SPH-L720 NG2 Flash/Unlock Nightmare-Experienced Fan of Site and Purchase Paid Apps
I haven't posted on here enough, so I got directed off a thread that would have been great. Somebody has to have a simple solution to this because it is such a popular model and I feel like an idiot for even having to ask after spending 15 hours reading, 5 hours watching Youtube videos, 10+ hours trying to Flash, an hour on the phone with Sprint (where I am not even a customer, but was, and they were very helpful, and on a Sprint SPH-L720 for build NG2 updated 7/14 (I already went through this over the summer with the L720T-which was my phone), where I have the MSL I cannot flash this freaking phone with the Pro-Version of all of Chainfire's, Joey Kims, TWRP, ClockworkMods', Mobile Odin, Jimmy's ROMS, ChainsDD SuperSU too, Titatanium backup. I have literally spent $70 on apps over the past two years with 4 successful roots, 2 unlocks....I cannot do this thing. Help!
Towelroot, which I believe is obsolete and incompatible mod stringwise, didn't even work for me and I am not green with Odin. My problem is that I switched to a Macbook Pro, have very little PC Access, abut when I did I still could get it on 3.07 or 3.09. I have a Note 4 with TMobile, but this is a birthday gift for my friend who has boost. I bought a donor phone for after the root, I think I can probably even get Sprint to get me an international unlock so I can do a domestic sim unlock...was a good customer for 5 years. The phone is completely clean and off contract. I actually manufacture reset it just now through RTN before trying again. My know has been disabled this entire time...the counter on boot loader hasn't gone up. The problem I see is that the recovery is write enabled and I am also having trouble getting Odin to register the phone. I have know disabled even so it won't trip, not that he or I care, but still....
1) This has become my last three days when I expected it to take 15 minutes after the prep I put in to to make sure I had write phone model, right donor, right MSL. Does anyone with an enormous amount of experience have a simple OTA apk for the NG2 root?
2) Does anyone know a comparable program on MAC OS to Odin.exe?
3) Does anyone know how to get the boot loader from freezing because of write enabled so the phone won't connect to Odin?
4) I JUST CAN'T GET THIS THING ROOTED AND IT IS SO STRAIGHTFORWARD. HELP!, AND yes I do feel like an idiot.
5) I know it can be flashed to Boost, but that is well secondary, because with all of the android apps I have, the MSL, and experience doing it shouldn't be an issue...but I thought this wasn't going to be either, nor would it consume 3 days of my life. If someone can baby step me through this or just give me a simple answer like it should be, I am willing to buy three of your apps that you think are cool to have...my phone isn't rooted now, but I don't mind adding them to my google account if they are in relation to a root/flash/binaries. I will also email you $10-$25 depending on the reaction time to this response...posting dumb questions to experts was a last resort for me. I am desperate at this point.

Can the moderator of this thread please help me or pass my longer questioned post to a developer in a Normal Thread. I never post, always just read, and buy the pro versions of all the apps. I am in a thread with two other junior members just started about an issue that began last summer now and my questions will never been seen by the time I need this. Even posting was a last resort and I feel dumb hat I cannot solve because I have done literally the same thing with three other similar phones, and identical phone on a different build, and it is a birthday present I have already dropped $280 on between apps, the S4, a Boost LTE Donor....I just cannot root and need a simple answer from someone with experience. Thank you.

Guys, have you ever had such problem as unsolicited Wi-Fi enable on this ROM? It happens with me several times a day.

Important!
Modem and the bootloader must be the same. If modem and bootloader are not the same, Wi-Fi will not work.
First: flash System from first post.
Second: flash modem and bootloader. Separately from the system, not simultaneously.

My phone has knox tripped (Knox 0x1) and so I haven't been able to flash firmware using odin. I get errors every time. Would having the knox bootloader be the cause of me getting errors when trying to flash a new modem using Odin? How can I get around that? My baseband version currently shows as L720VPUEMK2.
I used the supposed firmware from stock and wifi not working
***I tried to post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338919
BUT received this notice:

I bought this phone off a CLister and he advised he tried to root and then couldn't get wifi. I tried to factory reset and the phone was stuck in reboot.
I held down volume down, home and power and this was displayed:
ODIN MODE
Product Name: SPH-L720
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
Knox Kernel Lock: 0x0
Knox warranty void: 0x1
CSB-CONFIG-LSB:0x30
Write protection: Enable
eMMC Burst Mode: enabled
I found tutorials to flash with Odin. I went to sammobile and found the corresponding file for the SPH-L720 to flash back to stock. With Samsung USB firmware up to date and my official Samsung cable ready to go I flashed and was out of boot mode. I then factory reset the phone. Phone will not get wifi. I found this thread but don't want to use the wrong file to flash the modem.
Which file do I use to flash the modem to get my WiFi?
Software version: L720VPUFNG2
Android Version: 4.4.2
Baseband: L720VPUFNG2
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-2162929
Please help if you can spare the time and many thanks just for getting this thread started for the Sprint S4 users! All roads for the fix led back to you.
I've never messed around with firmware / basebands. I'm currently on MDL, should I update to NAE or would it cause problems? (I'm currently running Euroskank's Lollerpop if it makes a difference)
Questiong b4 FW flashing
Forgive the naive question, but i am still unclear as to how this process will play out.
I have a SPH-L720. Started with rooted stock at MF9/4.2.2. Just recently went to TriForce ROM at 3.1. I am looking at going to 5.4 TFR, but that would necessitate a firmware update. When flashing the firmware under an older ROM will that make this setup unstable? That to say, can i run a MK2 firmware while in TriForce 3.1? Just trying to get a better picture of what i'm getting in to.
Thanks,
Quick question, because I'm a noob and noobs do noob things, I tried to follow a guide to enable native wifi tethering on my s4, it did that common issue thats popping up, stuck on yellow sprint spark screen, having done that, i tried to flash with different versions of firmware, and they all fail, how do I know if i need the mf9, or mcf, etc.

Firmware flash fails
When flashing my phone with Odin, it gets to roughly 95%, then fails. Now I cannot boot up, it keeps saying "Firmware upgrade encoutered an issue". Tried it with the default settings in Odin. My phone was rooted and had Project Infinity 8 on it, before I tried to flash with yours, will that be a problem, and how can I fix it? It fails on @cache.img.ext4 "FAIL" and @hidden.img.ext4 "FAIL". I also cannot get into Recovery mode anymore, I can only get into Download Mode on the phone. It is in fact a Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F)
Can I install it on sm-g900m?

Maybe try what I did hope it helps you too... looks like 5.0 has some security that locks bootloader and downgrading, rooting or so blocks it somehow...just my guess not expert here.

The CF Auto Root for the 4.4.2 ROM worked for me, you should be able to use that. Keep in mind Xposed Framework won't work on stock Samsung Lollipop ROMs though.
I tried using xposed on kslite rim and it was stuck in boot loop so that had to go. But it don't mind too much I don't think
is it worth it?
Should I stick with KitKat or take the plunge and go Lollipop? :fingers-crossed:
LOLLIPOP
lollipop !!! do the update totally worth it! (aside from the extra 3gb the OS needs) but so far sound battery and performance better that kit kat
the only downside i've noticed for now (no factory reset yet) some lag while gaming
beside that... better than kk
also Antutu benchmark gives me a lower score (from 47xxx to 22xxx)
what i think : dalvik to art switch?
Can some one Help on 2 thing.
1st I used to change the name on Builpro from klevl to klteatt and I get at 4glte icon now I can't get it.
2nd. Some one no how to add Spanish language to this model. On 4.4.2 I use to have claro puerto rico VOB file. Now I can get Spanish on lolipop.
Thanks.
That "guide" someone posted in the thread installs malware. Do not ever run a random exe.
Home Button Issue
I updated my Rogers phone this morning and everything was fine until I setup my Exchange email. Once I did this I lost the functionality of my Home Button.

Are you sure about the model of your note4? N910F/C/G
Is your phone recognised in odin?
Did you flashed the right bootloader and modem?
N910f I flashed everything correct. And Odin detect.
I've watched your video and I can tell you that something like that happened to me when I bought the phone and I rooted it for the first time.
I've managed to "fix" it using odin from chainfire
http://download.chainfire.eu/568/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root-trlte-trltexx-smn910f.zip
adding and flahing from the pda slot
first this bootloader OC3
then this modem OC3
and last TWRP from http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/orig-development/tool-utility-twrp-2-8-1-x-teamwin-t2956011
Then I was able to boot into recovery mode and flash a OC3 based rom like http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/twrom-emotion-revolution-note-iv-t2976107

Need Help to Flash SPH-L720 Samsung S4 Sprint

I am new to Flashing Android phones and I hope someone can help me through this process. I am technical by nature but like everything else, if you have never done something before, it's always best to consult with those who have as to not brick your phone.
I have a Samsung S4 model number SPH-L720. This was purchased from Freedom Pop so it is technically their own custom ROM on the Sprint network. I later found out that their service is horrible and want to reflash my phone to a standard factory ROM, either a factory Sprint Rom or a Factory Google S4 (Non Carrier Specific) Rom.
The phone currently has Android Version 4.4.2 but I am flexible which version OS is on there.
I am confident with all the experts on this forum, someone can lead me through this process and let me know where to get the ROM's to put on here etc.
The phone already is rooted as it comes from Freedom Pop Rooted already.
Thank you all for your assistance. I will be sure to assist others in the process once I learn it myself.
I'm not a professional, but I might be able to help.... I'll try anyway
You mentioned being fine with returning to the stock ROM. Under normal circumstances that would be pretty complicated because you would need to install using ODIN and re-root afterwards. However, assuming you are running a custom recovery you should be able to install a zip from galaxys4root DOT COM, under the "galaxy s4 rooted stock roms" tab. These ROMs are all stock ROMs that are already rooted and may have a tweak or two. I recommend checking out the ROMs on that site, until you find what your looking for.
The following article should be helpful for installation via custom recovery: highonandroid DOT COM /android-roms/how-to-install-custom-rom-using-twrp-recovery-failproof-method
As I am a newbie on this forum I cannot post links, so please replace DOTCOM with appropriate extensions. Again, I'm not a professional, in fact, this is the first time I've attempted to give any advice yet so I apologize if I am lacking clarity. If I use any terms that don't make a lot of sense to you, feel free to ask any questions and I will attempt to respond in a timely manner.
Not sure how to efficiently help people when I am unable to use links. So I'm sorry if this offends any XDA mods. And I hope that any mods who read my reply will take into account that I am not spamming. I am trying to help.
Any luck?
