Hey,
I am sure this has been discussed many times here but i just want to know if i have a choice to buy either of these versions which one should i go for if i want to install custom roms? I mean devs release more custom rom's for the exynos version correct?
Thanks
There has always tended to be more developers releasing customs roms for the snapdragon version. The general consensus that if one wants to use customs roms and kernels etc then the best choice would be to go for the snapdragon version. Again there are developers who release exynos custom roms and kernels so don't think it will be the end to modding you note 4 if you go for the exynos version.
I am in the same situation and had a snapdragon note 4 but just felt it was laggy maybe i am finding this more of a problem due to being a iPhone user for years. I won't go to why i have not taken to the iPhone 6/plus lol.
The exynos version has been winning benchmarks over the snapdragon but what made me ultimately go for the exynos version was that it beat the iPhone 6 plus in a head to head that is incredible in my books. Choice is yours......

Id like to find out if there are any custom roms for the G900H or if there is anyone that has one that will be customizing the stock rom etc... Kinda sad that there is no one yet Is it because of the CPU???

I am also interested in knowing the answer to this question.. infact the s4 exynos has got the custom roms so will this device follow suit?
Dunno.
Seems people are even less interested this time.
S4 had AndreiLux for custom kernels.

I dont believe that the reason is people not interested. I think its matter of time. First, this is the newest version, and also, the most difficult built with 8 different cores.

Number of cores are completely irrelevant to the difficulty of building a kernel for Exynos. It's all about knowing the platform, the capabilities and what you can and cannot do. Which comes with experience...
It's just a matter that Samsung drove away all developers from Exynos. We used to have really talented devs on this side (Entropy512, Codeworkx, among others), but the lack of support from Samsung and lack of sources for Exynos burned them out.
S4 had AndreiLux, who is an excellent dev with tons of knowledge.
N3 has halaszk, which has done a great job and also brought back features from S4's perseus to the N3.
Don't really expect much for this device. It's not a matter of time, N900 (Note 3 Exynos) doesn't has an AOSP rom and it has been several months now.
I will likely build something when I get time, I frankly want to improve a couple of small things and increase GPU clocks to offset for the lower performance compared to the Adreno 330... but it will take a while, thanks to halaszk's work, I know where to poke.

Will you only build a kernel or a complete rom?? I just so want stock looking custom rom hahahah
Hi guys
Those who have now note 4 which one should I choose
Snapdragon? Or Exynos?
And I want to buy the gear vr
Which one is better with it
The reviews and numbers say that Xenos is better
But developers say that snapdragon is better usually
And is the phone easy to root and deal with?!
And is there some kind of problems with it like every samsung phone that has some kind of common problems?!
Can you guys help me?!
And do you recommend note 4 or should I go with something else?
Thank you
You just murdered the name Exynos...
ON Topic: Choose whatever you like and whatever version is available in your country.
Thread cleaned. Back on topic please.
So back again, I'm asking about the processor which you guys recommend
Exynos or Snapdragon?
i'm willing to use gear VR
And willing to root and use custom ROMs
So I need the best
And if you guys see a common issue with this phone?
And finally, if you guys recommend another phone like Sony Xperia z3!!
thank you in advance
No bother anymore
Hello and welcome.
No problems has arisen since I have had my SGN4. The back cover could line up better I suppose but you can't notice and the screen could have a little less gap around the edges, but once again can't notice.
If you prefer a good DAC, go for the Exynos based device. That's about the best advice I personally can give but here is a LINK with some testing between the two.
I have the Snapdragon version and it's fantastic.

hi thanks for your help
I have read a lot of reviews, but you know a lot of numbers may be good or even great but users and developers may have another opinion, especially in the Exynos and snapdragon subject there was a lot of arguing about how good each of the two, especially I wanna use gear vr and you know about the overheat and the lagging also about the next 64bit and which the exynos deliver better than snapdragon 805!!
That's why I'm searching for the best user experience and the developers opinion too to not stick with a limited number of roms with the lack of support
Thank you, your help is appreciated
only you can decide for yourself, but for me, I chose the snappydragon, better support and more roms here on xda.
First check if the VR is compatible with Exynos, last time I checked (Dec-Jan'ish) it was not supported. Snapdragon has always got the most devs and options because its the most widely used, that's the reason I chose Snapdragon when I had this choice to make.
Devs probably won't reply to this thread either, they are far too busy with real life stuff and development.
The 64bit arguement is not relevant at this stage either, just like it wasn't for PC's for a while.

Oh a shocking info I didn't meet when searching for gear vr!!!!
It works only with snapdragon!!!!
A fast search that says it will work with exynos with the new update android 5.1!!!
But I trust better the one it works with already so I think I will go with snapdragon
And I know developers are busy to answer such thread, but the more important than developers is you guys the people that own the handset and deal with the developers
Thank you again
Enjoy your devices
Hey all, i am thinking of buying a note 4 and in my country they sell both variants the F and the C, I dont care much about custom aosp roms and i would like to ask, the S6 firmware when it comes on what variant it can be ported more easily? If not the whole rom then maybe most of the features?
Thanks
Up!

It's possible but I wouldn't expect to see it for some time. First we need the device. Also the Source for said device/kernel. Also the source for your device your porting to. Then there has to be a developer; with both devices, has time to develop, willing to share it, has not left XDA, and is willing to support and fix any problems. Basically flip a coin. Guess heads or tails. That's your answer.
There is a posibility that we'll get the new touchwiz UI in a later update..5.1 maybe.
That is why i am asking, to me as i understand N910C is the more powerful CPU, i don't play many games so for me its my first choice, but in terms of support we all know that the exynos doesn't have any sources, so i am asking if and when the S6 comes, will i get the ported touchwiz hypotheticaly or the snapdragon version is easier way to be ported?
hi, i know there is a lot of discussion about Note 4 exynos or snapdragon here in xda. but i want help about buying Note 4. my question is, which is best, Exynos or Snapdragon.
I want to use multitasking at it's peak, because i am heavy user. second, i am a heavy gamer too. third, i like custom roms and love to have them in my mobile.
so, please tell me which one should i buy according to my needs. i am from Pakistan.
Thanks.

Most roms are for the snapdragon but the exynos has a faster processor so it's all up too your needs.
is it true that games work more smoothly in snapdragon than exynos?
I'm in love with the hardware of the galaxy s8 so I decided I want to buy it (Although I hate Samsung Touchwiz)...
but I'm torn of which variant should I buy - the unlocked US version (with Snapdragon 835) or the international version (with Exynos 8895).
honestly I prefer the snapdragon chip for the popularity of snapdragon but I heard the unlocked US version rarely gets updates .
Another major consideration is that because I hate Samsung Touchwiz I hope (someday) a custom AOSP rom will be released for the phone (like Lineage OS), so I want a model that will get custom rom support fast...
so my question is-
Based on the above, Which model should I buy?
Furthermore, Which model probably will get root and support for custom roms first?
Thanks in advance
You will never see a working aosp rom on a samsung phone..if you hate tw.. I suggest you to run away from this phone and never look back
Well looking at S7 Edge, for some reason Snapdragon, which is usually considered as more opensourced etc than exynos, didn't receive any custom ROMS, especially AOSP. Surprisingly, Exynos did - both Lineage and ResurrectionRemix are available, however, it took time to release them, I guess it will also take some time for S8 to receive it's 'clean' Android ROMs. Not sure whether Snapdragon variant has locked bootloader, but if it is, then it may be a hard nut to crack

If you really want custom roms then maybe you shouldn't go for samsung. First is development on exynos is a pain in the a*s for devs, second as mentioned it takes some time to develop a decent AOSP rom. But if you really want a samsung device then yeah, go for Exynos international, Qualcomm is locked and hard to tinker with.
