Anyone here who has both or had the chance to compare the Z3 and Note 4 in low light shots? And by compare I mean really going deep in the settings, going in to manual mode, adjusting exposure etc. The two most important thing for me on a phone is battery life and camera and I'm torn between the two. There are a lot of comparisons out there but I always see in the comments that the Z3 is in superior auto. I would like to have an honest comparison. I posted this here because I'm slightly favoring the note for now but not really enough to make the choice between the two.
Quick and dirty: I own both devices.
Note 4 beats the Z3 everywhere except GPS sensitivity and extreme lowlight photos.
Z3 camera overall quality is among the worst I've seen the last two years, in some situations even gets beaten by the S4's FRONT camera. No joke.

Note it's S4, not Note 4. Pictures taken with the Note 4 are even better than S4 shots, by far.

Would anyone buy a device which was a merge of the Galaxy Camera & the Galaxy Note ???

I would !!!
Yeah a nice utopic idea, but with the current technology you might as well grab a brick to your ear. The battery would have to be huge, I know the full HD recording sucks battery like crazy and just look at how thick the Samsung camera is. Now imagine this with a 5.5 inch screen and you'll see how that would not work,
I would already love if the camera could also be used as a phone. That way I would probably get the Note 2 and my wife would keep the Camera, as she loves taking pictures of everything. Too bad it's just a fancy camera with Android on it, and only time will tell if it is worth it.
Samsung should allow simcards to be put in the Galaxy Camera like what they did in their Samsung W880 (http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_sch_w880_amoled_12m-review-398.php).
I'm certain if they did this, the Galaxy Cam would be the most serious rival to the new iphone as the hype is already here for the Galaxy Cam! They would only need to advertise it as a smartphone camera shooter like what Nokia did with their 41mpx pureview.
I think the Camera is a great idea - if the next generation really improves the quality of the sensor it would be almost perfect for everyday photography.
As we approach the launch of the Sony Xperia Z (C660X) we will no doubt see plenty of camera samples from the device as well as samples compared to other flagships of the day. To get the ball rolling, we have a number of camera samples below which compares the Xperia Z against the Apple iPhone 5 and Oppo Find 5.
What you see below are not the raw images themselves but 100% crops compared. Obviously there is a mega pixel difference between the Xperia Z/Oppo Find 5 which have 13MP CMOS sensors versus the 8MP sensor on the iPhone 5. The Xperia Z appears to come out on top in our view, with the HDR function working particularly well in a few shots.
Have a look :

can you post the full sized images?
Crops are good but a better comparison is with the full sized image as well

Exactly.
Thread closed.
So back when I still had my Canon T2i I had a viewfinder which magnified the 3" display 2.8x.

. In the ad it mentioned the cinematic experience and strangely enough it wasn't a lie. It looked amazing. However, because of the low amount of pixels it was quite easy to count them.
Now, I think the Note 2 has a lot of potentional to also be turned into a cinema beast, for watching movies for example. The cool thing about the viewfinder was that from the inside it even looked like a theater, due to the shape and a soft material which contributed to the overall feel. Pretty cool. This thread is mainly meant for creative ideas, since there aren't any 5'5" double eyed viewfinders out there. So join in, see who else is interested.
Would be amazing if this could materialize. Keeping track of this thread.

:good: So I did find a (rare) dual viewfinder, for the Canon 5D3 etc, which is suitable for 3.2" screens. This pic is for reference and perhaps an idea. The issue with finding the right magnification has to do with the focal length/point, size of the magnifier and the piece that would connect to the screen.
Is it just me or does it seem like the Note 4 camera app is imposing a sort of tilt shift effect on every photo?

This appears to be happening on every single photo I take... even after the latest update. I'm using stock settings on the stock camera app in auto mode.

That's just the depth of field effect you get from having a wide aperture. A wide aperture means more light hitting the sensor, but a narrower depth of field (only objects near the focal point will be in focus). It usually means the part you're focusing on will be sharper and brighter though. I prefer this look as it's closer to what you get with an actual camera. Haven't played much with the camera or settings, but if you can manually adjust the aperture (bigger f number means smaller aperture) you'll get more in focus but potentially less sharp in low light due to longer exposures. Everything in photography is a trade off between exposure time and depth of field.
Does anyone here suffer from heavy lens flare on Redmi Note 7?
I know sometimes lens flare happen when you take picture directly into light source. But I think this amount is too much and it's also has a weird shape.
So it is normal for Redmi Note 7 to has this kind of lens flare?

Rn7 don't have great optics, so it is expected. Camera sensor is ok, but whit out good optics pictures still will be average.

Nonsense. Nothing to do with that. This sometimes happens even with top of the line DSLR cameras. You're shooting into the sun!!!
Light can reflect off of the sensor (CMOS) and bounce back to the lens and back again to the sensor. Some cameras have up to 6 an more lenses!!!
This is not a defect of your phone. It’s just physics playing tricks on you. The lenses on this kind of cameras are so much compressed, reflections are impossible to avoid.
Even iPhone have the famous green dot... https://www.reddit.com/r/ios/comments/9qznxm/iphone_xsxs_maxxr_glowing_green_dot_in_images/
