Bootloop problem, no recovery, no download mode (Non rooted and No custom recovery) - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I just bought an LG G2 D802 20B Model a couple days ago, yesterday I wanted to downgrade to 4.2.2 and I ended up bricking the phone.
The phone is non rooted, doesn't have any custom recovery, and not recognized by adb even though i installed all the drivers ( koush drivers, PdaNet, Lg drivers ...)
At first I flashed with .kdz file and it ended in bootloop, I tried to factory reset but it doesnt have any effects with the stock recovery it only shows the green android bot and blue progress bar and then restart in 3 seconds and reboots to lg logo and start looping.. After a restart the download mode didn't work anymore it showed me fastboot error, I searched for the tutorial that actually worked and I flashed with .tot method but there is still bootloop and the download mode is stuck at the image attached. The phone is not recognized by neither windows or ubuntu therefore I can't use adb to fix the partitions.
Can any body provide me with a solution? The phone is still new and it will be a shame if its transformed to a brick in 3 days :crying:

Hey..hmm i think thats how download mode it is...so did you tried to flash again a firmware?

Thanks for your reply, however the phone is not recognized on windows neither on ubuntu therefore this tutorial can't help ...

I am in the exact same situation.
Mine is a D802 32GB Hong Kong model. I stupidly ran AutoRec which soft-bricked my phone. Managed to get Download Mode working, then flashed 20C and 20B which bootlooped. Then I attempted to flash 10B, which got me into this exact state:
Download Mode not working (only shows "Download Mode", does not go to firmware recovery screen, not detected in Win/Linux)
Factory reset (Power + Vol Down) can go to factory reset screen, after factory reset, still bootloop.
Once in a while, I also get the Android icon which then disappears after a few seconds and goes to LG logo again.
If I plug the phone in and do a factory reset, Windows detects the LGE AndroidNet modem, and Linux will detect cdc_acm USB Abstract Control Model driver. Flash Tool and LG Mobile Support seems to detect the phone and attempt to flash, but the phone restarts after a short while.
I have no idea what else to do

[Q] Flash stock with security error

Ok, so I flashed cleanrom ex, and on reboot I got a security error.
I tried to get to recovery, but it wipes data and immediately reboots.
I've tried flashing the stock rom, but lg flash tool tells me it's the wrong device (now thinks it's a D802).
I've been trying to get into TWRP on scrosler and samsunggalaxystig's advice, first by repeatedly trying an adb reboot recovery, then by writing a batch script to do it repeatedly in order to catch it before it reboots.
Problem is, I don't know if I had already had ADB drivers installed on this computer for the G2 (had rooted while at work), and despite installing them more than once, I don't think the device actually has enough time to be recognized as I still have an unrecognized "g2" in device manager while TWRP is wiping.
Any ideas? Is there any way I can force the install of the ADB driver without having it connected for more than 20 seconds? Spitballing... would it be possible to actually flash a D802 image so I could then root, change the build.prop to D800, and then flash the D800 image?
Totally at a loss at this point.
did you solve your problem? i have a similar problem and i just bricked an s3. this g2 is brand new and now it's bricked too! if you have found a solution please respond... :crying:

Why did flashing a rom leads you to that error? Sorry but not familiar with your roms but is this rom really for your LG G2 model?

twrp corrupted my cache partition and the phone could not boot. i tried to flash cwm while in twrp and i guess i messed up recovery and/or boot partitions. al i could get was fastboot. i flashed a boot.img i got from somewhere in here. now it says security error and it does not boot. it does not enter into fasboot. i can enter into recovery mode but it is the stock lg recovery and if i choose "delete all data", which is the only option, it gives an error and restarts.
if i try to flash stock firmware as described in this post it stops at 49%.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can someone help me I successful in installing twrp though autorec apk and the same for rooting my g2. I flashed cm with nightlies and noticed that twrp had a update. I downloaded the zip and try flashing it like flash a recovery in flashify but that din't work and readed that zip flashing though twrp didn't work but renumber this video and though it would update my recovery to 2.7.1 but it was successful in doing so but when I got to recovery it was 2.7.0. That not the problem form there I tried to boot into my system. Then it turn off though that I passed power off instead but when turn my g2 back on I found that I had a security error show up then turn back off. So can someone help show me a tutorial on unbick or a way to remove error. Also I have the d800 and i have some idea without going though unbicking a hard factory rest or flasing twrp form there site in fastboot. Finally that lg mobile support tool say that im up to date. I think doing the autorec twrp recovery locked as my phones recovery like trying to flash a rom with a locked bootloader.
Ok guys i trying to help cause it happen to me too, sorry for my english too slow but i try, when you try go twrp with volume up+power buttom it still show security errow, that ok your device not hardbrick yet, when you try volume down+power buttom it show hard reset it does mean it clear all rom, picture in internal but it go to twrp again, and them just flash another rom in your device and it done, have great day piece
I had the same problem on my G2 was using twrp to flash cyanogenmod not sure what i did and phone rebooted to show security error message. I entered recovery mode (power and volume down release when logo pops up and press power and volume down again hold for a second then tap both buttons a few times) pulled up the option to factory reset so i did and it booted me into twrp and allowed me to flash cyanogenmod correctly this time and the phone started back up with no problems. hope this can help someone else as well.
Anybody know the solution?
I also have the security error boot loop after flashing KK baseband files... I tried to enter recovery mode by holding vol down & power button but it wont work...
it does work when i enter download mode (vol up + power button), but i don't want to have to download the stock LG ROM..
anybody know how to by pass the security error boot loop to allow me to reflash?

if you still bricked. try this
get your tools from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
keep reading or follow above thread. both will work.
best of luck.
After all the drivers installed correctly
make sure your phone is connected to the
com41 port change it if it already not ( Under device manager > Go to Ports (COM & LPT). You should see LGE AndroidNet etc... Right click it and go to Properties > Port Settings > Advanced > Change COM Port Number to COM41 > OK > OK > Close Device Manager )
run flash tool
1. choose type CDMA
2. chose PhoneMode: DIAG
leave rest as it is.
3. choose your kdz file.
then go to download mode
1. power off
2. press and hold vol + key and plug usb cable
3. done )
We have go 2 flashing modes.
1. Normal Flash is for flash with keeping data
2. CSE flash is totally new start preffered.
hope this helps.
thanks but it was a long time ago and I further messed up things, ended up sending it for warranty. they have replaced the device.
me too messed up my cell 1st i was on cloudy g2 v2.1 installed cm11 nightlies but the camera was not so good so then installed cloudy g2 v2.1 n since then i was having problem regarding sound during call and also some hard noise like siren starts randomly, i searched alot but didnt got any solution. wiped all many times (including internal storage ). but no luck then i thought i might be baseband error so i just downloaded auto recovery n flashed it n then stuck into security error but thank GOD i had custom rom in my sd card that time i flashed it back but still em having the sound error.

Hey guys, I was in the same boat for a little but was able to fix it by downloading the 801C firmware and flashing it. The firmware file should be a KDZ extension and you should also download LG Flash Tool 2014. Turn the phone on by holding the Power button and Volum up while it is plugged into your computer(It has to be plugged into a computer with LG phone drivers or it won't work).
Follow this tutorial and you will be set.
http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-restore-lg-g2-to-stock-firmware/
Start at step 17 on Method 1 and you should be golden.
Hope this helps guys!

[Q] Brick or no brick?

Hi.
I have a Vodafone Germany LG G2 with stock KitKat.
My story:
I installed root and recovery. Then I tried to install the OTA, doesnt work, tried it with LG PC Suite. Boot certification verify error.
Recovered all with this guide:
[FIX] NO Recovery mode, No download mode, after OTA on rooted LG G2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
Then flashed an open LG G2 kdz and all was fine again, but...
no Update for me with knock code.
----------------->>>>
So i tried to flash the original Vodafone KDZ in Offline mode. I get an error at 15 percent and it wont work. So i restarted my phone, but i only had a black screen. Nothing worked again (no download, no recovery). Ok, plugged in in PC and woha, broadcom device detected. Back to ubuntu and recovery again (see above).
After that, i restarted my phone, but no recovery was there... only the lg logo. Everytime. Again: No Download, no recovery. Stuck at bootloop every time. Factory hard reset can be called, but if i confirm, "Factory reset processing" appears, now for ~30 minutes. Is there a way to fastboot or to another state than that?
Any idea?

[Q] Help with bricked g2

I'm sorry if there is a post for this already, I have been using this website for a while and until now never had to post because all my questions were answered. This time I am not able to find an answer or even a thread with the same circumstances as mine. I rooted and installed a custom rom but didn't like it. I tried going back to stock but accidentally wiped the phone so the backups and the roms were gone. I had TWRP installed but it wouldn't allow me to sideload via adb and when I tried to enter download mode, it would enter it but go to a screen that just said firmware update and stayed stuck on there. So I went out and bought a OTG usb cable to read the rom off a flash drive and I installed it but now instead of going to recovery it goes to a black screen that just says fastboot mode udc start. Download mode still does the same firmware update screen. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I'm on the latest software and I tried to put the newest stock I could find but honestly I might've made a mistake since my PC is loaded with different roms and files from all kinds of phones and software versions.

i was running ls980 zv8 clodyflex 1.4 jellybean and i went to recovery TWRP wiped everything exept internal storage flashed kk baseband and ZVA radio then flashed cloudyflex 2.2 and rebooted and phone went to the same screen as the owner of this thread: fastboot mode udc start and i cant get in to recovery to restore my backup. Ive tried lg tools method to flash a tot firmware but even having all drivers it doesnt happend, i tried fastboot method with command prompt to flash recovery twrp again and no luck either, i ran out of options here but there is gotta be a solution for this PLEASE HEEELP!

I just saw this. I have done the same thing. But I have been able to recover with TOT file. The trick to enter download mode is to hold the volume up button when you power on the phone. If you can get the phone to stay off, then hold volume up, while holding vol up plug in your data cable. You should get DL mode. If you do this while the LG Flash Tool is open, then go to control panel and find the COM port for the LG phone, open properties and advanced, change the COM port to COM41. Once that is done, also once the flash tool files are loaded and the COM41 box says ready, unplug your phone then replug your phone. You may have to also hold volume down here, I can't remember. But the first time is to let the drivers configure. The second time lets the flash tool see the COM port and it should start flashing. It will get around 80% and reboot. The flash is done and the tool will eventually report an error.
I installed the KK baseband as instructed, even also came from the stock ZVC update, rooted via IORoot25. It's a shame as I've heard great things about this ROM.
Hope that helps.

LG G2 Hard Bricked

So I wiped the system partition on my LG G2/D800 (mostly out of stupidity) and now I'm stuck in the boot loop.
Symptoms are following:
1. Stuck in the boot loop
2. Will not go into download or recovery mode
3. When turning on the LG logo appears and disappears repeatedly
4. Device is not detected when plugged into the USB
5. Factory reset using VolDown+Power doesn't do anything
I've tried most of the ideas I've been able to find on the forum, but it looks like I'm stuck mostly because I cannot enter download mode and the phone is not detected in any way when plugged into the USB (no many partitions or anything).
Will be grateful for any ideas how to get out of it?

if not try using srk tools.. if that doesnt work i think you need to short circuit your motherboard.

Indeed I cannot enter download mode with vol up then plug usb.
Good news is that I was able to enter qhsusb mode by short circuiting the moterboard. I used srktools to unbrick in qhsusb mode, however it didn't work. The linked guide recommends to flash only laf.img, aboot.img and boot.img. I don't really understand how flashing more can hurt. I also don't completely understand why flashing these should help. After all, I messed only with the system partition. I'll try to follow the guide more closely, but I'm thinking that a better idea would be to flash system partition in a qhsusb mode. I just need to figure out where to get system.img from.

So now I can consistently get into ghsusb mode by short curcuiting the motherboard, and I can flash img files with dd. I flashed every partition from the stock FW which was on my phone. Now when hold vol up and plug in usb, I'm ending up in a stock recovery. However, I still cannot enter download mode and the phone still suffers from boot loop if I choose to reboot the phone.

I'm sorry for your loss. To me it sounds like something may be physically damaged.
To elaborate a bit further, fastboot doesn't usefully exist without root, stock recovery can only wipe your userdata, and you've already said download mode reboots way too early to try anything. There is no safe way to try anything with the firmware, if it even somehow is a firmware issue. There's the leaked firehose, if you force it into 9008 mode, but that's risky and I have no personal experience with it to give more details.
Basically don't expect it to be coming back.

Without it already being rooted and the dirtysanta bootloader installed there is no fastboot mode on anything (which you would have seen if you had read the OP) but the h918 (which still can't flash with it) and us996, and you still need a working phone to actually set the options in Android to allow unlocking the bootloader.
And I'd put it at like an 80% chance it's hardware failure anyway, since it's boot looping in download mode too.
Try holding down volume down and plugging in USB.......
Same issue herewith...
LG V20 boot loop , restarting again and again , also when USB cable method is applied to enter into the Download Mode , it also restarts after sometime after showing download mode icon etc........
