data connectivity. From what I have been reading, switching off power save mode does not affect battery life despite what you might think and I've not noticed any unusual battery drain today so far. So if you are experiencing the same annoying loss of data, try this before you take your phone back. Hopefully this is a software issue that will be fixed in the future.
I swapped the phone
Hi,
I had something similar, except it wasnt wifi related, it happened after I lost the signal for a while (eg, in a lift/elevator).
I tried a new simcard, and that didnt help (also Three UK).
Then I got the handset swapped for a new one at carphonewarehouse, and it fixed the issue, so I put it down to a lemon unit.
cheers
George
on my s4 and n3 i did more than 10 tests each on wifi and 3g with phones simultaeneously, both on same network, both held in my either hands, both using speedtest both connecting to same server, both on the three network sims on the one plan with unlimited internet including tethering (both pans in my name), same location, same times tests were done.
both on 3g and wifi the n3 is MUCH MUCH slower than the s4 both on three network and same wifi
********************* on wifi on 3G
S4 PING TIME 32 to 173 66 to 86
N3 Ping Time 30 - 37 73 to 1110
S4 upload speeds 8 to 17.79mbps 1.65 to 2.27
N3 upload speeds 7.11 to 12.58 1.74 to 3.77
s4 download speeds 17.79 to 22.38 6.61 tp 7.68
N3 download speeds 7.93 to 12.58 mbps 0.92 to 8.04
the numbers are not just it, even during speed tests i was losing wifi connection on the N3 a couple of times and see the same happening on streaming youtube where it keeps stalling on wifi unlike the s4. surely there is something wrong with the hardware of firmware
Looks like the WIFI setting only helped and it has not solved my problem. l now lose network data connection less often when leaving a wifi zone but it still happens. More worryingly on two occasions now I have lost all access to three including calls, texts and data. Toggling Airplane mode brings everything back to life but this makes the service unreliable.
Sometime I also have this problem. This is similar to when I went overseas, I turned off the data roaming, but it always unable to connect to data when I returned. Usually I have to reboot it.

Just got this alert as it was in my spam box hence the late reply.
Had done this comparison video of the note 3 versus nexus 5 WiFi speeds on same router and nexus 5 was giving speeds of up to 50 Mbps and the Samsung galaxy note 3 was giving 0.5mbps plus drop outs! See video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-XvFPwTAGA
The router works fine with my 3 nexus 7 tablets, 3 Tegra note 7 tablets, Samsung galaxy note (original), 2x android mini PC, 2x smart TV's from Sony and LG, 2x smart bluray players from Sony and LG, laptop, smart camera from Samsung, Panasonic stranger, my NAS drives, 2x old HTC desire phones, a few other old phones from Sony and Nokia and media player from samsung and archos, the only device that ever had a problem with any Router is this Samsung galaxy note 3.
Main problem happens when there are open WiFi networks around our you have selected the auto detect in settings. Here is the solution https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjL8JbSQCvw and now I get 50mbps with same phone and router! So it was **** Samsung software to blame!
Now I have triple sim adapter in phone and all three give me 3g signal in Many areas.

I have a Note 3 and this always happens to me when I return from travel overseas. I turn off mobile data and data roaming and use Wifi, but am never able to reconnect when I return. The first time I fixed this by rebooting. This time I tried restarting my phone, removing the battery, turning off Wifi Power Saving Mode by dialing *#0011#. Fortunately I was able to fix the problem simply by toggling Airplane mode without having to reboot. Hope this helps.

Dear People,
I just bought a Sony Cybershot module DSC-QX10 because I heard you can connect any android phones to it but I was trying to connect to my Note 3 and didn't work... Cannot just connect them together... Anybody can help with it? Please...
Thank you in advance...
I can't help, but I'm interested if you get it to work. I thought about buying the QX10
No problems here. Works like a charm. Just enable NFC on your Note. Tap the part of the lens with the NFC logo against the back of the Note. This will launch the Play Store app and will ask you to install PlayMemories Mobile. Install it and open it. When PlayMemories Mobile connects to your lens for the first time it will ask for a password. You can find it on a sticker in the battery compartment. Alternatively, just tap the NFC logo of the lens to the back of the Note while PlayMemories is open. This will connect the lens automatically

I've just bougth the QX10 and try to use it with my Note 3
Connection between both is not possible, either trying NFC or Wifi. I've alway an error after a few minutes of trying to connect.
In Playmemeories, the QX10 is always found but connection always fail.
Trying to connect the QX10 with a galaxy Note 10.1 give an other connection problem as the QX10 is only connected one second before losing connection, idem for the Note 2.
A Nexus 7 connection work perfetly.
As we can exepct, nor SONY or SAMSUNG want help, both support telling me to contatc the other....

:fingers-crossed: Just found the connection problem on most devices.
In some Samsung Models like the Note 3 ther's aan item usualy on by default
Autoswitch between wifi and mobile, if enabled, tthe connection between the note and the QX10 can't be done du to the auto switch to mobile as the connection is not for internet use.
If the autoswitch, is disabled, the connection work.
Will look if the problème is the same on the Note 10.1.
Thanks alot!! Now it's working!!

Could you physically attach the DSC-QX10 to your Note 3 finally?
Hi, I am planning to buy a Sony DSC-QX10 lens. I use a Samsung Note 3. Its width is slightly more than the maximum recommended one for use with the QX10. Did you manage to physically connect the clamps of the lens to your Note 3 phone?

Hi,
Does anyone know if download booster feature on the Note 4 helps improve streaming performance?
I have poor home wifi speeds and average 3g speeds, im hoping that a combination will enable me to stream videos better.
Thanks,
Sam
Probably not and you'd suffer a lot more random drop outs, plus you'd have to have enough mobile data to back up your Wi-Fi connection. Upgrade your home DSL instead.
Note 4 download booster
Actually i got the download booster working great on the note 3 with no issues. I also found our in the note 4 but it doesn't seem to work. ..but then again i have been having problems with my phone so I'm bringing it back for a new one. ...and no they're isn't any dropped connections or lack of Datta in less you don't have any. ..it works awesome when you have it.
