Welcome to the Official Motorola Lollipop firmwares thread.
Here you will find the Firmware images of Lollipop for Moto G 1st generation once available.
It will be useful to have all variants of the awaited OTA here, since all devices have some differences in hardware, so here I will be placing all OTAs once they are released.
How to capture an Over The Air update?
If you want to contribute with your specific carrier OTA, once your OTA is available, do this:
Download the OTA but don't install it yet. With a ROOTED DEVICE, use some root explorer and go to /cache folder inside the root folder of the phone and copy the downloaded ZIP file to your emulated SD card, then copy it to your PC, upload it to any server you like and submit the link here to have all firmwares in one site.
The OTA will be named like Blur_Version.173.44.9.falcon_umts.Latam.en.AR (this is an example of an Argentinian retail Moto G 4.4.4 OTA ZIP package).
As I said, you need a ROOTED DEVICE to do this, so, if you want to contribute to this database, do all this procedure and unroot your device, or restore your firmware with this guide to make a clean install of the new firmware.

That's just my opinion but should related to android L threads be created once we at least will know when it comes? Or even better when it will be released?
There is already one thread have been closed http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/lollipop-t2929720
I'm just saying that this thread is kinda pointless for now.
Yea I thought placeholder threads weren't allowed on XDA

The thread you mention is useless.. But this will be useful since it will take no more than some weeks to see the update. So this thread can be opened right now, since I give info and instructions to capture an OTA to share with everybody when it is available... And I'll put my OTA for Arg retail Moto G here..

This is not just a placeholder, since I give instructions to capture the OTAs when they come up.. To anyone who wants to help with this database I give that instructions with some time before the OTAs roll out.
There is already a thread for Motorola Firmware Images. Please keep this thread OTA Updates only, and reword the OP to reflect this.
Cool..! This will have good database of Android L OTA's for all variants and easier to grab them once available in a single thread. But please make sure you update the OP as soon as someone shares in posts :good:
I think you can even add Variant names in advance at OP like XT1033 , XT1032 so on.
"Official" ? OP work for Motorola?
If not then its a community effort which is better than Official in my view

Thanks for this, helped me capture my 5.1 OTA update
actually I have found a way to capture the OTA without root,
step 1. download the OTA but dont install it..
step 2. power off the device and boot into bootloader mode
step 3. flash custom recovery like twrp 2.8.6.0 (fastboot flash recovery twrp-recovery.img)
step 4. boot into the custom recovery, go to the file manager and go the /cache/ folder
step 5. copy the update file from the cache folder, and paste into the main sdcard root area
step 6. connect the phone to the computer via usb cable while in recovery mode
step 7. copy the update file to the computer.
now to install the update, just reboot back into bootloader mode, flash the stock recovery back with fastboot (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img)
step 8. enter stock recovery mode (to show options - hold power and volume up for 3 seconds)
step 9. apply update from sdcard (you will see the update file still there - Blur_Version.XX.zip)
This works, I have tried this 3 times before on 5.0.2 firmware.

I have a Canadian ASUS TF300 purchased from Futureshop. It shipped with WW firmware, and I updated OTA to WW9.4.3.30 before starting this.
I have lost root in the process. But I wasn't keep on keeping it in the first place. I kept all my apps and am now on US10.4.2.9 Jellybean Android 4.1.1. Maybe someone can chip in on how to keep root.
My device is NOT unlocked. Following this procedure requires that you root your device temporarily.
You will end up with JB with one modified binary (su, but with safe system permissions as a result of the rooting process).
This method is very time consuming (1-2 hours), so I don't recommend it for everyone. You need knowledge of ADB to proceed with this.
How To Flash (Unlocked/locked Device)
1) Convert to US9.4.3.30 using the blob:
Download US9.4.3.30 from the ASUS download page here: http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=ASUS+Transformer+Pad+TF300T
Open the firmware download package with 7zip or similar, and extract 'blob'.
2) Copy blob into your internal memory (/sdcard/). I used adb push to do this
3) Continue following 'Method 2' from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622628
(You probably want to clean up the symlink after you finish this method)
You are now on the stock US9.4.3.30 firmware
4) Perform the official upgrade to the US10.4.2.9 firmware manually
Download US10.4.2.9 from Asus: http://www.asus.com/Tablet/Transformer_Pad/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_TF300T/#download
Remove any external storage media attached to the device before proceeding.
The downloaded file is to be placed in the root directory of the internal storage (/sdcard). Reboot to install if the prompt to install doesn't come up right away.
(instructions by Bolandk. not tested by me.)
FROM THIS POINT FORWARD, THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW ARE OBSOLETE AND ARE KEPT HERE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE ONLY
4) Root the firmware using the DebugFS method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1706588
IF YOU WANT TO KEEP ROOT, FOLLOW THIS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840504
5) Use this method to force the FOTA update (dlpkgfile)
Download dlpkgfile from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840397
Follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1803090
The difference is that our device does not vibrate. You want to hit 'vol up' right when your device shows any text, and this is within 5 seconds of you pressing the voldown+power combination. If you miss this, you need to recopy 'command' back into /cache/recovery.
6) The update process will start automatically. This takes 20 minutes to complete.
Region conversion instructions
Since ASUS has posted the Jellybean updates for a while now, I thought I'd update this post with instructions to change to another region.
To region convert, you need to download the firmware for the target region. Ideally you want the version you are currently on. I think you may end up losing root in the process, but I don't know a way around that at the moment.
You do not have to be bootloader unlocked to do this.
Extract the xxxUpdateLauncher.zip into the root directory of a microSD card formatted to FAT/FAT32. Then rename the file as EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip. Reboot into the bootloader (vol - and power), and select the first option (left most square) when the menu comes up. The firmware update will start automatically in this mode.
I converted back from a US to a WW build without wiping using this method.

Do you know of a way to force downgrade from Jelly Bean to ICS 9.4.3.17? I don't have any root access and need to restore it.
This works good it took me a little over an hour
but you lose root and the ability to flash a custom recovery (CWM,TWRP)
Please correct me if I am wrong
I haven't tried it this way yet, but it seems a little easier if someone wanted to try it.

Alright, after some work, I finally got this to install on my unlocked device following these steps:
1) If not already on stock, wipe everything and reflash to stock .30 update and reinstall TWRP 2.2.1.3. Be sure to backup before wiping.
2) Download the zip from the OP, and extracted it to a folder on your hard drive.
3) Open META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script in Notepad.
4) Deleted line 3 and 4 of the file. The Line to be deleted should read assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "EeePad" ||
getprop("ro.build.product") == "EeePad");
5) Create a new zip file containing all of the files you extracted in step 2, including the modified updater-script file, and copy to your device.
6) Reboot into TWRP
7) In TWRP, under mount section, ensure all four mount options are checked, and internal memory is checked at the bottom
8) Flash the zip file you copied in step 5.
9) Reboot, and enjoy your Jelly Beans.

I'm in the same boat. I backed up root with the OTA Rootkeeper, but after the upgrade, it it doesn't restore root.
I did read in another thread, that some people were successful in restoring root in JB with OTA Rootkeeper, but they had SuperSU installed. Of course, I came across that little tidbit right in the middle of the upgrade
Actually, i'll what I said back. I actually managed to restore my root. I'm not sure what I did differently, but I have thankfully have root again!
i was able to restore root too.
FYI, this worked for me with an unlocked bootloader.
Extremely happy right now. Thanks for this.
Works great with unlocked bootloader, thanks again.
Sorry but what is the point if you already unlocked bootloader/root/install custom recovery , and now you tried to flash back to stock to get OTA update ?
- You tried to root/ flash custom rom at first place, and now you back to stock to get OTA update and you can't root once you update to 4.1.1. More important, 3-4 peoples already get their tab bricked when they tried to flash CWM after Jelly bean update as they attempt to root their device again. And now they screw up cause they can get warranty from ASUS. Why don't you guys wait couple days when developers make a new custom roms based on official 4.1.1 updated so yous just easily flash through recovery. Just my 2 cents :highfive:
sorta works
It worked sort of.
My tf300 was already "unlocked"
But the instructions didnt work exactly.
Here is what I had to do:
1. Use TWRP recovery to install the ICS official rom from ASUS
2. Use the idcrysis method for rooting after initial setup (failed the first time but worked the second try after rebooting)
3. put the dlpk file on the root of the tablet from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840397
4. Root the firmware using the DebugFS method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1706588
5. copy "dlpkgfile" into /cache/ directory
6. create the file called "command" under /cache/recovery/
7. write this statement in the file /cache/recovery/command (without qoutes) "--update_package=/cache/dlpkgfile"
Dunno why it didnt work for me the right way but this is how I got it to work. Not root doesnt work but I can live with that till I read about rooting Jelly Bean tomorrow when I wake up.
If anyone else has issues forcing the jelly bean update these steps I did worked. I am definetely NOT a programmer, just had to follow steps from multiple posts. I kind of wished I could relock the bootloader again. This was such a pain in the rear!

I was wondering if you do a full reset, is the device OTA Eligible for future updates and are you able to remove the moded binary by doing a full reset.
does this have any side effects, eg no more ota or is the us version crippled because of patents?
OK....can someone confirm this for me.
I am stock,locked and rooted...my OTA failed due to some frozen apps.
So I would take the dlpkgfile and place it in /cache
I would then place the "command"file from the link in #5 and place that in c/cache/recovery
Then reboot into recovery and it should install on it's own?
Can anyone confirm this for me? Anyone locked have success with this process?
Also anyone have the dlpkgfile they can mirror...the original one generated too much traffic and is no longer available.

First of all I want to tell everybody I work as a WebDeveloper and designer. Last year I had rooted and changed my rom on HTC HD2 (to know i am not a newbie to this area) not a big deal. Me and my brother decided we can root our ACER ICONIA A500 because we.. just wanted it, but I guess we mess it up hard. Here is what we have done:
1.Find a SD card - Format it to FAT32 - Upload the GingerBreak.apk - USB Debugging (ON) - Original thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1055354 - DIDNT WORKED
2.Format the SD card for second time on FAT32 and run the files on PC from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1546593 (ofcourse following all steps one-by-one) - and guess what -> IT DIDND WORKED
So we tought rooting for this device wont work, we have to try something else and I uploaded "update.zip" (this ZIP was from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633907 ) into my formatted SD card and run the tablet with Power btn and Vol- it started to load it everythig seemed OK till it restarted by itself and showed me this VIDEO
So where I am now?

The ONLY way to get root with full system RW, is to go to this thread;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622425
There are several ways to do this (unlocked bootloader and CWM) You HAVE to do the bootloader, and you HAVE to install a CWM. And you HAVE to install a pre-rooted rom. The thread offers different methods to do this via an application run from PC.
Root, is just allowing access to view the hidden system files. Most root apps, demand to do writes to the /system. Example, is SU. It does remounts so it can install SU binaries. Just having the Superuser app doesn't mean anything without /system RW. And the only way you get that, is by running an insecure kernel. And the only way you get an insecure kernel on ICS/JB, is via CWM. And of course the only way all this works, is via unlocked bootloader.
That's why we have the package in that link.
You "might" get by with doing the bootloader and CWM. Afterwards, Flash one of the kernels in the dev section (just look), then install SU and Busy Box from the market. This might probably keep your current rom intact. Or, just install a custom rom.
Ok. I think I unlocked my bootloader successfully. But I find it difficult to actually Install CWM recovery! I know that i have to have root before installing CWM recovery actually, am I right?

Can't see anything from yr links for some reason BUT to clarify.
No you are not right!
If you want root to install a recovery, it doesn't work like that with the acer, you must unlock the bootloader.
The unlocked bootloader AND custom recovery are 1 package - if the flash is successful you will already have cwm.
The link Moscow provided you with gives you everything you need.
Which ever method you choose (manual nvflash or auto tools) you must follow each step to the letter!!!
Run the bootloader package again.
Choose yr recovery.
Flash.
Boot DIRECTLY to recovery.
Wipe data/media and cache
Flash yr rom
Reboot.
Done.
If you really only want r/w access use blackthund3r's ICSRoot tool...in the link Moscow posted.
Also if you are on stock rom be sure to read that post regsrding boot.p file.
All of this information is in that post, please take some time to read thru it so u know exactly what is involved. ...if u need further help there are guides in my sig as well.

This is the word i was missing all time.
What i have done?
Installed TWRP, Wiped off SYSTEM,Factory, Dalvik Cache, Cache and finally installed stock rom with full root.
Are you tired of waiting for OREO to arrive? The purpose of this guide is intended for those wishing to install Android Oreo without updating the Nougat firmware currently in use. I have personally performed this procedure successfully and I will explain how did it.
REQUIREMENTS
· Have current firmware Android 7.1.0 - Nougat (version 1.27.401.11) already in use in your phone;
· Bootloader unlocked;
· Twrp 3.2.x-x installed (see the latest version.)
CAUTION
Before proceeding it is good to backup your data (I suggest using Nandroid Backup included in TWRP).
Download the following files to the PC (Windows operating system):
1. TWRP_Backup_Untouched_System_Image_+_Boot_2.31.400.6_OCEAN_DUGL (Rom stock Indiana - dual sim - very similar to the European version);
2. http://www.leedroid.co.uk/Stable_Builds/Oreo_Radio_BT_DSP_TWRP_Flashable_v2_Euro.zip;
3. twrp-3.2.x-x-ocn.img (to always keep at hand ... you never know!);
4. Magisk 15.x (also included Magisk Manager 5.5.x).
Once you have downloaded the files to your PC, proceed as follows:
- Extract the contents of the file of point 1) on the PC and copy it to the External SD card in the TWRP \\ BACKUPS \\ FA 'xxxxxxxxxx' folder (where 'xxxxxx' is the exact name you have and it contains the backups of your Roms!;
- Copy the file from point 2) 3) and 4) to the root directory of your External SD card (or even to a folder created by you as you wish).
INSTALLATION
• Restart your phone in TWRP Recovery mode;
• Perform a complete full wipe;
• Install the file containing the radio, bluetooth and dsp in step 2);
• Now execute the file Recovery in step 1) (2017-12-22-07-37-51_My_2.31.400.6_0 ....... with this name);
• Do not restart yet: install the file in step 4);
• Finally install as image (Install image) the file in step 3) putting the check to the item 'Recovery' (so you are sure that TWRP there is ... you never know!);
• Restart and enjoy OREO!

When you get back to TWRP, you can also enable file system writing ...obviously being Oreo with Nougat firmware there will be limitations ...
CAUTION
Remember that to go back you must enter Download Mode and run the RUU corresponding to your firmware that you have in your smartphone: it is the cleanest way to restore it without the need to be S-OFF: this procedure will erase all the data in the internal memory of your phone.
Last thing: do not be scared if you see that it takes time when you restart or turn off your phone ... it's normal ..
Sorry if my English is not perfect ...
At this time the roll out of Android 8.0 was announced for Europe too.....

Take a read and a look at my guides thread. There you'll find out about how to flash a RUU to upgrade your ROM to Oreo. RUUs can be found in my spreadsheet and if the required one isn't yet available you might have to look at some payed service portals like e.g. IR-File or easy-firmware if it is already available over there. As HTC doens't provide RUUs for download free ofcharge outsinde the US, this most of the time is the only solution available.

Hello, thank you for your reply. I've managed to install Oreo (LeeDroid) after bootloader unlocking and TWRP instalation, radio, etc. following instructions from XDA. All seems to work fine but after it doesn't, I've had some problems with applications running. I'm asking my self now why I've done it then, but I've tried to get back to stock ROM by TWRP restore... I exectute backup from SD card and something went wrong and now I have problem... i'm stuck in boot loop. I can run stock recovery but when I'm trying to install stock ROM by update form SD card or ADB sideload I receive: e footer is wrong e:/ signature verification failed installation aborted or unable to open sysfs usb node.. Is there any way to fix it?

Are you sure you're using the correct RUU fpr your model, do CID, and MID macht, did you use the extSD card method describend in my guides thread?
What's the first we need to help? Exactly a fastboot getvar all and a full an precise description of the file you're trying to use (incl. a link where you downloaded it if possible).
Thank you for your reply. I managed to run my HTC in safe mode, (I guess) next I've followed instructions how to returrn to stock ROM wit RUU and finally restore stock ROM. Now all is ok.

Update to Oreo
Hello,
Can anyone answer please?
I assume the above poster found the info requested, as there are plenty of guides and info to do just that.
Break Break
My question is can you extract the radio image from an older firmware and flash it? i.e., can I install the latest Oreo, or even PIE once it's ready, and if I still have radio issues, just flash the Nougat 7.1.1 radio firmware? I know how to get the firmware, I know how to extract the radio image, I believe I know how to flash it in download mode. Before experimenting, was hoping someone could give me some expertise before trying it.
Thanks!!

Warning: Do not flash partial update OTAs (under 1 GB) on a modified device! If you want to use partial OTAs, you must first flash a Full Zip that it applies to, and then flash the partial OTA from stock recovery. Flashing partial OTAs from TWRP will either fail or soft brick your device. You can return to a usable state by flashing one of the above full zips in recovery.
Update instructions:
Download the necessary files from the post above and follow as below:
PS: Dirty flash is fine if you are running a previous OOS version or any Rom based on OOS, else if you come from a custom rom Clean Flash is recommended.
********************* For Stock Non Rooted Users with Stock Recovery *****************
1. Download the appropriate OTA/Full zip from above link and place it in the root folder.
2. Navigate to Settings > System Updates > Settings Icon > Local Upgrade & Select the OTA File
3. Once selected system would prompt upgrade now
4. Select upgrade now and system would reboot in stock recovery and flash the OTA
5. The installer would itself flash the OTA and reboot the device.
The Device will reboot and your OnePlus 5T is now running on the latest OxygenOS OS Firmware.
PS: The first boot may take some time so keep calm and wait for it to boot.
* After flash is successful go back to recovery and a wipe of cache is recommended.
* If in any case flash is unsuccessful the system would prompt you to download the full 1.5GB zip.
* Download that and follow the same process as above.
************************ For Rooted Users with TWRP Recovery ************************
Download the required files from Post 2
Once you have downloaded all the required files on you device, please follow as below
1. Update TWRP to the latest stable release from the link posted
2. Reboot Recovery and Take a Nandroid of your existing ROM just in case you need it
3. Wipe > Advance Wipe > Select Dalvik & Cache > Swipe to Wipe
4. Install Menu > Select OOS Full Rom Zip > Swipe to Flash
5. Flash the provided Magisk to maintain root (Optional)
6. Wipe Dalvik & Cache
7. Reboot System
The Device will reboot and your OnePlus 5T is now running on the latest OxygenOS Firmware & OS based on Android Oreo.
Thank you all for your support

Sorry for the post, my question didn't really get answered on the General Q&A Nood Friendly Thread:

I have Android 9 and August 1, 2020 security patch on it (YouTube was mentioning security patches? dunno why).
I would like TWRP and a future goal of changing to Lineage OS/Tissot.
Which rooting guide can I follow?
( I got confused with the available threads.)

After posting, I tried follow this guide thread
I was able to do step 1 which is to unlock but, I don't know if I should still be flashing a Stock Fastboot ROM?
Also there is no link for TWRP, or which version of TWRP I should get...
The last time I rooted something was a Galaxy Note 2 back in 2012-ish so my relevant knowledge is definitely expired.
Please give me a lead on where to find the correct TWRP file and further instructions.
you want step by step guide to flash custom rom?
- You have unlocked bootloader?
- what OS version you are on at the moment ?
Dont worry i will help you in best of my knowledge i have been through what you are going after some time i learned answer question and we will begin
Yes, my bootloader is already unlocked and fastboot was enabled.
OS is stock Android 9, Aug 2020 security patch:

No Fastboot ROM (if that is necessary) or TWRP is installed yet.
PS: I do not know where or which TWRP I should be getting for this phone

I was hoping to get instructions or help in English; I've watched his YouTube tutorial in Indian but I was afraid that I'd do something wrong because I didn't understand what he said.
You can follow the instructions provided for LOS:
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/tissot/install
Simply exchange the LOS installing part with the ROM of your choice.

Thank you, I'm done with the custom rom and root
Sorry for late reply i couldn't login because of xda forum migration process
steps i used:
- install Twrp (download latest version details below)
- download custom rom and gapps (and transfer it into sdcard or internal storage or your phone)
- download Adb/fastboot tool and drivers (download it in windows pc install it details below)
- Install Twrp (download it from https://dl.twrp.me/tissot/) there are 2 files .zip and .img you would need fastboot and adb drivers https://androiddatahost.com/uq6us install adb minimal in location where of your choice copy twrpX.XXXX.img file beside adb/fastboot.exe , from start menu open command prompt right click run as administrator locate to adb/fastboot folder .
Power off your mi a1 when its powerd off hold down volume down and power button until you see fastboot mode on the phone connect it to pc wait for drivers to install let me know if you need in this regard. Inside command prompt run " fastboot devices " if you see device with bunch of numbers below than it means your phone is connected and drivers are working than enter this command " fastboot boot twrpXX.XXXX.img " it will take no more than 5 seconds your phone will turn on into twrp recovery there you can copy twrpxx.xxx.zip file to your internal storage or sd card flash it when its done restart -> Recovery.
Warning: After flashing twrp zip dont restart to system if you do your phone will show you message that phone has been destroyed so dont restart .
- Installing custom roms: download custom rom of your choice transfer it into internal or sd card from twrp install-locate to custom rom .zip file and flash it also keep in mind lots of roms didn't include gapps so you have to download it from opengapps(for android 8-10) and nikgapps(android 11). Flash gapps . Keep in mind after installing custom roms you will lose twrp recovery so if you want twrp at this stage go ahead and install it
- If you want root access download and flash magisk
Its always good practice to keep stock rom and xiaomi flash tool with you just in case if something goes wrong you can reflash stock rom and boot normally.
Let me know if you need help
Cheers
