Hi all
Looking to buy a new android device.
Is the Galaxy S II the best device out there?
Does skype work with video?

lte is just a usa variant that supports lte signals isnt it?? the sgs2 is still a flagship samsung announced the naming scheme the other day

to the ops question i am loving the sgs2 and for me it was defo worth the money

SGSII is great and skype video works. Only thing is that we know that an improved version is around the corner with the specs mentioned above.

Im sure you wont regret buying this phone, blazing speed and display,and the boot time is amazing when comapred to all the 1ghz smartphones out there.
I personally think 4.2" or 4.3" should be the limit for smart phones. 4.5" ??? you can call it a mini tablet.

I totally agree with you here, already the size of the sgs2 can take some time to get used to, but 4.5... that has to be too much for a phone device
Anyway, if you're interested in buying this phone, do it right away, it will be your happiest day ever, just be careful to not overpay for it

I liked the idea of the streak but my wife made fun of it saying it looked like you had a book on your ear.
I would still like a 5" phone...but with LTE and HSPA this is prolly a Verizon device, right guys?

I think our epic 4" is perfect for a phone, not sure I like where this is going.

im still looking for the 5inch with sliding keyboard...
mabey a something a little smaller than this!

Imagine though. You just use it with a bluetooth headset. Its big enough to really browse the web and do more data oriented things.
Pair it with a fold up keyboard and think of all you could do. It can be both the tablet and the phone. Get the best of everything to fit in your pocket.
I wouldn't want a 10" tablet anyway because its to big to really use with one hand.

Hope you carry around solar panels to power that thing..

Why would anyone prefer a 4" over 5" phone? That just views my mind... Think outside the box. A 5" phone wouldn't have to be any bigger than the epic. There a ton of wasted space on the epic fire the screen size.

The new Samsung Galaxy S II will have the 4.52 so we are getting closer to the 5" mark. Just hate that we don't get updates really Samsung where is Gingerbread??

Would anyone that owns a Galaxy Note be able to post a size comparison shot of the two? It's a shot in the dark cause most people don't have their tablets but if by some chance there's some nice enough out there with some free time on their hands, with a Nexus 7 and a Samsung Galaxy note that can post up a side-by-side size comparison photo, It'd be much appreciated.
I have one on preorder (N7) but I'm wondering if I should just save some money and not get a tablet all together if the Galaxy Note can do what I need? If the size is comparable that is.

I may post a photo tomorrow... If i receive my n7.

Seconded! And please make a literal shot in the dark if it's not too much trouble, with only the two screens lit up. I've found that's the most demonstrative way to compare screen size, without the distraction of form and shape of the rest of the devices.

ive got the note and my nexus should be arriving this week.
im actually contemplating swapping my note for something more compact since i'll now have a tablet and i dont really use the S-pen features of my note.

From the first picture it's a huuuge difference.. From the second, it doesn't seem that bad. :/ I was wanting to buy a Note and a Nexus 7 {Both} for school benefits. But It still doesn't seem to clear it up for me lol.

just got my google nexus 7. its a fair chunk bigger than the galaxy note.
if you're comparing viewable screen size, the length of the galaxy note's display is only a few mm longer than the width of the nexus 7 display. the nexus 7 display has around twice the surface area of the galaxy note display. its a noticeable difference. the nexus 7 is also fairly smooth as well. not sure if i want to load spb shell 3d or not since its fine in portrait mode.

I've been using the n7 for a day and I can tell you that the larger screen size is definitely noticeable as compared to the note. The brightness and image quality of the notes super amoled however, is far superior. Then again it costs 400 more.

the.s3 is a nice phone. but the bottom bezel/lip is uneven and throws off its balance

The note front on looks more like the s2 in shape but bigger. But the s3 is new design, new shape and much nicer to look at and feel

I agree, to be honest the S2 felt a little square while holding it, the first thing I said when I held the S3 was OMG you can't feel the corner!!! this is holding the phone with one hand and having the bottom right corner rest on your palm (right hand). The note 2 is just the note 1 with the S3 curves or you can say that the note2 is the iphone5 of the OG note... (didn't wanted to mention the i word but that's how it looks to me).

In real life I prefer the S3 but look at the photos and it looks like some cheap Chinese phone.
I mean I've just never seen a phone where photos just do it so little justice.

The shape of the S3 is great, but they should have cut the bottom bezel much smaller and centered the button, in that regard the Note looks much better.

I think since this is the S3 forum, you'll probably find most people prefer the S3... Why does this thread even exist? It's just flame bait...

Gs3. The note II is too big IMO. At least for me it is. I cant see going any bigger than 4.7-4.8. If I need something bigger I have my Nexus 7 or something bigger? my Transformer Infinity.. hahah

Note 3 Photos Leaked Online?

I Know this is random, but its also cool. For anyone keeping up with the rumors on the note 3, here's another. These Photos Were leaked online 6/10/2013. Comes from Sam Mobile who are the ones that leaked the Pictures of the S4 which turned out to be real. the phone seems to have a smaller bezzle like the s4 so the phone its self wont be bigger but the screen will.

I read somewhere today that this image is actually the Mega 6.3, but I don't think anybody really knows for sure. That phone looks like a monster! Almost to the point of being too big, at least for me. I can't wait until I see it in person though then I can make a decision

not only that the mega 6.3 has curved edges at the top and bottom, this leaked picture of the note 3 has square shaped edges top and bottom. compare both of these pictures and tell me if it's a 6.3 mega or not.
