Quick Question , I'm sorry I've searched the General and Q&A section and I didn't find an answer. If locked bootloader is a concern, where can I buy a Note4 to use on AT&T network ? Anyone have experience getting one from T Mobile and use it on AT&T ? Any feed back. Thanks !

Hello, I know this question has come up many times. I hate to start a new thread about an old topic but im flat out lost. I just switched from my iPhone 4 to a Samsung Focus. It was sim unlocked and running 7.5 mango when i received it. Everything works fine on my carrier (i have a small local carrier) except the mms. Is there any way to edit the MMS settings yet or dev unlock it? Honestly I have no idea even where to start with all this. Any advice is greatly appreciated and again I'm sorry for starting a new thread for this old topic. Thanks
Download network connection from the Samsung zone in the marketplace.
Thanks, but since I posted this I have Dev unlocked the phone and Interop unlocked it so i could do the turn on APN settings. When i do that and reboot it says it cant find my data settings, I think because my carrier doesn't offer 3g and I've been told that edge wont push out the settings. I also tried the Samsung app network profile and it only gives me the ATT option. Any other options for me to get this working?
Thanks for the help
another question...is there any way to edit the ATT profile that the Network Profiles app pick up?
Hello again, I was just wondering if a solution has been found for this problem?
Hi everyone
I bought a Samsung Omnia 7 on T-Mobile UK last December and unlocked/debranded using the very helpful instructions here:
(can't post a link but search "wccftech debrand omnia 7")
I now use it on T-Mobile USA and it works great, except that there's no 3G. I've done a lot of reading on these and other forums and it's clear that it does not support the right frequencies to use 3G in the US. However, I have also seen mentions that the actual radio chip inside the phone can support these frequencies, it's just a matter of flashing the right ROM to unlock them. I'm really not an expert though and I've trawled the web looking for answers, then I came across this forum.
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction, or at least, tell me it can't be done.
Thanks in advance
Since you've debranded it warranty isn't the issue, so I would try either flashing new stock Rom or flashing with custom Rom.
You can easily find tutorials in windows phone 7 hacking and developing section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=606
Maybe there's some easier solution, since similar issues affected some developer/interlop unlocked phones upon their unlocking.
You can try Samsung Network Profile app form Samsung marketplace first. Maybe that will be enough.
I suppose you have filled apn sections for your provider in cellular data section? If not you should do so according to your provider.
I hope sth of this will help.
You could try to flash a specific radio FW from Focus AT&T(only the radio). Look inside the Focus sub-forums, I used to flash radios from Omnia7 on my Focus and there were no hiccups.
Hey guys!
first i would like to say thank you.
i'm following this forums for a long time. I may not have anything to contribute, but i do read and learn here a lot. keep it up, you rock!
Secondly, i would like to ask for a little help, i tried to look for an answer here but i get a little confused - can't understand which problem i have:
i'm from Israel, and 2 weeks ago, i was at the US. I bought a brand new S5 from Best-Buy, and i specifically asked for an unlocked one - for use OUTSIDE the US.
and it has a verizon sim card inside (new i guess), and verizon logo on the back and as a splash screen.
when i got back to Israel, i inserted a local sim card and unfortunately - it doesn't work.
* i do get signal of my local carrier, but no cellular data can be used (wifi works fine)
* i get an error at the notifications center - that the sim card is unsupported
* i do not get the "enter unlock code" message
* at the settings-> more networks-> mobile networks ->global data roaming access menu, i get something about roaming outside the US (which might give a hint about the unlock state of the phone i think)
would be very glad to have your help, guys!
thanks a lot!
Tomer.
**** edit: i got the cellular data working (updated APN), but still have the: "Phone Activation: The SIM card is from an unknown source" message...)

Welcome to the forum.
Samsung region locks phones to discourage buying a phone for use in a different part of the world. Your phone is also intended for use with the US carrier Verizon, hence the setup message about not having activated a Verizon account.
Less soluble is your apparent intent to use this phone in Israel. You've apparently bought a 900V model which is not well suited to the frequency bands there. Samsung sells the 900F model in Israel. You would have done well with something like a US 900T, if not a 900F but the 900V model that you bought is intended for Verizon's CDMA network, not the GSM system in the middle east.
As a result you probably will have no coverage whatsoever in the 4G or LTE bands. Also, the Verizon model is one of the few that has a locked bootloader which will prevent you from using custom kernels or a conventional custom recovery.
A simple search of the forum will tell you how to resolve the Verizon error message and your other questions. Or look in my post history as I have answered these questions at length in previous threads.
It's a good habit to search the forum for an answer before posting. There is a wealth of information in existing threads and you could have easily found immediate answers to all of your questions. And remove the need for us to answer the same questions over and over. These are questions that have been asked and answered dozens of times.
