no doubt your rom is best ever rom i used but me facing 3 different problems please guide me with any solution tht how can i solve these prblems
1st is the text message problem that it is limited to 3 pages that is 480 characters total then its stop like this image
2nd is shealth problem which is not calculating correctly u can notice that after walking almost 5000+ steps its still showing less then 1km distance which is not correct bcoz i walked the same way same time same steps on my stock rom which is almost 4km but on custom rom from 4.1 til now 5.3 its not working fine like this image
3rd is smart alert which was good in s4 stock rom like i put over my mobile from surface then it turns light on of screen so that i didnt need to press home button or unlock button on my phone to turn on em too searched for this on net but didnt find good solution

i think two solution.
in one hand, maybe you lost yours APN settings. so, you have to look up the company (movistar, personal, at&t, whatever) settings in google.
In the other hand, try to change your modem according to your region. there are a lot of helpful post in this forum where you can learn how to change it.

Stock kernel
When i installed the stock kernel version of ozcanrom 5.3, I got problems with apps such as swiftkey (keeps on failing to install language pack) and whatsapp (cannot take pictures or view them), so i realised that every app that i installed did not write to the system drive (there were no folders on system drive that showed that these apps were installed) but when i installed the custom kernel, this problem did not exist, so is there anyone who can help?

Did you...
a. Apply the patch of fouldermount. Try to download this apps from Google play.
b. Wipe cache and delvik?
C.if nothing of above work, try to reinstall the apps. (In my first time I did that)

@Kosh_swe, have you found a solution? I also failed to get the Vanir ROM to work and I'd consider the flox CM10.2 ROM. Your post suggest that my radio would be dead in flox, too.

Testing radio issues
Hi to all,
I just tested radio issues on my phone. I was researching, why radio is not working.
Here are results, maybe it will help. Anyway, I have my GT-s7710 for testing and I can do some tests or catch some debug informations if needed.
It seems that problem why radio is not working is located in modem-supervisor process. In original firmware, this process is responsible for uploading firmware into dbx500 platform chip. But in CM, there is no such process.
I am not expert, but it seems to.
I tried to use old modem-supervisor process to make everything working.

but it needs to be changed because /sys/devices/platform/ab8500-i2c.0/chip_id changed to /sys/devices/platform/ab8505-i2c.0/chip_id
Problem is that firmware event for loading firmware is never generated and firmware is not uploaded.

The Problem is not the hearing part - the microphone signals are blocked...

The 7580's phone hardware is almost identical to the 7710. The processor in the 7580-higher heights, but the hardware buttons and then there are all of the functions, but it has the 4.2.2 firmware, which allow moving to the SD card. Somehow it should possess to operate from 7710.

After clean 1st boot after the installation the buttons are working perfectly, but after reboot (2nd boot) they are not working properly. Only long presses are working (google search by long press of menu button, kill aplication by long press of back button, last apps by long press of home button).
So? There is no such responde on how to fix that..!

baseband wipe
I can't get Cyanogenmod 10.2 working. Everytime installation wipes my baseband.
When I install the Stock ROM SIM works again - but after flashing CM again also wipes baseband again.
My Installation-Tools:

I'm installing CM for my father in law on Samsung X Cover 2 and I'm facing problem with no available network.
I've tried CM 11 and CM 10.2 - both are running fast but both doesn't recognize any network operator.
CM11 has additional problem with hanging during shutdown.
I've found that Polish network Play has common problems with radio: like here

But even I'm putting T-Mobile sim card then still phone doesn't recognize (phone is coming from Play but it is unlocked).
When I restored Play stock ROM then it works.

Forget CM en try Vanir or MIUI these are more up2date. Also CM11 is alpa with camera bug:

Second, I use Vanir 4.4.4 daily. It has some bugs, but not some bugs that makes it unstable. Known issues:
Start/Stop navbar after every restart
Use this solution to fix connection errors after a fresh Flash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60411469&postcount=612
Other small bugs:
2G/3G quick setting and normal settings dont work properly because of absence of LTE
Navigation Ring and immersive mode causes dead touch screen space
DSP manager doesn't work
After using Vanir 4.4.4 I never want to go back! It's that much faster, more free RAM en better battery performance. Because of the better RAM performance, you must kill apps more often else it will drain the battery quicker :silly:.
Best way to Flash with 4.4.4 is to first flash Clockworkmod through ODIN, then do the usual Full Wipe --> Wipe Cache --> Flash Rom --> Flash GAPPS. Here is a video of someone doing these things. P.S. in this video the process is speeded up also reboot can freeze the system (just remove battery after a couple of minutes)

Another option is MIUI (used on the the popular Chinese Xiaomo phones). Instead of the Vanir build, this build is still being maintained. But because it's based on Vanir it has most likely has the same bugs. Never tried it because I prefer stock Android.
2nd, the connection error fix for vanir could also work for CM (vanir uses stuff from CM).

Hey there. Trying clean install with latest TWRP. I do have to install twice using the work around for getting stuck on Samsung S4 boot screen. After second install boots up to glowing samsung logo then asks for decryption password. What's up with that? I'm trying to install on Canadian s4, slim, no adblock, yes exposed, chrome browser, camera with sound, black keyboard, s5 widget.

I don't know how you've done this firmware but it's very and i mean VERY good. Battery life great, good speed in each day use ( fast ), everything is in good working order. I tested a lot of the cfw from here even the lollipop ones and nothing ( i don't want to give names ) compares with this one. I've had some problems in aroma with kernel but after i installed the right kernel everything was more than good. Belive me my s4 knows a lot of cfw. From my point of view this is the best custom firmware for galaxy s4. Lollipop releases are good as well but they need more time to be stable. Developers spend a lot of time to do something good, so for lollipop lovers ... just have some patience, everything will be fine ( they are working on it ). I will test the firmware for a longer time and if it's ok i will give you a feedback and something else for sure

Goldeneye 49.2 minor problem

I did a total wipe and re-install of the firmware on my M919 Galaxy S4, installing Goldeneye v49.2. It's pretty completely great! Only minor issue is that the phone icon in the dialer's "log" and "contacts" screen (but not "favorites") is microscopic now--it looks like a little green apostrophe.
Is there any way to fix this without flashing the firmware again? I'm not keen to go to all that trouble again.

Ah-ha! Using Wanam Xposed, there are two settings under "PHONE," one says "Enable Call Button on Call Logs" and the second says "Fix Call Button DPI" (for use if you get a bad icon size). Ticked them both "on" and rebooted and voila, instant fix.

(I am loving this ROM. It's everything I like about Touchwiz with way more flexibility and the ability to customize. WIN!)

Does anyone have this problem where if i leave my phone switched on on the lockscreen, it will never turn off unless i turn it off manually with the power button? I've had this problem with the GPE rom. Would appreciate any suggestions

Decompile lollipop's framework-res
This my first post on XDA though I've always kept an eye on this wonderful forum. As I'm sure of many my fellow Android fans I downloaded hanspampel lollipop image, unfortunately I wasn't able to decompile framework-res apk using apktool lastest build (RC2). I don't know if it's against the hanspampel's rules to modify apks but I only change the lux numbers in order to reduce brightness and make my tablet (Nexus10) usable in darkness.

This does not answer you question about the framework but a non-framework alternative is the app "Lux" which allows customized brightness settings adapted to your preference under changing light conditions. I bought the pro version and heavily use the various profiles so that my custom selections adapt to the light conditions and situations (inside day, inside night, outside day, video consumption). The pro version provides 5 profiles (not with the names that I actually use them for though).
It took me about 3 days to "train" Lux to my preferrences. The profiles can be saved so it took me no time to get back to my settings after I upgraded to Lollipop. Lux has become one of my must have customizations on Android.

Lux changes the brightness values in every case but one. There is a night astronomy mode that adds a red layer. Lux is a superior autobrightness replacement with significantly more personalization. It can't hurt to try the free version.

I downloaded Lux It turns out I ried before, unfortunately it doesn't change the raw Lux values instead it applies a dimming layer. I guess I have to wait for a new version of apktool.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I always want to be absolutely certain of something if it can potentially result in a bricked device. I see in the OP of Hans' Lollipop thread he has zips of the stock recoveries for both 5.0 and 5.0.1. Due to the fact I just flash Hans' zips, I have no need to wait for an OTA. However, if I did want to wait for the OTA, would I just flash the zip of the stock recovery in the Android version I am currently using (which would be the "out of date" one) and then install the OTA update? If that is correct, there would be no reason to flash the newest stock recovery because it would automatically be installed, correct?

im using twrp 2.8.0.1, do a factory reset then wipe cache files. Everything works very smooth and stable. No FC at all and randomly restart.

no WiFi with LRX22C or LRX21P. Also tried the Possible_WLAN_Fix_updater_script.zip with no luck. (Using TWRP 2.8.2.0)
Went back to 4.4.4 KitKat (from NANDroid backup) until this WiFi issue can be solved.

For some mysterious reasons I wasn't able to flash the 5.01 version even though I was able to flash the 5.0 one. BTW what do you mean by full wipe, factory reset+caches+system, or really a full wipe thus deleting every single bit??

I'm having the same problem with 5.0.1, FC on play services and can't get past "looking for updates". Didn't try 5.0.0 though.

Updated to 5.0.2 and my wifi no workee. Trying a reboot, while wiping cache and dalvik, so we'll see if that helps. Any other ideas? I don't want to factory reset, but will as a last resort.

Quick Question
I am about to switch over to stock lollipop. My nexus is already rooted and I have Twrp installed. I do not mess with the rom a whole lot. However, I plan on doing a complete wipe except the recovery. I noticed a custom kernel and a beta Superuser floating around. I would like to simply keep my device rotted but mover over to the new lollipop stock rom. I have searched forums and there's no clear answer as to the purpose of these two files. So in the interest of being cautious and informed, here are a couple questions:
Could someone explain clearly what I need to do and know create a stable switch from a 4.4 custom rooted device over to lollipop? You can assume I am filled in enough to have done the work the first time, but I don't like seeing special files/ steps floating around that I do not understand.
Why a custom kernel for root?
What's the deal with the SU beta?
And finally: Any suggestions for a stable governor/scheduler for lollipop? (before everyone hops on and says experiment, the point of me asking is to get a couple opinions from people who have done a bunch of experimenting and use the one I like the best- establishing a baseline of performance is helpful as well)

Same here, just came from 5.0.1 (hanspampel) and just installed 5.0.2 (hanspampel) through TWRP 2.8.4.0 after a factory reset and cache/dalvik wipe and nothing but dots for 20mins

I also can't get the 5.0.2 to work. Using twrp 2.8.4.0. Md5 matches.
Dirty flashed over 5.0.1 system image incl SuperSu - it came to the optimizing apps, after that: bootloop. Dirty flashed for the 2nd time (because you said so) also bootlooped.
Then wiped data and flashed again: Bootloop. I alaways waited at least 15 mins for the nexus to come up.
(Tried 5.0.0 and .1 earlier, they came up, but wifi could not connect.)
I wonder why the rom works perfect for you, maybe your Hardware differs a little bit... Are you using the 16gb Version? Purchased my Nexus on launch day in play store, also from germany.
All Older 4.x Releases of your rom were working so fine and a conveniant way to update without using the google factory images.
I really hope you can find a fix for this! If I can help you somehow, please tell me.

Hanspampel's translucent patch for 5.1
After trying in vain to get translucency on 5.0.2, the 5.1 patch is working now, with one problem: Google Newsstand has stopped working, so I had to freeze it. No other problem as yet. Anyone got any clue?

Great rom enjoying using it on a daily basis. l I installed parallel kingdom and it made the app dpi to big. Any ideas how to get the app back to the original dpi. I can't attach a screenshot as I don't have enough posts.

Green tint when lower brightness
Anyone have a fix for green tint with lower brightness? I'm new to rooting and this is my first ROM... So far mostly everything is going great but the horrible blacks and green tint.
edit: Found a solution. Change your display settings so each color is set at 55%.

Will this rom be updating to 5.1?

updated play services, and kept getting play services errors and then i started all google apps started working better
but then restarted after every notification.

Awesome build, I'm on Verizon and running MDK boot loader, clockwork mod recovery, after install I ran into problems without root, (but of course I know reboot into recovery and flash root zip.) After achieving root, I was having reboot issues after restoring apps, and messages ( I run a business and have to have it.) Well after the random reboots, I installed ktoonz Kernel and now can't use WiFi tether. Is there a fix? Sorry to post if it has been answered, I didn't see anything when I searched the thread.

I'm getting reboots when ending calls on bluetooth. If I end a call by pressing the end call button on my touchscreen, everything is fine. If I end a call by pressing my bluetooth button, I get a reboot. I tried another kernel, alucard - it's slightly better. If I end a call with bluetooth on alucard, the screen freezes until I press the home button. Any ideas? I think this started on the 5/17 or 5/22 build.

Is there a way to delete unused apn settings? The rom keeps switching me to apns that don't work for me. I'm thinking if I can delete the others it won't switch and kick me off service.
