Ive been downloading films from SB onto Nexus 10, and streaming to tv using Bubble UPNP. The files are stored in a Showbox folder, and using File Manager, i can easily locate them.
Each file has a picture thumbnail, and is recognised as an MP4 video.
Lately, recent downloads are showing as a white/grey icon, and i cannot stream using Bubble, as the files are not seen by PS3?
Any ideas? It seems the problem is the actual file and how its stored? Im struggling.

I've been reading the copious threads about ripping movies onto the Touch Pro 2, and have been using the Catalyst 3 program with some success by just using the standard Touch Pro 2 settings in the software.
I read in some of the threads that some software on the TP2 can use the hardware acceleration function and some can't which makes for smoother movie viewing, etc. My question is this: When I put my converted mp4 movie on my SD card and onto the TP2, how should I view it to get maximum performance from the device? Should I put in a folder so that the movie is in the Album viewer and tap it in the album viewer and view it from there? Should I just locate the movie file using file explorer, tap on it, and view it that way? Or should I open the included Windows Media Player, then open the file from within that program? Or does it even matter? Will all 3 methods provide equal performance?
Thanks!
As to answer your question I just use the album viewer. I have the shortcut in my favorite programs and use that to navigate to my videos folder and select my movie and play. Im sure there is a way to create a shortcut to the Video Player itself through the regisrty but I havent found it yet.
You want to play the file using HTCAlbum, and not Windows Media Player; but whether you launch HTCAlbum and then load the file, or whether you associate .mp4 files with HTCAlbum and launch it from File Explorer makes no difference (except that the second way is probably easier!). HTCAlbum is quite possibly already the default application for .mp4 files anyway, so you may not need to actively associate it.
I'm trying to play FLAC music files on my Nexus S however it doesn't work. I tried several third party application like meridan, mortplayer, andless,.. but none of them seem to play FLAC files. Any suggestions or is this issue related to Gingerbread (2.3.1)?
I have the bluetooth file transfer tool on my phone. I can browse to my flac directory and see the files. However if I try to select one the OS says no application is associated for these files.
Try power amp...its my favorite music app by FAR. Give it a shot, I'm sure you'll love it!

I just got my 10.1 two days ago. Transferred a few movie files (.mkv & .mp4) into it through MTP (cable connection). I am 100% sure those video files were already inside the tab storage, they even appear in my moboplayer list, none of them appear in my stock video app. It just shows empty. I had no trouble opening those video files via my files and then open through video app.
What should I do?
nobody cares to help?
The stock gallery sometimes needs a reboot before it picks up new video and pictures.
Try using another gallery app like QuickPic, it's faster and has much more functionality than the stock app anyways.
Hi
I have u torrent on my Nexus 7. I can download the torrents fine but I come to open the file I cannot play it.I have VLC player which starts up and then goes off straight away. I have also downloaded MX player which says it can't play the video when I try it this way. Can any body help me please, I have now tried 3 different videos and can't watch any?
just to double check...
i don't mean to sound crazy...
but, you're not trying to play the actual torrent file are you?
that file is used solely to direct the file to your device.
once you have the torrented media file downloaded...say, the actual movie or song...with a file ext that ends in .avi, .mpg or .mkv can you use those two applications to play them.
otherwise, you have an incomplete or corrupt media file.
those 2 mentioned players...vlc/mx open just about everything pretty well.
Thanks for the reply.
I'm not sure the downloaded files on utorrent are - DVD rip xvid-LTRG. I click on this in utorrent and then it asks me how I would like to open their file where I can then select one of the players. Is this wrong? I have also tried opening the player first to see if I can open the film that way but there is no file to open?
Thanks for the help.
I have recently rooted my Google Nexus 7 (2012) and flashed it with Lineage OS / Android Nougat.
All is fine except the thumbnails of my video files have a green, mauve (or both) tint.
This applies to 99% of .mp4 files, whilst .wmv, .flv and one odd .mp4 files have no thumbnails-
just the standard camera icon.
This is happening irrespective of what file viewer I use. (eg the stock "Files" app or Astro)
Thumbnails of jpeg pictures are ok and unaffected.
I have tried the usual emptying of caches, and deleting thumbnail folders to no avail.
Internet trawl hasn't helped.
Can anyone here please.
