Can anyone provide their stock recovery image from the WiFi-Xoom Jelly Bean JRO03H update? I need it for testing something.
Thanks!
sorry didnt see this earlier
did you get what you needed? having issues here at work and cant upload a recovery.img i have from a nandroid i took on 7/26, not sure if it is 03H though but i will upload it or send you a DropBox link
Yeah I'm good. Thanks though! Out of curiosity, how did you nandroid the stock recovery image? Wouldn't you have had to flash a custom recovery in order to do the android in the first place? As far as I know, the Xoom can't boot a recovery image without flashing...

well if this nandroid is from when i got it, i first put the US wifi firmware on it from motodev, then used fastboot to flash a CWM recovery, booted into recovery and did a nandroid, then flashed a custom rom...i think thats how i did it
i'll restore the nandroid and see whats what. if it is the stock recovery image (or any other img) then it will overwrite twrp correct?

Yep, it'll overwrite TWRP. Chances are 99% that the recovery image in your nandroid will be whatever recovery you used to make the nandroid in the first place.

No, you word have to root, then download the Android terminal editor, and dump the recovery image using the UNIX dd command. Not sure of proper syntax off the top of my head..
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2
yeah it would be something like this, but have to know the correct partition naming to make it work
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 of=/mnt/sdcard1/recovery.img
but then i think i have to flash a recovery to root it, have only found one way to root and that is with a flashable zip file. oh well, it was worth the try
Hi guys,
I just want to ask you how could I replace TWRP Recovery with CWM on my LG G2 D802 International? Are there any issue/incompatibility?
I have rooted and installed TWRP, but I have issue with installing CyanogenMod 10.2 Stable (I checked MD5 and downloaded it many times): as I understand is a problem of TWRP compatibility.

It depends on what you download. If you download the recovery.img you can use the app "flashify" to flash the recovery, or if you download a flashable .zip then flash it in recovery then reboot recovery.
There are also instructions on how to use adb and loki here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449670

Mandelbrot.Benoit thanks fot your reply.
I'm interested with the flashable zip, so I just need to download it from Official CWM topic the file called "ZIP FILES - OFFICIAL - TOUCH D802" and flash it from TWRP recovery?

I'm not 100% if thats a "lokified" recovery or not. I don't think you'll hurt anything by flashing it. If you can't flash something using that recovery then there is an issue and you can flash another recovery.

I used the Flashify app from the play store to switch recoveries with no issues.

What do You suggest?
Otherwise, there is also the app called ROM Manger which should automatically flash the CWM.
The important thing is that it does not create problems between recovery.

I see a "return to stock" guide on that page. Thanks, but I'm looking for just the Recovery - not the entire ROM.
You can find it here http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2
just check your version.

Downloaded the TOT file. I'm guessing the Recovery image is in it somewhere. I'm looking for JUST a Recovery zip.

THANK YOU, Sir.
Update:
Having trouble with Flashify. It doesn't see a recovery image, I guess. I tried putting the zip file, the extracted folder, AND the single file into Flashify's Recovery folder. No go. It doesn't see a file to flash for some reason. Am I doing something wrong?
Single file would be the way to go. No clue, have never actually used it. Just backed it up. Sorry. Maybe just may work for me. Shouldn't you be able to remove from a tot or extracted kdz bin?
Reverting to stock recovery in order to accept OTA updates ...
For anyone trying to apply any OTA updates, e.g., from Verizon, after modding your phone, restoring back to your previous version and wanting to go back to stock (for WHATEVER reason):
As you may have found out, trying to apply OTA updates with a custom recovery seemingly bricks your phone (it doesn't really, there are some nifty "dd" Linux commands you can use to get your phone to break out of the boot-loop it's stuck in).
Since I went back to my previously backed up stock ROM, I also wanted to revert to my stock recovery so that I could accept Verizon's OTA updates (if only because the popup reminders are annoying and a drain of the battery).
Here are the steps I followed, thanks to this thread:
- I downloaded the recovery.img from the link in Partager.info's post (#4) (choose the model subfolder which corresponds to your variant of the G2).
- I used "adb push" to copy the file from my computer to /sdcard (good to have on the sdcard partition as the rest get blown away when you flash a ROM)
- I installed "Flashify (for root users)" (found in the Play Store) on my phone
- I ran Flashify and chose the stock recovery file I downloaded which was in the /sdcard folder as expected (no need to put image files in specific folders; whatever works best for you)
- It flashed it in a blink of the eye and asked me to reboot; I did and it's worth mentioning I got the Android with the triangle (*clench*)
- I held the power button and forced it to shut down/reboot
- Upon reboot, I saw the Verizon boot animation (*unclench*)
- I checked for an update from Verizon and it prompted me to reboot and apply it; I clicked "Install now"
- It successfully rebooted and applied the update; what a relief to see the firmware update splash screen
Pfew. Thanks again, Partager.info and Steamer86.

Heres is a copy of my stock rooted NG2 ROM backup that i made with philz recovery (download supersu from playstore after boot) this backup is in .zip format so just extract the folder from it into your clockworkmod/backup folder and boot into recovery and restore it.

Hi Church,
the download link is working as for I'm downloading it now. Do you think this will fix my no sound problem?
I posted in another thread about not having sound after rooting my phone and one of the other members said I should go back to stock and reroot.
Hey churchey360,
I came across this thread and thought it was a great idea. So, I tried it and something didn't work right. I was on stock rooted NAE with Philz, so I thought this would work like a charm. It seemed to finish the restore OK, but then I can't get any cell network, no wifi or anything. Any recommendations? No big deal if not, I can reflash my NAE rom if necessary and start from there. Just thought your idea was pretty good. Thanks for posting, let me know if you (or anyone?) has any ideas. Thanks.

Root your device using boot.img method, install flashify and backup your recovery, I believe, it will backup your stock recovery but you have to put the extension ".img" in the backed up file, the backed up file would be without any extension.
Please confirm it from other sources.
