With the couple of reviewers stating the battery isn't that great. Let's see if it they're right..my "screen on time" was a little over 5 hours*...
This is mine after a full 100% with auto brightness with moderate to heavy use..
Edit. remember to include "screen on time screenshots" unlike my OP.

After running down the out of the box battery to 20%, gave it a full charge. Since then, sitting at 6.5 hours off battery, 2 hours 1m 46s of screen on, mostly surfing the web, facebook, a handful of texts, using the Moto Display, Wi-Fi on half that time, off the other half, and about 10 pictures, 79% left.

Screen on time is the most important battery stat. Any chance you can edit your OP to include a screenshot of it starting from fully charged?
Yeah please post screen on times when reporting back.
I picked mine up yesterday, got it all setup, and charged over night. I'll be able to report back later this afternoon once it's had some significant uptime. I also have my LG G3 and Moto X 2013 next to me, and I'm trying to keep the usage uniform across all 3 to compare.

Got mine and it was at about 44% out of the box. Ram it down until it shut down and have been having baby use with it since (except for about 7 hours sleeping). And yeah, that is totally a rogue app. Never had problems with it before though. :/

This is comparing a Verizon G3 and Turbo, as well as a T-Mobile Moto X 2013. I've always had issues with the wireless keeping the phones awake, so the battery life isn't what most of you would probably see, but it's still a fair comparison.
DROID Turbo:
LG G3:
Moto X 2013:
So basically it's doing better than the G3 and way better than Moto X 2013. I agree with you though I think the poor Wifi reception is causing the phone to be awake more often or spend more battery maintaining signal. I'm at about 5 hours with 1 hr SOT and 80% battery. Seems reasonable but I thought it'd be better.

That's my conclusion as well, I will run these through the night and I'll have a better comparison, then this weekend will be real world use.
It has something to do with our wireless infrastructure at work that causes devices to stay away 90% of the time, at the end of the work day I'll have 6-7 hours of it being away with very little SOT.
I'm surprised that it's only a slight improvement over the G3 though, I was expecting more.
Still trying to get through my first few cycles. So far this morning my phone is at 90% with only 25 minutes of screen on time. I did run google play music on the drive over here. But still, those are rather terrible battery stats, hoping to get through the first few cycles and get better battery life.

You gotta give it more than the first 10% of one cycle to get an accurate representation. Let us know after the battery is down more.
Still gonna let it get lower before charging again. This is with a full charge. I am coming from the G3 and batt life seems way better on this, but can't tell since not even 1 charge cycle

Exactly, it takes few charging cycles for the battery and the phone to calibrate and maximize the battery life.
Alright here's mine.
Bought yesterday, charged to 100% overnight, used all day at work.
Thus far appears much better than my previous phone, an LG G2, but battery life has never been a problem for me.
Did well in phone arena tests though:

SOT isnt the only thing that shows how a battery is good or not. Like I said, I streamed a lot...with my G3, it would have crapped out long before going a full day, and the battery is only about 20% bigger. I got more than that out of the Turbo. Also note, this was the full first cycle. If you dont know already, the battery will get better after a full cycles. So Im loving it. I only have one true gripe and that is the low call volume, but I know that can be fixed through an update, which I hope they do soon.

Hi Everyone,
Quick question for all that have updated their Evos to 1.47.651.1-1.32.651.6, have you noticed an increase in battery life?
I can say unequivocally that I have, and it has made me fall in love with my Evo all over again.
Last night I did a test, on full battery life I left my phone unplugged for approximately 8 hours. The following morning I noticed it drained little more than 20%. Prior to the update, it would drain almost completely overnight.
Has anyone else noticed similar increases in their charge lifespan? I'm curious.
I have to give kudos to HTC...this being my second HTC phone after migrating from the G1 - the update is great and painless!! Can't wait for Froyo 2.2. :]
over 20% drop in 8 hours on standby? that is hardly positive. my EVo only drops between 3% and 5% in 7 hours of standby.
Mine has been fantastic, as per my post in this topic. Currently I'm at 95% after 3 hours of use.

Such a vast improvement huh? Well I guess I'll have to do that test for myself. I've noticed some improvements but not enough to miss my old iPhone's battery life. Could also be because I was one of those idiots dupt into buying the AMZER 1800mAh battery (Which let me tell you; gives you NO increase, at $50)
Prior to the update, I would lose nearly all my battery life after 8 hours. I could probably do a better job of managing apps and whatnot, but for a single update to add such a leap in battery performance I can't raise my nose to HTC!
Been off the charger for a little over 5 hours - just hit 90%. I usually have the quick drop into the low 90's within minutes - didn't happen today. That was a first!

About the same here. Maybe double that if bluetooth is on.
Losing that much battery while in standby is not normal IMO. You should be losing around 5% during that time, 10% tops. Definitely check your sync settings and whatnot.

Has the Evo lowered your standards? 20% for 8 hours is ridiculously low, maybe you are not managing apps and services properly. I can easily get a full night of rest starting at 100% and have 95% when I wake up.

That would be improbable to me. I've never gotten battery life like that with ANY mobile device I've had (and you can see that is quite a few). I'm assuming that when you say "standby" you mean sleeping with the screen off and not completely powered off. I could see it happening with the latter option but never the first--especially with the radio on.

Lowered my standards? Not by a long shot buddy. If anything at all, the Evo has been a testament to the Android platform's amazing scalability and robustness.
I'm coming from a G1, so buying the Evo was a major Android technology jump. I had big time complaints with battery life, and in less than two weeks I get a major update that significantly increased the device's overall life - all without having to shell out cash for a so-called "extended battery".
I'd say that's a pretty big deal, and HTC didn't have to tell me to "hold the phone differently." lol

Exactly WHICH iphone was this? Because I had a 3g and a 3gs and the ONLY way I made it a whole day when I actually used the phone was to buy one of those mophie juicepack things. 3 hours of use, or 3 hours off the charger?
I followed your advice in your thread too, btw. No task killer, only autostarts and battery saver profile in dconfig.
Went 1d15hrs (39 hours) without using a charger with about a 6hr awake time.
I'm waiting on a 3500 mAh battery to be released within the next week or two (supposedly) for 70 bucks.
The 1800 mAh batteries do nothing. I was strongly advised against it at a local battery store here in town.
Either way, my phone did not receive the new update, so I can't see any difference in my phone life.
I'm not downloading it because I enjoy my root and wifi tether. I hope someone figures out a way to mod the update for us rooted users, after they release it again. Haha.
the update for root has been out since yesterday morning. used it on my phone, it works perfect.
I am noticing a better battery life after the upgrade also.
I bought the 2 batteries with charger from ebay for $10. they've been working great, almost the same as the stock battery.
As we all know, the Galaxy S uses a Li-Po battery.
Having previous expirience with those batteries (R/C Helicopters), i know that they require 5-10 cycles of full drain-full charge to reach full capacity and start their normal life cycle.
Not too long ago, there was a thread complaining about battery life here, but i think it was due to people checking usage time on the first or second charge only.
In this thread, i'd like to hear your opinions about battery life, but please-
Only those who passed 5 FULL drain-charge cycles, reply. We need some objective information about it.
Personally-
I'm after my 4th charge, and already seeing HUGE improvement. When i recieved it i barely managed to go through a single day, and now i'm almost 2 days since i last charged it, played some games, browsed a little, made a few calls, and i'm still over 65%.
Waiting to do 2-3 more charges and reach optimal state to see what it's worth.
Mine is a Li-Ion and lasts about a day with almost constant use.

You are correct in that initially we were told the battery type would have been a Li-Pol.
However, since the phone's release it has now come to light that the battery is in fact a Li-Ion.
I made a post that mentions this here if you wish to have a read.
I’ve had my phone approx 2 weeks, so I’m on my 5 or 6th battery recharge. My phone has been on for 1 day 20hrs now. I’ve talked on the phone for about two hours and surfed for about ¾ of an hour. Wifi has been on all the time – Bluetooth about 3hrs. Current battery level is 70% - I must say after all the gloom and doom re the latest smartphones I’m more than happy with the battery life so far and does seem to be getting better all the time.

I'm pretty sure it will.
When i got my phone i charged it to full, and before the day ended i needed to chrage it again.
And now:
Last charge was thursday morning (GMT+2), and now, after 2 and a half days, i still have 40%.
I could probably go on for another full day.
My first few charges barely made it through the working day, but now the phone still has plenty of charge after 24hours. Although right now is an exception, as the lady is playing Abduction on it and will probably keep at it until the battery dies

Correct.... She's far too busy keeping me in check, looking after our Granddaughter and the Farm.
I got my replacement SGS today (had to send the original one back as Carphone Warehouse messed up the order so had to send everything back just to get a new SIM) and been hammering it for 14 hours, literally 80% of that running games, using WiFi, bluetooth and GPS and I only got it down to 25% and hadn't even charged it to 100% before I couldn't wait any longer. If the battery does get better after the initial charge, I will have no problem with this phone.
Further to my earlier post...
Charged the phone to full before bed last night... All of the power widget functions of two exchange email accounts and hotmail updating every hour.
So with no other use for 8 hours the battery was at 91% when I woke up. Battery status confirmed that 57% had gone on standby and 29 % on idle
So... Presuming this bsttery use is constant when idle... My phone will be down to 70 % by 24 hours with no use?
Crabby
It varies greatly according to reception.
Good network coverage= less work for the transceiver inside the device=less power drain.
It's not really constant.

I'm in the same boat as OP. Think a few cycles will show how great this battery really is.
Same here. I'm on day 2, so I'm hoping it does improve.
battery life is pretty decent for me. Power using gets me through a day link to my moto 360 via bluetooth and on wifi about 50% of the time.
I've been listening to Poweramp since eight this morning. A little surfing, and I'm at 73%. I expect it might be a bit better once the battery has gone through a couple of charge cycles.
One thing I learned, was download booster is a huge battery hog! If you turn it on, it'll take days to charge to 100%.
I know the note is doing better than my old s3 though, because doing my same run using both my tracks and S health, rocket player, and taking panorama pics, I still used 10% less battery than my s3 did only running my tracks and rocket player.

Almost 12 hours or moderate use and the battery usage was 90%. To me coming from the Note 2 this is not an improvement. Anyone coming from a Note3 with any other thoughts.
This is my results coming from a 100% battery charge.
idk how the hell you guys are getting like 5 hour screen on time. how quick do you drop from 100 to 99 after you unplug from charger? mines pretty quick. it's annoying. the g2 would stick on 100 percent for 20 minutes of screen on time and an hour off charger. this phone is at 90 by then. ridiculous. maybe I'm just spoiled by the g2s amazing battery life.
right now I'm at 12 percent left, with 14 hours 45 minute off charger and 3 hour 26 minutes screen on time. android system is my humber one battery user.. not even screen. the hell?

I say give it a few more days in order to better judge the battery. For the G3, the first few days had terrible battery life. The battery would last less than 20hrs and about 3hrs screen time. I was getting ready to dump it, but soon the battery life picked up. Now I always get over 24hrs with at least 4.5hrs screen time. Obviously two different devices from different manufacturers, but the point is to not be quick to judge it. My Note 4 will probably be arriving early next week.

Hey guys
I've had my Sony Xperia Z3 for just over a year now and im considering my next phone purchase. I really enticed by purchasing a S6 Edge+ HOWEVER battery life is the only thing stopping me.
The Z3 battery life easily lasts for two days without me ever worrying about the battery life. I know Lollipop has a mobile radio bug in it which would effect the edge plus but im wondering would two days use ever be possible on the Edge+? I normally get around 6 hours SOT over two days with my Z3 and don't want to be let down too much with my next phone.
I have the same situation... just came from a Z3. Got my edge+ a week ago and, tbh, batt life is way worse, but I am starting to think that I have a faulty cellphone. I am getting around 10h of batt, even after debloating it and using Pixel OFF.
otoh, there are lots of threads running right now, discussing batt life and most people say that it is pretty good.
It's been 5 nights and I complsin it drains 1% per hour.

Hmm so you basically only get a day's use of the phone on average?
It depends how I use it...
Can't tell as my usage is not regular
For sure not 10% per hour with a normal use
But I'm 90% debloated
i find it good, im not yet rooted but after i am whenever i can manage to actually do it i estimate it will be even better, but in general it's all about your usage, you'll definitely get a day out of medium/heavy usage.
do yourself a favor and buy a Aukey plus, ultra fast charging.

Wow really? im shocked i havent read that was possible in any reviews i've seen. Could you provide screenshots of your battery stats? If two days is realistic and easy to achieve then i may possible jump to the Edge plus boat.
Mine wont even last 6 hours without draining. Bluetooth on, 4G on, backlight on auto. What's the point in having a high tech phone if you stunt it's features? I just charge at least twice or thrice a day but admittedly, I do miss the battery life of my last phone (iphone 6 plus) coz it really could last a whole day with the same features on.

i find it good, im not yet rooted but after i am whenever i can manage to actually do it i estimate it will be even better, but in general it's all about your usage, you'll definitely get a day out of medium/heavy usage.
do yourself a favor and buy a Aukey plus, ultra fast charging.

the original charger isnt anywhere near as fast as charging as the Aukey is, even thge usb cable that came with the Aukey is better than the one that came with the phone.
I dont think i will ever see 2 days. I use Bluetooth all day (synced to my Gear S), GPS is always on, autobrightness, etc. I can get through one day for sure, maybe half of the next day, but thats about it. Thats not using any kind of powersaving modes either. Its as good, or better than my note 4 with NONE of the damn problems (camera and HORRIBLE GPS), so i'll take it. Plus i have quick chargers everywhere...home, car, and an extra one.
I was very nervous switching to a sealed battery and no SD card support, but the 64gb is fine and the battery charges SUPER f'in quick
No real life review thread on this one yet, so let's get the ball rolling on this. Any Telstra customers with their device have anything to say on this?
I haven't felt the need to charge mine yet. Because I don't have one.
And no one still share his battery life...
Can you share with us guys? Like guys with Pixel XL did
So, i'm gonna give it a go.
I am really satisfied with the battery life after three days of being a daily driver.
After my day of work it has 31% left with google assistant/now, 70% WiFi 30% LTE, Bluetooth always on, auto adjust brightness 3.56 hours display time, most of the time i used chrome.
No pics because i don't know to add them via mobile browser.
For now: much better than my old nex5 and OnePlusX.
I like!
I just got mine today and fully charged it and then synced my n5x, rebooted and it was down to 90%. Highly intensive processing so I'll not judge by that. Did some more setup, charged again. Phone call for about 30 min, down to 95%. Not bad but not great. It's way too early for me to make a determination as some here have been running it for 3 days with better results.
I'll either update this post or make a new one depending on traffic. Overnight will tell me a lot. I've been getting about 0.5% - 0.8% / hour drain overnight on my 5x so let's see how this one does. One thing I will say is that the phone is beautiful, great size, great feel. great display and quick as a bug. If the battery holds up it's a definite keeper for sure. If any of you have an iPhone 6 or 6s, put them side by side and I dare you to tell them apart. lol.
There is another thread on this but my battery is abysmsl
Google Play services battery drain. No unusual apps, pretty much out of the box because its getting replaced already due to screen issues. Not sure why...
I have really high android OS usage, but still get great battery life. 4 hours SOT, 16 hours usage. Will be interesting to see what i can get when I find the cause of this Android OS drain
Phone calls kill me but otherwise not looking too bad.
Sent from my Pixel using XDA-Developers mobile app
The phone lasts me the entire day, but by the end of the day its pretty close to dying out.
So not as good as my S7 Edge, or even close, however it's good enough.
I charge my phone every night, anyways, so doesn't really bother me.
I was less than impressed to be honest. I'll know more when I actually spend a few days with it out and in use.
I must not use my phone all that much. So far, extremely better battery than my iPhone 5s. I guess it is a doubling in mAh but also a bigger screen. I am happy with it so far.
Definitely doesn't charge to 70% in 15 minutes though like they bragged about.

Well they said "7 hours of use" from 15 minutes of charging, whatever the hell that means lol.
Coming from a Galaxy S6 Edge I am very happy with my battery life. Currently I'm at 1 day 5 hrs with 2 hrs 5 min phone calls and 1 hr 47 min of screentime with about an hour of music in there....right now I have 28% left. I typically use my phone for browsing the web, chatting, work email and facebook so all in all I'm very pleased.

They never said that. They said 7 hours of use in 15 minutes.
I'm actually pretty happy with it so far. I have the regular Pixel and in my few full days of normal usage I'm getting through the day pretty easily. 8AM - 11PM or so leaves me with about 10% left on the phone, and usually approx 4.5 hours of screen on time. This is especially impressive to me since this is with GPS ON, Bluetooth ON, mostly on LTE with only "ok" reception in my office, auto-brightness set half way, everything syncing, connected to my gear fit 2. That's definitely better than I got on the 5x and way better than I was getting on my last phone - the galaxy s7. I was getting maybe at most 3.5 hours screen on time with the S7, and that was with GPS OFF, brightness set to around 30% or as low as I could set it and still see clearly, and even with a ROM that included battery optimizations (and yes it did seem to provide slightly more battery than stock).
So this is great thus far. If I were going out late or something after work then I would probably top it up, but otherwise this is the first time in awhile I haven't felt the compulsion to constantly plug in my phone when I get a chance for fear it will die on me. I also hope that this will only improve as development picks up and people release optimized ROMs/Kernels.
Can someone with good battery life compare this to what they get?
13 hours
at 64%
Android System 176mah
Android OS 156mah
Screen 1hr 15m (151mah)
Voice Calls 15m (88mah)

They did actually at their reveal, I watched
"which Google said can deliver up to 70 percent in after 15 minutes on a charger."

Overall I'm really satisfied with the battery. after a night and day of heavy use, games, browsing, installing apps I'm still at 20%. Hardly any power drained in standby.
Decent
Battery has been pretty good for me so far. Seems to be settling in with optimization after a few days. Dropped 0% overnight last night which is awesome.
GSAM Monitor is saying my average is 19 hrs on, 4.5 hours of screen on time usage, 1-2 hours of screen off usage like phone calls, music.
