I've have an issue or maybe it's not but everytime I'm running on my work network or home network both the up and down arrows never shut off. They are constantly lit. The data usage doesn't seem extreme but it appears as if it's always working. Maybe a stupid question but it's annoying as none of my other phone do this. Rooted stock ROM . Anything to look at? Well heres an update . In have an s4 a note 4 and a note 3 all runing the same programs for the most part. Both the 3 and s4 are rooted stock romed . The note 4 is pure stock. The note 3 was the only phone of the 3 doing this but I couldn't really find just one program that was causing all the fuss. I froze the ones I thought might be causing it and unfroze each and checked until they were all unfroze and guess what. The traffic signals are back to normal. There was never any real data issues just annoying as hell. Anyway have fun guys. Jesse

I've had my note 3 for a few weeks now and having come from an s1, s2, s3 and s4 I'm finding I get fc's and freezes in pretty basic android features.
1. My settings > volume controls froze yesterday
2. the flip board widget wouldn't open the flip board page then hung the phone this morning.
3. just now ending a call froze instead of hanging up, then gave an error procees com.android.phone (or similar) is not responding.
Is this knox messing with stuff or just a buggy stock rom (mj7)?
Obviously a factory reset is the next step but I'm interested to know if anyone else finding their's is doing weird stuff that never happened on previous devices?

I have not had such a bad problem like that with my device, A few crashes here and there (1 a week) but that's to be expected from android..I can from an S2.
Hi,
I've had my N3 since release and no issues even following a few updates. However following a patch I believe it's always good to perform a full wipe and restore, and I think patch 3 or 6 was big! I had no issues with my S2 yet my Father took it on but had to factory wipe even though I'd done the same before handing it over (now works fine).

OK thanks, so maybe needs a reset. Never had issues like this after updates on other devices before. Hope its not going to be on a regular basis.

Hopefully just a one-off. I've never had to factory reset yet after an update but the awareness is always there just in case.

Did you install Wanam Xposed framework and use Center Clock at Status Bar? If yes, return back to original right side will solved the problem.
The center clock no longer work properly since MJ6, most obvious is FC your phone after end call.
No its stock and unrooted. My a alarm clock crashed last night and just now I had to reboot to get my phone signal to be seen. Will do a factory reset tonight. I'm hoping that due to no one else commenting with issues, that will fix it.

I just got the s4 and its total stock but it keeps dropping on and off wifi. In fact in settings it sometimes says I have poor wifi conection. But I know my router is good and my wifes g2 has no problems. I read online there is alot of issues sinve the 4.3 update and even after the patch. I also read samsung is not going to do anything there blaming sprint or your wifi. Should I switch to the g2 while I still can or hold out for a fix or does anyone know a fix?

Also it took 4 hours to set up phone. Most was the crazy slow download of apps from play store and updates from play store. Small apps would take 10 minutes to download then about 5 to install while on my wifes g2 same app same time downloaded and installed in under a minute

WiFi switching on and off is probably under wifi settings. Just turn it off and it will stop switching on and off.

I tried that even did the ##code to get into WiFi and turn off WiFi saver. Nothing worked and then it started saying no mobile data connection but I was on lte and it worked. Plus I was getting that Knox problem so I just went to the g2. Thanks though

I'm rooted, and currently on Bajarom. I'm not sure if its Rom related because I have been on a few different roms recently and they all have seemed to do it.
My texts wont go through, or will I be able to send any.
The time doesn't change, the only fix is a reboot.
I've been tethering alot lately(50 gig worth) so the phone has been getting hot. I'll see something pop up and say cooling down and then its gone.
Could the hot phone have something to do with these issues?

Is your wifi enabled at all? If it's enabled and not connected then chances are it could be scanning for networks which would cause significant power drain.
My wifi is off never been on

Yes my wifi is off I've turned it on them off again and it still says on. Been like that since day one. I don't ever use wifi. It even reports it on if I'm using the hotspot.

I went into the wifi /menu/advanced and turnedoff the wifi scanning for Google Apps and location even when wifi off. That is insane! Made an hour a day difference in usage.
On a side note, the signal on this firmware is better than. The wife's retail version has no signal in a store and I had 4g with two bars

Thanks , I will try that as well . My battery life is bad so far on KK...went from 83% -64% in 30 minutes just listening to music and light Internet browsing.

I feel like my battery life is slightly worse as well. Although that could be attributed to what seems like weaker data signal. So idle time seems to hold up just as well. But the battery seems to drain faster when using data. I was going to monitor it for several more days and if it's still bad, i'm going to try flashing the MJE modem

For those running 4.4.2 on the Verison Note 3...did you all have to subscribe to the Chinese bot-net via Kingo Root, or is there another method to install a ROM? Is Safestrap the only option, or is there a full recovery available?

Guys is it just coniencedence. This doesn't seem right I showered this morning and got out and by then my phone went from 100 to 95... And I just charged it. Listened to 5 songs on Pandora and browsed for new batteries and this is where I'm at... Bad? Am I just using it more? Feels way worse

Everybody has the same problems with battery and radio on the NC4 Kitkat...
what i have done to minimize the battery usage is removed all the unnecessary apps by using Titanium Backup ( U need to have root access to use it)

I wonder if going back to the MJE modem helps any?

I got better 4G it seemed on mje. Just frustrating that over the last few months signal has gone from always having weak 4g at least to now not even getting it after toggling airplane

Many customers have raised complaints regarding signal issues to Verizon after updating to Kitkat and they got free phone replacements which solved their signal problems...

I am on my 1st replacement. I used to drop calls like CRAZY. replacement has been great for calls, just doesn't have as strong of data signal as I had in the past, even with different radios.. So the replacement solved my issue really just frustrated with dads "ONE' getting such a strong 4g signal while I go between 3 and 4g
Part of the reason I am hesitant to replace mine. It could get worse for me ?
