[Discussion][Poll] Anyone that is still using a "legacy" Xperia 2011 Device?
As the title states..
Anyone that is still using anyone of the legacy and lovely Xperia 2011 (Sony Ericsson Holy grail and Grand Finalé devices) around here?
What ROM?
What kernel?
Etc?

BUMP!
Share your nowaday experience of those holy grails, and discuss both bad and good memories those have given you. Don't be so strict with thinking on how you writes stuff in here, just stay on topic and discuss everything that the "legacy" Xperia 2011 devices has given you and various memories / user experiences thru your usage of those devices, and all is fine.
@all
Actually I'm using it as backup, unrooted, with last OS update.

Have you tried any of the LegacyCM 4.4.4 builds?
My girlfriend is enjoying my old Xperia Neo (hallon) with CarbonRom 4.4.4 and a friend gave me an Arc S that i've updated to 4.4.4 also. Both run amazingly well with kitkat considering their old hardware. Can't wait for some Lollipop rom to test it in both phones.

When I had my Arc S unlocked from O2, the bootloader unlock allowed changed from No to Yes.
So unlocked BL and running CM11.
Running nice and fast too.
I use an arc s as a secondary device.
Stock ICS rom rooted.
Very nice phone
CM-11-20141224-UNOFFICIAL-LegacyXperia-anzu
Android 4.4.4 on custom kernel.
Running LegacyXperia CM13 on my Xperia Arc. Got this phone as a hand-me-down as a replacement for a Samsung Galaxy Trend with a failing battery. I have to say I'm so pleased to be back with a Sony Ericsson device, I had an X8 (GingerDX) before the Samsung. These things are so easy to root, install custom roms and I love physical buttons. Marshmallow runs well enough for daily usage with 16GB Samsung EVO SD card. Much snappier than the Samsung with stock rom.
Edit: sorry for bringing back an old thread, heh
i still use it, official stock rom 4.0.4 ICS, love it... not going to change this phone ever.... maybe i will add xperia m4 aqua and use them both... but Arc s will be primary... also i'm hw buttons fanboy !:laugh:
still using the arc with CM 10.1
I tried legacy xperia lolipop version and I couldn't handle all the lag so I went back to cm 10.1
I'm thinking I might just try the marshmallow one

Andreas Makris (Bin4ry), Diogo Ferreira (defer) and Alin Jerpelea (jerpelea, FXP) will be maintaining these devices from now on.
We would like to stress that work on the 2011 lineup would not have been possible without the strong involvement of Sony Ericsson with the developer community. In addition to providing unlockable bootloaders to all new devices, they provided us both with devices and technical expertise that proved invaluable in making all this happen.

Guys, come and say thank to jerpelea (or FXP) and FreeXperia Team, or buy them some beers. He's been working very hard to be able to merge our Xperia series to CM.
It is still early in development, so many things still need to be done before our nightlies can be officially built.

uhm. we will get our own nightly build? I think so.
This is a good news for everyone, wew.. haha...
Hope this will keep running and "WISHING GET A ICE CREAM SANDWICH because i want it" haha... Keep waiting.... (But why the blogs of cyanogenmod doesn't update our phone??)
have you read the post from the link ?
"you may be interested in knowing that the upcoming CyanogenMod release will feature support for 10 new devices"
just wait for the release
whats the diference between CM and gingerDX? does it have more stuff? faster? batterybug-less? or is it just a great news because it means better support for ours X8s?
Upcoming? 7.2 or earlier? Cant wait
yes some one please tell me the advantages of this?
does this mean a fully stable cm7 rom?
it meens more advanced developers working together to make there own CM version
If I understood dx well, our FXP's rom will be officially supported by CyanogenMod and will get all the official updates as soon as possible.
Or CyanogenMod devs and FXP will build it together?
Anyway, great news and be patient... we have everything now
Sorry for the noob question, but I can't perfectly understand...
What to mean "official"? Its a CM7 upgrade from Cyanogenmod, and its a "Custom" ROM? Or CM team works together with SE, and everyone can upgrade to CM7 with the SE PC Companion?
(I think ist a Cyanogen upgrade...)
Wow, it keeps on getting better for us

Ok, so it's not like this that I have 23 hours of free time each day, and it's not that any and every suggestion that pops up on this thread will be looked into, but I just wanted to ask you guys...
What new do you want on the X10?
I'll update the list below as and when people keep submitting their requests/suggestions
Of course please refrain from posting things like
"I want Windows 8 to run on my X10"
I want some suggestions that are at least 'plausible' if not 'possible'
-------------------------------------
1. Get camera working on ICS/CM9/AOKP
2. Dual boot gb and ics
3. CM7 kernel based on latest FXP125 sources with more features
4. CM7 and CM9 kernels for locked bootloaders
5. Xperia S ics rom port
6. JellyBean for X10 (in distant future, so not thinking of it right now)
-------------------------------------
I wanna ask you if you can build a kernel based on fxp125 cm7 kernel with additional governors, oc etc. Just like your previous one but based on updated by fxp 125 one. Thanks
Sent from my X10i using xda app-developers app
Not asking for me but build cm7/cm9 based kernel for locked bootloader ( I am already unlocked lol). I dont know if its possible
I know that it will be an impossible work....but :
porting Jelly Bean for x10i..... Obviously the hardware features of the x10 are those....so you may try to bring the technical prescriptions of design or setting
thxxx
Focus on ICS ..
I think we have enough GB based roms..
It's jealy bean time beach!!!
Send from beneath my cloak of magic
I think your suggestions of a working camera and locked bootloader kernals would be great
1. Get camera working on ICS/CM9/AOKP
Dual booting ics along with gingerbread.. make gingerbread kernel default and we can boot ics by killing it.. something like that!!!

I believe making ICS kernel default would be better and getting the camera to work on ICS/CM9/AOKP.
Lord give us a team KTG 3.x kernel for ics. Whoops, wrong thread... jk. I would love it if you assisted tsuyou kou and the KTG team with their kernel development, as i believe the last commit to the 2.6.32.9 kernel was 1 month ago. Not bashing their work or asking for etas. Just hoping they can get more devs (assuming they want help of course...)

seeing that cyanogenmod has released their official CM 9 for around 40 devices, would it possible to make a port of that to the x10? I might sound like an idiot, but that seems easier than building an entire ROM from scratch...

@Hashy what happened to your old Kernel and ROM that you would start from scratch ?? I mean any reason for that ?? y not continue dev. cuz that would be easier and faster isn't it.. did the old ROM boot ? did you boot into 4.3 yet I mean through any means ?

And that's the reason why we don't have 3.4 kernel and 4.3 ROM yet. It's because nobody wants to share work with others or work together on one kernel and one ROM. Anyway i wish you all luck.
hmmm.. unity is strength.. Xperia play is no more about Cosmic Dans Turbo Kernel.. or Lupus's Kernel.. or AOKP or CyanagenMod.. (I mean all this in a good way) we need a "ROM" 4.2/4.3 for Xperia Play and a "Kernel" for Xperia Play.. the brand, the dev, no matters no more.. and the way things are,, I really think dev's should team up to make one Good Rom.. and One Good Kernel.. cuz I don't think Xperia Play would last till Android 6.0 .. so just this device one good last push.. and see how things work out. Split work will only increase/duplicate work.. delay the ROM/Kernel and maybe the ROM would never get rid of bugs.
Guys I don't think teaming up is going to happen, the old thread got deleted so I can't show you any of the stuff that happened. But it got pretty nasty so lets not bring working together up and just focus on getting a stable 4.3 build for our Xperia Play's

Actually yes that seems like a good idea, as 4.3 is only a minor update of 4.2 and people have had success on the play before building 4.2 (without wifi though). But my main concern is being ready for 4.4, which if it is as ram light as everyone says and runs just as fast as gingerbread as everyone is saying, would be perfect for our Xperia Play's. But beggars can't be choosers as I always say

Probably you haven't understand the problem: the problem wasn't you using some of the lxp's commits, the problem was you not asking permissions like everyone else; now probably mike want let you use his work as a base, but it isn't because he is selfish and didn't allow the other people to use his work, it is because you go against the common rule

Xperia z3
Do you mean a Xperia-themed rom? Because there's one right now in the Android Development of this forum.
What? Xperia Lollipop ROMs are just for Xperia devices, as far as i know, Sony is not going to make Xperia Lollipop a open source thing, if Xperia M2 receive an official Lollipop update, we can try to port it, as its the same hardware. we can surely have an Xperia Themed ROM, but i don't know why would someone do that, Xperia Lollipop is ugly as hell (in my opinion)

I'm sure many here will not see this as a "bad bad bad news". Having an official lollipop firmware in a 2.5 old device is more than anyone could ask for. Having a solid 5.1.1 build is better than having the latest build.

I'm not surprised. It's fantastic that we even got 5.1, the Z is so old now. All good things come to an end
But what I am wondering, if someone will port 6.0 AOSP... Not CyanogenMod or other forks, they are always unstable and breaking things. And will take a long time anyway.
