Hey guys, so i have got the i9505 and i have a few questions about it.
1: It's pretty laggy but i really do like the look of the s4 touchwiz, are there any tweaks/mods that I can do to increase performance? 2nd option is me installing a rom, any recommendations?
2: I know it's pretty far-fetched but is their like an app where you can install apps on but it's sort of like a cloud storage so you dont have to install the app on your device or sd-card. I don't think there are but if it is possible it would be epic. If there are no apps like that, is there an option to automatically save app data to a cloud storage (yeah i have titanium backup pro, but i dont think when you put your files in dropbox/google drive it will actually read them from dropbox/google drive. And when you sync app data with dropbox/google drive i dont think it removes the files of your sd card.
So if someone knows something about these 2 topics I'd like a reply
Thanks for reading,
See the custom roms are on preference.
Few like the touchwiz based roms.
Others like pure android. (CM AOSP PW Mahdi etc etc)
Touchwiz roms are beautified by the devs. We have to apply themes on CM/AOSP to get the beauty and can change it as and when we like.
CM/AOSP roms have better update support. A touchwiz dev might just abandon the project after a few updates.
Plus CM/AOSP based roms use less ram than touchwiz roms.
On the other hand, TW based roms are a boon for the i9505 people. Those who dont want to trip the knox counter can flash a few TW based roms without tripping knox!!
And TW based roms bring out the real beauty and 0% bloat and lag on the TW launcher and additional aspects.
It is all on preferences. You can check the i9505 Android Development and i9505 Original Android Development thread for your picks
I was a TW rom lover too, till I flashed a CM11 based rom
You can get the TW feel on CM11 bdw
"If someone helps, never forget to hit thanks ? "
Thanks i'll search for some ROMs then

I just got my Note 3 and I'm wondering what ROMs I should give a spin.
I tend to like MIUI roms as I had on my note 1, but also paranoid android is really fast and unbloated, I was also wondering what ROMs conserve multiwindow and s-pen features, maybe only samsung based ROMs have those. So yeah, what ROMs do you guys deem worthy?
Try them and see for your self.
I'm on Alliance 4.3, great battery, super smooth, I'm not going to update KitKat anytime soon.
Some are on 4.4 KitKat, they can maybe say a few words.
Why is ROM development so stumped? I thought I'd have TONS of ROMs to choose from like on my Note 1

Most important is that the roms and kernels that are out there are all very good You have sammy based roms, AOKP/AOSP and CM11, what more do you want? Plus you have Xposed framework to modify what you want.
I'm with CEPi - I run Alliance, Lean kernel and Philz Touch recovery. As stated it is a 4.3 based ROM so you'd need to see what your phone is as stock. If you're on 4.3, keep in mind if you go KK (4.4) you will be unable to come back. Also if your 4.3 is vMJ7 or above, you WILL blow the Knox counter by rooting, Custom ROM'ing or custom recovery.
If you're on KK already then you are restricted to the KK ROM's - like CEPi I can't comment on them as I see no reason to install a new ROM when Alliance is fast, stable & great battery.
Used X-note, now testing FlexKat.
The entire Dev section consists of roms of someone's choice. Ofcourse, some people prefer a certain rom, some don't. At the end, it is entirely up to you to decide what you like, and this can only be achieved by trying them yourself.
If you need a starting point, most rom's can be classified into two categories, aosp-based and touchwiz-based. You can try one or two on either side to see which category your preference falls in, and then try out some other options in that category.
On that note, thread closed as we do not allow such type of threads here, since they often snowball into heated arguments over personal preference.

Hello.
It's the fist time I'm gonna flash a modded Rom cause after a year the phone its staring to do weird things. I'm still at 4.3 Jellybean.
My phone is rooted with stock TouchWiz.
The less wissles and options the better. I don't use the S-pen and would like to have a simple and battery friendly Rom with a good camera app.
Also I'm worry for the sdcard problems i read everywhere and stability.
I guess a Rom with 4.4.4 is better than 4.4.2 but in this so not sure.
What Rom do you recommend?
Thank you!
first you need to choice if you want TW or CM rom...
if TW you need to upgrade bootloader and flash stock KK rom and root and flash custom...
if CM11 no need to upgrade KK and you can flash what you want
for CM12 you need KK bootloader too
Thank you for quick answer.
I read that Cyanogenmod Roms are not optimized and made for Note 3.
Is there a Rom made specifically for N9005 with the features I posted?
1. Go to the Note 3 Android development subforum.
2. Read about the different ROMs.
3. Decide which one you want to try.
4. Flash it.
5. Repeat as necessary.
There are no short cuts. Do the research yourself, only you know if you'll be happy with your choice.
Ok thank you.
Will all the Kitkat based Roms have issues with the Sdcard I read I forums?
I recommend to you the rom which made by Alexander.. And omega rom as a second choice.. Good luck

please, i have this rom
[ROM][N9005] Galaxy S5 Stock ROM - Final v40.0 - Clean, Fast and Stable - [OTA]
have i already in kk bootloader? or not sure? how can i check?
thanks
I'm trying to find Alexander Rom you suggested but i cant find it in the forum. (I'm new with all this about roms).
What is the name of Alexander's Rom?
Well you can use stock ROM, and uninstall all the nonsense apps with any root supported uninstall app, but you still will be forced to have those S related features, S-Scroll, S-Stay and all those nonsense features (which I never have used, ever). Now if you AOSP way then you won't have all those things and you will have a clean ROM but you will miss the lovely S-Pen integration of TouchWiz based ROMs.
So you have to decide according to your preference. I don't believe that AOSP/CM based ROMs are 100% bug free for Note 3, but please correct me if I am wrong. I am an AOSP lover too.
And I also don't believe 4.4.4 has much advantage over 4.4.2 other than some security patches.

Hi,
I have the same s5 w8 you do, and I've run XtreStoLite for a while. I highly recommend it. It's stable and debloated. It's basically touchwiz without the problems.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2732110
If you prefer a more ASOP look, try the Sonic AOKP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development/klte-t3044804
They're both LP ROMs, but I've been very happy with both. I find that the Sonic ROM lacks the functionality (Finger Print, SHealth, Gesture) that I want, but it's very simple, and highly customizable. Perfectly stable too.
Good Luck
i received a S5 and of an debt and i will use it, Im a motorola user and im used with rom's like "minimal ROM" with everything ripped, There are any ROM for S5 duos like that?
Thanks
You can use any touchwiz based rom and remove features you don't want at installation. Try epsilon for example that what i used.
If you don't want touchwiz at all, you can just flash aosp or cm rom, it removes all samsung features.

I hate this touchwiz, i will try this epsilon, it work the fingerprint?
Why its so dificult find a clean ROM for samsungs, touchwiz + bloatware sux Hahahah
Thanks
You can choose what stock features to leave, and fingerprint is one of them, so yes you can make fingerprint work.
There is also XtreStoLite which consists in a very debloated rom (500mb or so) and in an add-on which has every samsung feature from wich you can chose only those you need (like fingerprint or one hand mode). An the battery life its just...amazing. Minimal rom...maximal batt.
Hi,
I have a Galaxy I9505, I'm not too familiar with custom roms but there appears to be almost too much choice.
At the moment it has Stock 5.0.1 and I'm constantly clearing space. Overnight a handful of built in system apps have created nearly 1gb of temp/cache data which is rediculas.
I'm looking for a custom rom to replace the stock rom but I dont really want to try ever one to see which I prefer.
I want a clean stable rom with no bundled apps and good battery performance. What is the best rom that fits this description based on your experience?
Thanks for your advice.
Aaron
No custom ROMs come with unnecessary apps.
But the AOSP and Slim6 ROMs have even less apps than most. They also have less features.
