When I first got my epic my youtube account was unlinked to a google account. It did it with no problem.
Since then youtube has required that I link that account with a google account so I just based my google account on the e-mail address that was attached to my original youtube account (I didn't use my gmail account). Now all my app does is freeze after I log in and then force closes.
Could someone explain why this happened and what options are there to fix it.
BTW I'm still running 2.1 stock
Thanks
I needed to change the Google account in my NSTG but couldn't find an obvious way to do it from the existing apps or tools in my rooted device. Removing accounts.db from /data and rebooting seemed to do the trick - I was then able to add a new Google account by using the Market app. Mail, calendar, etc. sync, Google Talk works and installed apps can be updated via Market. I don't know what effect this has on the B&N account and on-line library as I don't use their services but at least the stock reader app and library continue to work OK.
You might have been able to do it through the Gmail app's settings.
Thanks. At least in the Gmail app that I have there's only an option to add an account. Maybe it would allow me to delete the old account after adding a new account but I'm not going to test that now that everything is working perfectly. If someone could confirm that - whether one Google account can be deleted if there are multiple accounts present - I'd appreciate it.
Hi Guys,
I have an issue with my new head unit, a fair few apps are not working properly, but worst of all is google play and its accounts.
If I disable all internet access and try to open google play, it tries to load, does its "checking info" thing, and then comes up with an error about network connectivity.
If I then provide the device with internet connectivity, try to open google play, or create a google account - it comes up with "Checking Info" then the app just closes without reason.
Anyone got any ideas why this might be the case?
James
Mine has been doing the same thing since a factory reset. My device is android v6.0.1. I'm going to try and reflash GAPPS.
Hello Guys, sorry for necroposting.
Did any of you found a solution for this error?
Thanks
Maybe you can try Google installer to update Google Play and install missing components:
Google Installer für Android - APK herunterladen
Lade Google Installer apk 3.0 für Android herunter. Easily install the Google Play Store in your Xiaomi smartphone.
m.apkpure.com
Will do. I'll post the results.
Thanks!

Did it work? Same issue here
Nope. I was able to update google play services and other google apps, but the issue still remains when I try to login on google through play services
Joying has an update if you email them. They sent me this:
Do not worry friend, we know this google account issue.
After looking into this google account this issue, we find that google server has upgraded, now we need to upgrade and adjust our software to make it compatible with google server, so pls try below new firmware to see if it can fix this google service issue.
(the upgrade steps is the same, below firmware only has 2 file after unzip, just need to upgrade your head unit with these 2 files)

Hey guys,
I had the same Google account login issues, after contacting them they sent me a link to two changed files to copy onto their original firmware update. I updated with this new "firmware" and my Google account worked.
Then 2 days later (March 17th 2021) my Google account was compromised for the first time in 15 years. I only use that password for my Google account so I don't know how it was hacked but the audit logs say they just input my password.
They opened up a Google Adwords account and started selling fortnight ads, then attempted to get into my brokerage account, then logged into a dormant Etsy account and tried to do something with square before I caught on (40min total in my account). They were quickly deleting any account emails that came in so I wouldn't notice them.
I am highly suspicious of this new update to my head unit. The timing is spot on, and I haven't used my Google account anywhere other than my phone and this Joying unit.
I am very concerned now about the security of this device. I also don't understand the claim that "Google updated their servers". Smells very fishy to me, and I hope somebody that knows more about device security can figure this out.
Hi all,
Redmi Note 7 MIUI 12. 5.1.0 Stable Global
Account 1 primary
Account 2 secondary
Problem :
When I go to Playstore I see an update for Android System webview, and when I go to the app, I see a message that this app is associated with my secomdary account, not the primary I use with Playstore.
I can't find any way to change this, and looking on the net many other people have the same. problem. The solutions offered will not work with Android 10, because (new in 9-10) if the primary google account is removed then all apps and settings for that account will also be removed, not what I want.
Is there a safe solution to this problem, that does not involve removing my account(s)?
I tried contacting Google support at
[email protected] which is the email offered by Playstore for developer contact, only to get a reply that I have written an email address no longer monitored.
And in all the post on support.google.com Google never answers any of the people with this problem.
Thank you in advance
Jan
Give WebView Magisk module a try. I don't whether it can fix it to be honest.
I know there may not be a lot using this phone anymore, but still using it myself as I really like this phone (Huawei Honor Note 8), at least up till this problem has arisen.
About 6-8 months ago, I found I was having problems with the system not allowing me to log into my Google services from this phone. I have the latest EMUI update EDI-AL 10 8.0.0.555(C00) with the last security patch Jan 1, 2021. When trying to use any Apps that require Google account services, It keeps telling me I have to authenticate my account on this phone, but it seems it is not working or allowing me to authenticate when I try, and therefore no access my Google services from this phone.
I can still access my Google Account services from my newer tablet and the internet, but not from this phone now.
Anyone else have this problem or have a solution to this?
I have been APKPure to update my apps instead of Google Play as an example.
Are there any options that can be done to resolve this Google account authentication problem?
Is there a way to maybe put a new developer system on this phone, that will give it a OS refresh with Android and Google Service access?
I am on same Version 8.0.0.555 and i have access to Googleapps,Playstore and all my Apps works fine.
Have you tried Systemrecovery in Erecovery?
Your Bootloader is unlocked?
