Hi everyone, I got my S5 3 months ago and I regret that I didn't read the instruction carefully.
I thought that the principle of rooting S5 was same as S3 so I have tripped the KNOX counter.
If my S5 has a focusing problem and I can guarantee that this was not cause by me (because this problem occurred once I brought) and I still go to Samsung Care, will they still fix it for me?
I am frustrated with this problem for this 3 month, please help me and sorry for my poor English bro.
P.S. I live in Hong Kong

Hey there everyone. I'm not new to Android but I am new to wanting to Root my device. I switched over to the dark side for about 6 months and had to get away so I traded my iphone 5c(junk) for an S4 on Verizon network. The issue at hand is that the previous owner who happened to work for Verizon updated the damn thing religiously. It's currently running 4.4.2 on the FNC5 band. From what I'm gathering there isn't a way to currently root this build? I've seen a tutorial on downgrading back to I believe MK2 which is 4.2.2?? Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I may have to try that method if at all possible. Or should I just wait.. and suffer with an un-rooted S4.... or just trade for an HTC one... lol
Thanks everyone and don't hurt me too much... I honestly have been trying to learn the past 2-3 days and have been slightly confused.. but it seems to be making more sense with Rooting and installing ROM's.
By the way...in Odin mode... the knox kernel lock says 0X0 as well as the knox warranty void.... odes this mean I can root the device normally!?!?!
Wait a minute, what is your model?
International or Verizon?
If you have Verizon s4, then you are in wrong section, go Verizon S4 section, you will get more help there.
For the information on the i9505 , which is very similar to Verizon s4, you can root on 4.4.2 but you will trigger the KNOX as the flag will set to 0x1, which means lost warranty
I Have A Question I Wanted To Ask An Didnt Know Where To Post So I Made A New Thread
I Have A Samsung Galaxy S5 G900T1 And Wanted To Know If Tmobile's Lollipop Update Would Work On The G900T1 Seeing That Tmobile An MetroPCS Are The Same If I Downloaded The Offical Rom For The Update.....?
Yes, it will work. Those phones are almost identical.
But I don't know if that would advance the Knox counter ... Something to do a little research on

Has anyone tried this yet? If so what happened to the Knox counter? Last question and a n00b one at that, what will happen to the carrier logo when booting?

Hey all im new here and i came from a nexus 6p. Im eager to root the s8 but since this is my first samsung device i have been doing some research about KNOX and the warranty and that it apparently voids the warranty. So really my question is by australian consumer law, does samsung still have to repair the device even if knox was tripped? Thanks in advance hopefully someone can clarify this for me. ?

I have never read a report yet of the N910C Exynos being affected by the EMMC bug. However, that does not mean it's not possible - just in my experience I have not seen it. My N910C is over 3 years old and is still running 100%.
