Moto X Pure 4.4.4 Official Image - X 2014 General

There we go. Just request access.
Also I have done a 5.0 to 4.4.4 restore, it works just fine unlike on the 2013 version.

How long after you requested access to the file did you get it?

just got approved for it, took about 15 minutes?
usually its 24 hours but i guess they want people to get to stock for the ota .

took me about 30minutes.

Someone who has already downloaded the file could you please host it somewhere mirror site?
Thank you very much!
EDIT: No longer need! Already received the e-mail with the download liberation.

It would appear they only have one image for the pure edition which is for TMO.
Does Motorola release images for the European xt1092 pure edition model?

Did anyone try to flash the original image?
I just tried and it bricked my phone!!!
Maybe because I'm downgrading from 5.0 to 4.4.4??
did anyone manage to downgrade it?

I down graded using the flash directions listed on the Motorola site and it worked perfectly fine. In fact I am now puling down the official Lollipop Soak test form the Moto servers right now.
What error do you have?

It just didn't boot.
After 10 seconds of boot animation it went to black screen.
Did I need to unlock my device before?
besides that... during flash I got this error:

I think this is the problem.

Fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
reboot and you should be set.

Regular adb fastboot works fine but I can't get fastboot.exe included in the package to work.
Any ideas as to why? Motorola says not to use adb fastboot, so wasn't sure what the difference is. Thanks.

I just use the fastboot from the android SDK

If I flash this factory image to an xt1092 it will probably eff up the baseband and imei stuff right? Then I have to restore the original baseband/modem files for the 1092? I'm just trying to get my 1092 to be as much like a 1095 as possible. I purchased the device thinking it was a 1097 from south america but it ended up being a euro 1092. Kinda pissed moto enabled so few LTE bands. My Sony z3c has like nine or ten bands enabled.

now it worked! weird...
=\
=)

Does the bootloader need to be unlocked for this to work?

Bootloader
I was also wondering if the bootloader needed to be unlocked. I sideloaded the initial Lollipop zip but do not have an unlocked bootloader.
Thanks for any help.

Thought it might be worth shot since multiple people with the 1097 were flashing the pure edition ROM in the multi tool.

FAST BOOT WORKS
I'm not 100% sure, but you may have to use "mfastboot" which is the motorola version of fastboot. You can find it with a quick search.
So you were on 5.1 and downgraded to Kit Kat? You can't downgrade the bootloader.

I'm going to stop you right there,.
To install an OTA, you need STOCK reocvery. If you have a 3rd party recovery like TWRP or CWM, the OTA process might reboot your phone into Recovery but it will fall to install.
If you have 4.4.4 on your phone, you need to get that exact Recovery.img and flash it. You can't use a 5.1 recovery because the pre-flash validation checks that happen as part of the OTA will likely complain that its not the right version.

You can't downgrade from 4.4.4 to 4.4.2 without risking turning your phone into a brick.
What state is your phone in now? WHat bootloader version does it have on it?
If you have bootloader 30.B7, consider downloading the 4.4.4 XT1060 SBF/FXZ moto has on their web site, and visit -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/faq-how-to-prepare-ota-update-carriers-t3126425 read post 1 and 2... From Post 2, use the Requirements section, then skip to option 5 to get to stock 4.4.4. then try the OTA
ok lest start over
i was rooted with twrp
i returned to stock and flashed system and recovery from
VZW_212.56.26.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US
took both OTAs got onto lolipop seemd to be working
went to flash twrp it said flashed OK
but I could not boot into recovery
tried to laod a cuple differnt recoveries.
then tried to restore the whoel thing
VZW_212.56.26.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US
gpt failed
recovery failed
then I tried to install a recovery boot and moto boot frfom a different 5.1. ( after verifying that a couple 5.1 roms had the same size moto boot and boot) flashed but gpt is messed up and wont restore.
either I have broke it or I need a factory image from lollipop
i will try to check my boot loader version. but i bet its updated as a resultof th OTA
got twrp working
does any one have a complete nanadroid of verizon lolipop
got twrp working

slowly am getting back up.
i am not at VZW_212.55.26.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US
not 56
Blur_Version.212.166.3.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US seems to fail.
ill try flashing system and recovery again.
flashd system, revcovery, boot and motoboot
moto boot failed

How did you get TWRP working under 5.1? Someone else had similar issues here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/moto-x-qa/xt1060-recovery-5-1-t3201391
Well that was me... Eventually I got twrp working but I don't know what kind of bastard kitkat lolipop Frankenstein thing it was. Phone will not boot. It is on its way back to motorolla

Hey bud, when you say the phone won't boot do you mean you can't even boot into the bootloader, or do you mean the screen goes black after the boot animation?
If it's the latter the same thing happened to me today and I know how to fix it.
Won't boot. It went back to Motorola yesterday. Love extended warranty. Backup phone droid incredible 1 with KitKat . loving the 3g

I was asking you to clarify what you meant by "won't boot" since that could mean multiple things, but it doesn't matter if you already sent the phone back. Glad you have the extended warranty.
yes extended warranty is great.
sorry by wont boot i meant complete brick, not boot loop. no boo tlogo, no motorolla logo, no bootloader unlocked warning screen. just dark dead, as a doornail.
it wold not even get int eh boot loader.
i have never bricked a phone before. i want trying to downgrade. i have been rooting ( the hard way) since eclair on my lg ally, so not a newb.

Blasted kingroot - bricked my phone?

Ahh, hind sight is a wonderful thing.
After trying to use kingroot to get root access, it failed. And a few days later after rebooting.
I'm now stuck at bootup with Start Up Failed.
hab check failed for boot
Failed to verify hab image boot
failed to validate boot image
I've now tried lot's of different things, over the last few hours.
RSDLite (show device brings no thing up)
Unlock bootloader (request key, but error regarding OEM unlock not being set - no access to now set it LOL)
Downloaded stock X_Play_UK_Retail_XT1562_LPD23.118-10_CFC.xml.zip, and tried using various guides on fastboot but keep getting remote failed.
I'm on stock recovery (obviously still locked).
Any thoughts, or hope from anyone?
Obviously, not sure what support Motorola would provide for what is essentially my own fault?
Have you tried manually flashing each bit of the stock firmware/image. That might help. There's a good guide here which I followed to unbrick my device. Just follow the instructions http://theunlockr.com/2015/09/22/how-to-unroot-the-motorola-moto-x-play/

I think you need to unlock the bootloader and then start with the 'fastboot oem lock begin' command. You can't flash a system image with a locked bootloader. Let me know how it goes!

Have you tried any erase data commands or reset commands? Perhaps you could reset the phone so kingroot is un-installed and then try to turn on the phone. Short of that I'm stuck for ideas really, accept booting into 'fastboot and then erasing all data and factory reset in there. Let me know.

Have downloaded, and tried that - but the crux appears to be the fact that my bootloader is locked and I can't access the OEM checkbox. And therefore the tool itself can't unlock or equally install TWRP.
Unless I'm missing something in it's usage.

That really does sound like you bricked the device. If you where on lollipop software you wouldn't have the issue with check bootloader OEM unlock. If it was me I would either contact Motorola or go to a repair shop and have a motd experienced person take a look at it.
Try this, not necessary for unlock bootloader

It is definitely safe and I flashed my firmware by this but use at your own risk .

First you have to download your phone's correct firmware and extract in fastboot folder , and add my autoflasher and check your sparsechunk files number and make changes according to that in autoflasher then save ..Enter your phone in fastboot mode or in bootloader and not in stock recovery and run autoflasher.

I've ben used the latest rom so far why trying to flash (and failing) when I look at recovery I have a LPD23.118-10 number that matches to an earlier 5.1.1 rom (I had been upgraded to 6.0.1 via OTA updates) - do I therefore take that LPD ID to mean that I should actually use the 5.1.1 rom - I'm in the UK, so I'm assuming I'd use the UK one rather than Europe (I'm looking at roms on https://github.com/motoxplay/stock).
Thanks
Dooh!!
Looking back at what I was doing yesterday, within the mix of downloading various roms - appears that I was actually using the LPD23.118-10 and NOT the latest.
I figured, I'd give it one last whirl using the latest not expecting much - and hey presto, it's worked. Just in the process of resetting it all up again.
Thanks for everyone who contributed, and a lesson learnt about always rechecking what you attempt (and not to try to root if you're not 100% sure of what I'm doing)

I tried that once before and got the same error message until I used the original firmware, 5.1 which was the one it was originally shipped with. That's why I gave that advice.
ok dude glad to hear.now from twrp i think u can flash latest MM flashable. (not sure through if u first have to flash 6.0 MM)

Downgrade from 7.0 ROM and return to stock, tried all possible things.

Ok hi guys, been lurking this forum for quite some time and i have had a couple of phones with zero problems really.
But now im at breaking point really.
Im using Ressurection remix 7.0 ROM and its just been kinda slow for me. So ive decided that i want to return to stock!
But motorolas website had no files for the xt1572, well thats no problem there is someone that has a guide on this on the forums, said and done i found this.
Problem is that the flashing fails for me.
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'partition' (32 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.098s]
writing 'partition'...
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.808s
In bootloader it says xt1572 but when i connect USB and check in file manager (windows) it says 1575. Is this wierd?
anyway, is there anyone that is an android god that can get me through this. Im losing my mind, things were easier last time
Ask for anything, ill supply you as good as i can!
"Preflash Validation Error" means the ROM you are trying to flash, or that portion like the gpt.bin (partition table), is older than what is installed. This means the stock ROM you had before you flashed RR is newer than what you are flashing. I can tell you that the latest stock version is not available (yet) so you will be a version behind.
If you are sure you have the latest ROM you can get and it is specifically for your device, skip gpt.bin and flash the rest... If bootloader.img fails, skip that as well, but everything else should work. Sometimes the radio pieces need to be flashed more than once so that they take. Once you take your first OTA on stock, it should line everything back up and be "normal" again.
Of course, the best thing would be to restore your stock ROM backup you did in TWRP before you started...

[Q] How to find correct stock rom for my model?

I'm sorry of this is a noob question, but I found this: http: // www . filefactory . com/folder/c6cdedc45a775d27 <--- which contained a bunch of stock roms. (I'm a new user, so I can't post links; just remove the spaces)
I bricked my phone with an incompatible SuperSU (stuck on Moto boot screen), so I need to flash 6.0.1 for XT1644 (I think it's unlocked/USA variant but idk)
I tried one that I found called "XT1625-XT1644_ATHENE-RETUS_MPJ24.139-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml_2.zip" which said that it was 6.0.1, but when I tried to flash, it said:
Code:
C:\Users\Mateo\Downloads\Extracted ROM>mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
target max-sparse-size: 256MB
sending 'partition' (32 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.005s]
writing 'partition'...
(bootloader) Security version downgrade
(bootloader) Image primary_gpt failed validation
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.044s
Apparently, I'm flashing the wrong version of the firmware, but there's like 10 pages of downloads on the filefactory link, and it takes about an hour to download each... Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks!
That firmware should be okay, however that error is normal if you're attempting to flash a build older than the build you currently have/had. I'm guessing you had either MPJ24.139-64 or Nougat on your device before? Your updated bootloader and gpt blocks any downgrades (and thus reduces the chances of bricking your device).
You may be able to flash your older firmware (and downgrading in the process) if you do not flash gpt or bootloader, omit:
Code:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
The rest of your flashing commands should be the same. Of course, verify your bootloader is unlocked (which it should be if you were flashing SuperSU), else you won't be able to downgrade.
Thanks for your quick response!! I downgraded without problem! Also rooted with a compatible SuperSU this time... Then disabled the OTA daemon, so it wouldn't auto update, and brick myself, since I'm running an earlier version of the bootloader (correct me if I'm wrong...) Thanks again! :good:

Woo, good to hear you've got your device working I think with the OTA, you should be okay as the bootloader blocked earlier attempts to downgrade and your subsequent flashes won't have affected those partitions, so it's unlikely you'll brick your device!
