I checked it out at my local corporate store, it was just the red and black 32g models . I had to test out the camera since no one is saying anything about the clarity of it.. And I must say its pretty good. Better then my nexus 5 and all the prior moto x and droid lineup

I thought it was pretty good, I only navigated through the menus and the camera and its mostly dark colors throughout the menus. But it was pretty good in my eyes .Only problem with the 32g is that they look and feel so much like the other droids

I saw all three at my local store a couple of nights ago. The moron that made the display tags for them labelled them all "16GB $179.99 on a two year contract". The person that greeted me at the door didn't even know that they were in the store. Inspiring.

It feels softer/less slick than most ballistic nylon that I've handled. Also snagged all of the microscopic burs on my skin, like a microfiber cloth. Caused a "nails on a chalkboard" sensation. I'm set on the 64GB though so I'll have to live with it.

Thats discouraging. I'll have to feel it out a bit, I could see that getting annoying. I'll probably end up buying that one anyway, cuz I reeaaally don't like the kevlar look anymore. It was cool when they first started doing it with the OG Razr and such, but now it just seems tacky and dated.
I've never seen the Kevlar phones of the past, but I thought it looks very good on turbo... Extremely well built. I did like the feeling of the fiberglass phones better on my hand, but will opt for the Kevlar for personal use. I actually like the looks of the Kevlar more than the moto leather or wood.

Curious if it would get any better with time once it's "broken in". I feel like it would be annoying, but it could also smooth out the fibers as you handle it.
Went to the VZW store in the skyway (pretty small store) and they only have the MGF models out on the floor. Might hit the store near home after work and see if they have the nylon out. I liked what I saw, though. A bit bigger than I imagined, but I liked the 2 minutes I spent with it.

I'm leaving for vacation on the 18th, giving me three business days to receive the device (UPS doesn't deliver on Saturdays, I believe) which is already making me nervous. If I do actually receive the device, I'm absolutely terrified that I won't have a case, especially considering this device is made mostly of glass. I've seen a couple but none of them are actually available until the 17th at the earliest. Are there any available right now? I'm not being picky at all. Anything will work. It can definitely be something temporary. Hell, I'll even accept silicon. That's how desperate I am.
I haven't been able to find much at all. But if you're looking for a quick fix, there are some leather pouches on ebay being marketed for the Nex4. I've contacted one of the ebay sellers and asked about the dimensions....They said it was the correct size for it.

Yeah, it's not exactly what I'm looking for either. But considering my luck with phones in the past.....I need something at least. I want a really good case, but I don't want to get the phone and wait a week or two for a case to be produced and then break it.... That's No Bueno.

Exactly. And I wouldn't be so worried if I were going to be at home. But I'm going to be staying in a cabin with wood floors and in a largely populated area Black Friday shopping. It's basically a recipe for disaster. In a way, it might be a good thing if I did wait...but there's no way I can do that :laugh:

I did consider this, but it seems that it won't be released until the 20th. I ordered a front protector (which I might cancel and order both the front and back soon) from XOSkins that is apparently supposed to ship out on the 13ths. I'm taking a ton of gambles with this one.

Black Friday!!!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!! But it does make me scared for the Sexy Nexy :/
I went to Best Buy yesterday to get a case for my new Note 8.0 (AT&T model). After looking at a couple of options, I settled on the official Samsung case. I'm very pleased with it. The protection is great and the cover is very sturdy, yet it adds very little bulk to the device. That's a winning combination in my book. I went for the dark gray case. I don't dig white devices but unfortunately that's the only color AT&T offers. The dark gray case works well with a white device, though, so I'm good. Another thing I like is that the magnet holds the back in place when you use it as a stand. That reduces slippage, which could ruin what is, frankly, one of the best features of the case. Another small little touch that adds character is the nice branding on the case. It's nice without begin egregious.
The only complaint I have is that, since the case is designed to work with every variant worldwide, it has a cutout at the top for the earpiece so you can put it on the international 3G models. Obviously the US WiFi and LTE models don't have the phone hardware so you just see a bit of the Samsung logo through that cutout hole. Looks a little hokey but it's a minor complaint.
Overall I'm very happy with the case. Attached are some pictures. Does anyone else have this case? Do you love it? Do you hate it? If you are in the market for a case, I highly recommend you take a look at it. They're available in gray, white, green, and pink if you want to explore your feminine side. At $50, they're definitely on the pricey side. However, with cases we all know you get what you pay for, generally. I feel like the quality justifies the cost.

I have the Samsung Book Case on my old Tab10.1 and wanted something as close as possible for my 8. It's the best I've seen so far.
Funny thing is that I never noticed the weight of my 10.1 before. Now if I pick up the 10.1 after using the 8, it feels like a 5lb bag of sugar.

Thanks! I had been looking at this case at Bestbuy on Saturday but couldn't stomach the $49 price tag. I printed off the web page from the B&H site and tripped down to Bestbuy and got it for $26.75. Much better price!

Take your receipt back into Best Buy with a copy of the ad from B&H and BB will refund you the difference. That's what they did with me.

It feel great..Perfect size for everything in the hand.. The nylon is better in my eyes then the other finish with the other models.My hands are little sweaty at times, so it feels a little slippery but the grip is there. I'm coming from a Note 4 and M8.. This is a definitely a boss in its own world. I wanted the flip cover but the store only had black. If I spend 60$, I need the leather one.

Got the nylon 32gb , feels really great. I don't want to put a case on it lol.
No Verizon logo on the phone is awesome. I'm having no problems with the brightness in direct sunlight as I type this. Haven't tried video. Speaker is pretty loud, but not as full sounding as my One Max. Haven't played with the back camera yet, but some Snapchat selfies that I took in low light came out better than expected. It's too new to be objective about it probably.
Anyone see anything about early upgrades for edge customers. Its says here but wanted to know any one has tried yet.

Just switched to ART, 10-15 minutes and 10% battery later, the phone is really hot. We'll see how it works. As a former Xposed junkie, I haven't used ART too much.

I picked the nylon up as well, but the kevlar felt to have a better grip than nylon. Wish the nylon had a tad more grip to it, but feels great in hand otherwise. I have a iPhone 6 plus and Im a big dude with big hands and it feels great to easily one hand a device again. Hopefully development does come along for this beast.

I always said I dont mind the Verizon logos, BUT it makes a difference now that there arent any on the Nylon Turbo.
Just got a 64gb. I love how theres no Verizon crap on it. Now I'm back at work. Won't get to play with it for a lil while . oh and its much thinner than I expected.

BTW I got the 64GB and they're running some promo where on EDGE they take $25 off the monthly cost if you get 10GB data. So I'm essentially paying $2 month for my 64GB turbo. Also no activation fee so walked out of the store without paying anything.

Just picked up a 64GB version an hour ago. So far I love it! Switching over to ART at the moment as well, just waiting for it to finish optimizing my apps.
My biggest fears with nylon was that dirt could get trapped in it, and the fibers will start to fray. On the demo unit, I scratched the back and tried to pick at it with my finger nail, and no fibers at all came loose an it didn't phase the material at all. Loving the nylon so far.
I'll be trying many hotspot apps shortly as well.
Ordered September 11th. Delivery was supposed to be today. Has been stuck on being built ever since then. Just chatted online and said maybe 23rd.
It's a 64gb black/black leather with dark silver accent.
Another reason I'm losing interest is moto finally put some cases online. Ugly. Spigen and Rearth aren't selling cases for this phone on amazon either. Moto isn't selling the power support screen protectors which have been my favorite but are sold for very few phones. (My company issued us 6+'S and power support was out of stock on smooth protectors so i got matte and they're still damn good). Rearth and spigen don't have screen protectors or cases available either. Little reason for me to get this phone if I can't accessorize it properly. What say you guys?

Stick with iPhone? Are you nuts? It was company issued iPhone. It's terrible. I appreciated ios's strengths, but now owning one, I hate Apple's ui even more. The ui isn't all it's cracked up to be, not simple like so many people proclaim, it's a cluster**** and performance is slightly above par with kitkat. Doesn't hold a candle to marshmallow. That being said, android still has it's downfalls, but nowhere near as bad as android.
And,yes , accessories are a must for me. I already worry about my big ass note4 at my job. A cracked screened or borked phone could happen any moment. Good thing build quality is up to par. Don't mind l metal frame, i still would prefer a nice ergonomic plaastic. The moto x is looks good. Looks like it can handle my job dangers easily enough. Hate the striped back though. Dimple looks too low. But the original moto x was awesome minus being too small. The moto pure is an almost perfect note4, minus s pen, taking a hit on low light camera shots and the reception should be badass. My note4 isnt a slouch with reception , but moto and Nokia are king in that area.
Yes I am upset it's late. Not a big deal. Would've been nice if they updated status to reflect that. The lack of proper cases and screen protectors pushes it past the edge of not being a keeper. My job is too rigorous and dangerous to humans and phones to go without protection . moto reps have no idea or clue when accessories become available. Am really looking forward to having 64GB internal and 128 or 200GB external sd card. Just frustrated they're botching the launch out the gate. Looking for reasons to go with it. Our iPhone 6+ are at&t, but reception is still lacking. Moto should make up for that with T-Mobile. T-Mobile is making a come up in coverage. I wish their RIL's were more aggressive with 700mhz band. I know moto is pushing an update to remedy that soon. Also, looking forward to somewhat more timely updates, which Samsung and carriers have bombed. Can't believe the other 3 carriers haven't pushed 5.1.1 yet. And Samsung phónes are notorious for less than desirable updates. Seems the initial firmware and subsequent updates to same #'ed firmware are the only polished firmwares. 5.0.1 is terrible. And for those that don't know, the beta marshmallow on nexus5 is great compared to 5.1.1. I really think a lot of people will really enjoy how polished marshmallow is compared to 5.1.1. For example, using power save mode on marshmallow doesn't gimp phones like 5.1.1. Still hate the color change though when using power save mode. Im sure xposed will address that in near future.
Anyways, the lack of desirable accessories is making me less anxious to get it. If I don't have proper protection I can't carry it to work or use as daily driver. Hoping someone makes a great case/sales pitch that I should stick it out and try/keep it. I do like somethings about tpuchwiz, but the bloat, overweight tpuchwiz, bad ram management and physical buttons are hard to bear with. If my htc m8 supported 700mhz I'd probably be rolling withthat. It's been deprecated to fancy music player and phone to use when my note4 is being charged early before going to bed.
Somebody, change my mind. I really loved the original moto x but it was just too damn small. Barely, and I mean barely bigger than iPhone 5/5s. Impressed a lot of people.

Came from oneplusone. No complaints here. Ordered, received earlier than expected. If you think moto fiasco is horrible, your in for surprise. I love it, love it, and love it. Where are the devs at? Can't wait for roms that will make this device real deal pure edition. Pretty good now, im pretty certain it will be one of the best. OnePlus 1 running temasek rom feels better than moto x pure stock rom. I can't wait and hope leaving OnePlus optimism stays that way.

I think this phone is excellent. I like the things that matter most - the display, camera and speakers. Battery is good for me also. I can't imagine buying a phone based on accessories. That would have no influence on my decision.

Another reason I'm losing interest is moto finally put some cases online. Ugly. Spigen and Rearth aren't selling cases for this phone on amazon either. Moto isn't selling the power support screen protectors which have been my favorite but are sold for very few phones. (My company issued us 6+'S and power support was out of stock on smooth protectors so i got matte and they're still damn good). Rearth and spigen don't have screen protectors or cases available either. Little reason for me to get this phone if I can't accessorize it properly. What say you guys?

If you need us to convince you, chances are you don't want the device.
If you're worried about screen protectors, I bought this one and it's very durable, and I can't even tell it's on my phone.

That being said, this phone is great! If you don't already feel good about the purchase though it will sour the experience as long as you own it. Return it if you don't feel good about it. At least someone will get it as a refurb at a lower price that will appreciate it that way.

I tested the phone primarily on AT&T, but I was able to use data and make voice calls on Verizon as well. Network performance in midtown Manhattan was in line with what I've seen on other recent AT&T devices.

I feel SO much better and the fact it works on VZW. Am excited.

Ditto for me too! Just pre-ordered mine in the Quartz Gray from Newegg today.
They won't charge my card until it ships too which is a nice benefit.
Plus if I don't like the headphones I'll just sell those and recoup some money against the purchase price.
I noticed in the video he was using a Cricket SIM card so now there's no worries on my part about that aspect.
Looks like this phone just may be a "giant killer" after all.
Then it will be time to sell my current HTC One M9 too! Not a bad phone just a pain to get custom ROMs to work on it.

It has CDMA support as well, but ZTE originally said that it would be enabled in a later update. However, it looks like it unofficially works out of the box, but the carriers might not officially support it yet.

Just curious to know why you think LG G4 is abysmal ? I'm coming from LG G4 and I know about bootloop issue, but apart from that when it works, I think camera on it is pretty good. I've placed preorder for Axon 7 but the low light performance of this makes me think twice about moving from LG G4 to Axon 7. I'm not a gamer, my primary concern is camera and audio quality and Axon 7 seems to be good on audio part but camera is still up in air.
Mostly the bootloop issue. It greatly soured me but I also have big issues with WiFi a d my device not sounding off on some calls and texts. It also rarely vibrates when set to vibrate only. Overall it is a decent device, just not much of an upgrade from the fantastic G3.
G3 is fantastic, my brother and mother love their G3's dont see them changing anytime soon.

I only used leather back covers on G4, loved those things. Screen protector from Amazon - the glass one, not plastic film. My fiancée loves yellow leather back cover on G4. My G4 have bootloop issue, and sent already once to Squaretrade for repair.

I don't know if you meant to direct this at mjoshi or me, seeing as how he quoted my post mentioning my case and screen protector but I got mine from Amazon. Just a simple smoke/black slim case that should go well with the Quartz Grey. The screen protector is non glass from Mr. Shield. I'm not fond of glass as they can be fragile and coverage isn't always the best. I usually prefer Spigen brand but they don't have Axon 7 yet.
