Wifi Connection Problems - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

To all:
I have an ATT Galaxy S4. It is stock running I337UCUFN1. The problem is I can not connect to any Wifi locations that prompt for a login screen. When I first got the phone it was not a problem, but now it wont work. I can connect at home, but not at the gym or at work where I do not have access to the routers. I have called Samsung, but they want my phone for 7-10 days to fix it.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you,
Jeff

wifi does not connect

Hi guys,
I have been reading for a long time and i have recently become a member. I have managed to solve all my previous problems here but this time i haven't been so lucky. My xda min s is not connecting to my wireless at home. Under network cards my home wireless network is available when i switch on wifi but it gets stuck under connecting... endlessly with out success.
Hope somebody can help
this happened with a router that I had too, with my t-mobile mda. Try turning off ur security if you have one, then try. If it still doesn't work, try connecting to another router. The problem may be with the router.
Weli i have tried that and it still does not work. I still get the connecting... endlessly. The funny thing is that smae phone and router communicated succesfully about a year ago perfectly for six months!!!
are you running a custom ROM? If not, try soft resetting it. If it still doesn't work, unplug the power to you router, and plug it in again. It may help
still nothing... does anyone have link/thread where i could double check my
wifi settings. i have an o2 xda mini s and my internet provider is be. my wireless router is the standard bebox supplied by be which i believe is a thompson machine

Broken Wifi? And Skype not working?

Hi all I got the US HD2 when it first came out and since then I have been very happy with it. But just now for some reason it won't connect to my home wifi anymore. It worked this morning but then like an hour ago it just won't work. I did a hard reset and the problem still exists. Any chance that this is caused by maybe a overheat or anything like that? Or maybe it's time for me to go back to the store and get another one?
Also I tried so hard to get Skype for Windows Mobile working on it but no luck. I searched online and saw people saying it is working but for some reason it just won't connect at all. I managed to get to the login screen, type in the info and then click sign in. Then it just stayed at the Skype logging in screen with the rotating blue circle. After a minute or 2 an error pops up saying there is error connecting please check data connection. I tried to do this with wifi, 3g, and ActiveSync and they all got the same result. So anyone got any idea about why? I really need to have Skype working on my phone as I need to have a foreign number.
Thank you all
the other day I was trying to connect to wifi after trying to use the 'share internet' tethering option...and it just kept loading over and over (the wifi sign) and it would not connect....
I flashed it back to stock and then flashed it to the latest energy rom now it seems fine..but I have not tried the tethering option yet, maybe that has something to do with it... not sure..
I figured out the WiFi problem. It turns out that I turned turned the encryption of my router from tkip to aes by accident and the HD2 doesn't work on aes. But I am still having trouble connecting to Skype... Anyone got amy luck? Or perhaps can somebody who managed to get Skype working help me out a bit?
Here's my WiFi issue...
My HD2 shows that it is connected but there is no data flow. I have a Linksys WRT610n router which is PW secure. I also have a HTC S743 that connects with no issues. I'm having a WTF red alert here... any help would draw 2 quarts of blood from me for payment, which you could sell for crack money. Anyone?

Yeah I got it.. I slipped the sim card out and then reinsert it, I noticed it went in just a tad deeper, it did the trick. WiFi is now working. The world can continue to spin. Carry on...

I only have 1 wi-fi network at home, and that would be my wireless router. I will try changing the password in the router menu, then go back to my HD2, turn wi-fi on, and try connecting to wi-fi, with the new password. Let's see what happens...

[Q] Problem with wifi Samsung Galaxy 5 (i5500)

Hi, I've some problem with wifi connections. I own a lynksis wag54g2 wifi router. I can establish a connection, but after some times (it's not standard, it may vary), my device disconnect from the router and it's not able to reconnect. All that i can do is plug off my router (i take off the ac adapter) and when it's up again my phone can connect. it's very frustating, but i don't know what to do? i've tried setting something in wifi preferences' on my phone but nothing change. i've also flashed my firmware to the new one, hoping that it could fix that problem, but it didn't. someone could help me?
you can update the firmware to a newer one. this would fix your problem.

Hello.
I have a problem with WIFI on Galaxy 5 (i5500)(Europa) too. They have already changed my phone with new one, but the issue remains. So, for the second time now, I was able to connect my phone to my router for the first time, but after the first interruption or disconnection of WIFI I could not access to wifi anymore.
When I enable wifi in the phone starts ''connecting'' but then reports ''interrupted'' eventhough the signal is recognised as strong.
Firmwire version is the latest available. Router is encrypted with WPA2. Also I can access to router with my HTC Tattoo (Click).
Does anyone know the solution?
I have a decision to make(today), becouse If there is no solution to this I will change to another phone as I still can (Galaxy Spica).
Advise please.
Thanks a lot
What router do you have? have you tried with any other wifi network? i said that because my have this problem only with my router, and not for example with my girlfriend's one.
I found a little fix for my router, linksys wag54g2: open up the config page (192.168.1.1), go for wireless tab, select protection page and click on save settings. that reload the router and my phone is able to connect again.
Hi.
Thanks for your advice. There is some problem with router.. When I restart router the wifi on the phone works until swiched off or interruption becouse being out of range. When I try to connect to wifi again does not work unless I restart router again. ..catchy.. Interfering with mobile connection also makes the drop of wireless connection on my computer, so I need to restart router. I don't know the permanent solution. If anyone has any idea how repair this forever please let me know.
Best,
Thanks
Hi,
Here is my problem with my wifi with the galaxy 550.
For security reasons, my wifi network can't be detected (invisible). If i want to connect a new device by wifi, I must first set my wifi visible and then register my device.
Then I set my wifi as invisible again and the device can connect automaticaly to my network without "seeing" my wifi network.
Problem is that once i set my wifi as invisible again, my galaxy fail to connect because the network is unvisible.
Is there anyway to fix this ?
I have just read similar post on another thread and replied find it here
I ahvent installed anything, perhaps its to do with the handset if its locked to a particular carrier? just a guess and a question...
cheers
helper
try to use static ip!!

I have an answer! Hope it works for you.
My provider gave me really easy solution for wifi connection not connecting even though it was my own network with all the right info. It worked great the first time, then for some reason the phone locked in the "off" position. So I removed the battery to reboot (later learned the right way by pushing the volume button on the left and the power button at the same time)
Anyway, try this....
turn phone off - remove battery - remove sim card - wait a few minutes - reassemble - then the network should log on with no problem.....Good luck!

P8 Lite ALE-L21 cannot connect to Wi-Fi anymore (network access denied).

Hi everyone,
Since Friday my phone just stopped connecting to Wi-Fi networks. When it tries to connect it says "Network access denied". Mobile data and everything else work fine. I can technically connect if I literally put the phone on top of my router but even then it is unusable. Take two steps away from it and the connection drops. I spent the whole weekend and yesterday looking for a solution. I tried almost everything including resetting the phone, updating the phone from the current version to the B524 beta and back (rollback wiped my phone but I don't mind), the airplane mode trick and countless router rebootings. I really hope it's not a hardware issue, I've only had the phone for a couple of months... To make matters worse I ran out of data allowance and have to wait until next month for it to come back.
So yeah, kind of an annoying situation. Anyone know what is happening?
Thanks.
Have you already tried to connect to other wifi network, problem could also be in your router ...

I did, yes. I've tried to connect to mine, my brother's and some unsecured one that was near me.
if you are rooted then i suggest full wipe in twrp , download new rom and see if it works again , if not it must be the phone who has hardware problem.... and repair shop is needed
I have the same problem, my P8 Lite Wi-Fi just stopped working, tried several different Routers that used to work but just get Network Access Denied. Think this must be a software problem.
Hey !!! anyone get this solution will please help me i am facing same problem "Network access denied"
tried also Install New Rom but nothing will happen ... ???
Hey.
Im having same problem...visually everything works (not greyd out), but when scanning, scans for a second and then thats it. Tried wifi direct, doesnt work.
Also bluetooth doesnt work (same as wifi...cant find nothing).
