I've done everything, but can't get boot logo of PA custom rom.

It feels like I've done everything, and now I come for help.
Right now I'm flashing the stock ROM back onto my N7 for the 5th time because every time I try to flash PA it seems to get stuck in a boot loop. And this somehow corrupts my recovery so I have to go all the way back and start from scratch.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong:
I start with an out of the box N7.
I unlocked the boot loader.
Root my device.
Flash CWM 6.0.1.0 recovery.
Download busybox from Google Play and install it.
Copy PA's ROM to my /sdcard.
reboot to recovery.
Flash the PA rom.
Bootloops ensue, recovery corrupts, and I'm back to square one.
I've been at this for hours trying different ways of doing it, but need some help. Am I forgetting anything?

Did you full-wipe?
Happened to me last time, from stock to other custom ROM(cm10), also caused bootloop but resolved after doing full-wipe.

Wipe data factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik cache, install rom, flash gapps and reboot.

defintely just need to wipe
Hold down power and volume +/- at boot. Use volume down to select recovery, hit power as enter. Select factory data reset. Might as well wipe cache while you are in there.

This. Always wipe cache and dalvik. And if it's your first time with that particular ROM, do a full wipe as well.

do the following:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot -w update stockRom.zip (The zip is inside the.tar.gz and has a different name)

Thanks everyone! Apparently I was clearing all those items wrong, because I was clearing them. Different work until I tried after your suggestions. Must be something in the XDA air.

How to flash a Rom on a Nexus 7

I have flashed many a Rom in my day, but the Nexus 7 is a unique beast. How do you flash a ROM and how do you go about erasing the internal storage without losing all the data on the device. I.e. what you are flashing the TWP back ups and the Titanium back ups.
IF THIS HAD BEEN POSTED BEFORE I AM SORRY I AM ON MY NEXUS I DON'T HAVE A WAY TO SEE OLD POSTS.

Unlock the bootloader. (THIS WILL ERASE EVERYTHING - PERFORMS A FACTORY RESET).
(So perform a backup first using either adb pull or Carbon (available on PlayStore)).
Fastboot flash a custom recovery, (CWM or TWRP).
Reboot into that recovery...
Flash the ROM of your choice.

No no I already did that. Like on my S3 I need to wipe cache/delvik factory reset. Doing the factory reset erases the internal storage, since that is where the ROM is being flashed from and where the twp back ups are those could get erased. Which can brick a device. So what do I do to flash a ROM cleanly. Every time I flash a ROM it bootloops.

factory reset on the nexus devices, DO NOT WIPE /data/media which is where your 'sdcard' data is.....

I'm a little vague about what you're asking here...
Haven't used CWM for a while (I forget the details), but in TWRP, having pressed WIPE...
...you can then select (In the wipe menu) CACHE, DALVIK CACHE, FACTORY RESET all with relative impunity... even SYSTEM ('Wipe System? This will wipe your ROM') can be wiped, if you have NANDROID BACKUPS or flashable ROMs to fall back on in internal storage.
The options to wipe EXTERNAL STORAGE, INTERNAL STORAGE and FORMAT DATA, however should be treated with EXTREME CAUTION... as you may be left only with a custom recovery (if you have wiped SYSTEM beforehand)... and then you'll have either have to adb push a NANDROID (or flashable ROM) from your computer or fastboot flash back to stock.
(As an aside by the way, you aren't really 'bricked'... you just have no usable ROM on your system; but that really isn't a problem if you know how to use adb or fastboot).

FACTORY RESET in TWRP doesn't wipe the internal storage... if that is what you're alluding to...

4.3 flashing and bootlooping problem

Hi there
I seem to have a problem flashing 4.3 roms, actually any rom that isn't stock in general.
Right now I am running syzmel's 20E with 1.3ghz overclock version 3.09.
Back to the problem: this is the steps I take to upgrade to any rom: 1. Download (slimbean, vanir asop) 2. flash v20D (unmodded) 3. Root it using Framaroot 4. Install CWM using L7CWM.zip (extracted, then clicked on flash bootloader, flash recovery, and then booted into recovery) 5. Boot into CWM 6. Click on factory reset and reset 7. Go into mounts and storage and format /system 8. Go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache. 9. Flash either 4.3 version slimbean or Vanir ASOP (tell me which is better) 9. Flash gapps (Slimbean: Slim AIO minimal Gapps, Vanir: 4.3 minimal Gapps which is found in the Vanir ASOP page) 10. Factory reset again 11. Wipe dalvik 12. Reboot
Now as soon as I reboot, either it stays rebooting, or boots once and when you reboot it stays at the boot loading page (slimbean logo, or android logo) (In other words, once you go black, you never go back. Not being racist, just saying once it blacks out it doesn't work no more). So i retry. And then I give up and stick on v20E.
So please suggestions?

Are you sure it wipes made ​​correctly?

Danm, yes I'm sure.

Why you dont format cache and data & data/media ?
Did you try boot without gapps... Sometimes bad gapps cause a lot of problems

When you factory reset it clears cache automatically. I'll try without Gapps.

Factory reset in CWM clears cache automatically.
....Anyway, I finally fixed it. Turns out I had to wipe EVERYTHING. Including /data and /data media. Thanks anyway guys.

LG Optimus L5 E610 - CWM Bootlooping
Basically I inserted a pre-rooted firware into my lg phone using 20d+root + cwm.kdz, everything was fine including the flashing, I some how got the the CWM recovery and done everything such as wiping cache, etc, but the problem was before and after the wiping, etc, is that everytime i press power button it turn off and on and back on to the CWM recovery screen not home screen with apps, etc.
I am really fustrated, please Help!:crying:

To be safe, you'd do a factory image flash. That way you know you have a good starting point. There's the boot image, including the ramdisk, and radio (depending on what platform you're running on) that would have changed.
Or, if you're feeling lucky, clean wipe and flash your new ROM. What's the worse case scenario? You have to do it twice.

The safest way is
Download L port
factory reset once
wipe cache dalvik
flash ROM
wipe cache and dalvik again
reboot
done,
Gapps included.
I never got problem with these steps.

Hey,guys,I have just ask the L's developer ,he said that the L he developed uses the same baseband and bootloader as the Kitkat,so there is no need to flash a factory image at first , instead ,we can just directly flash the Kitkat aosp ,Thanks for his kindness!

That's what he meant. Format system and data. You'll find that option on the custom recovery.

You just need to get a flashable one and your good to go. Just wipe system, data and caches and flash it. I tried both ways by recovery and by script and its the same experience. But if you follow the script and flash through PC you'll surely lose all your data.

Booting issue -

I used Flashfire to flash a radio.img without checking flash bootloader.
I can get into the bootloader and twrp.
When wiping the device and flashing another rom or restoring a backup my 6p does not get passed the custom rom splash screen.
I was thinking of trying to fastboot flash system/data/cache of the March update and see if it boots.
I know I messed up. don't even know if it was because I didn't check the bootloader option in Flashfire. Just my guess because everything was working fine beforehand.
Any help or ideas would be welcome.

Hey... You said you wiped your device? What did you wipe in TWRP?
Try to install a ROM from TWRP. Once it's over go in wipe and do a factory reset. Reboot. It should likely fix your issue.

Hey thanks for the reply.
Yeah, I wiped data, system, cache. Just the standard - I still have internal storage intact.
Its just strange, I've used Flashfire before but not for flashing a radio and it worked out fine.
I am on 3.79 and used Flashfire to flash 3.78. Went to the bootloader just to check and it still shows 3.79. Just my fault . I didn't check flash bootloader in the Flashfire settings. Atleast that's what I am guessing. Things were just fine before

Well, if nothing work, maybe backup your internal storage and flash a factory image... Then in recovery do a factory reset afterward. Who knows. Going back to stock shouldn't hurt anyway.

I've used FF to flash only radio files to the modem partition many times without issue. You untick all but modem, and you untick inject SU and preserve recovery. Not sure what went wrong for you. As mentioned , you should be able to manually flash stock and if you're careful, you'll still have your data. All your settings will be reset, but the userdata will be there. You can even use flash-all.bat, but open it in a text editor and remove the "-w" flag so it will not wipe your userdata. The Google page where you get the full factory image will have instructions.

Thanks. It was obviously my fault somehow.
I do remember there being only one option to tick.
Using fastboot back to stock did the trick and made me realize maybe I should hold off on using Flashfire for a bit.

Nah, FF is awesome and a major time-saver. Just read up on the documentation here and become familiar with it.
