Hey guys I've got another question. Does anybody know how to remove the clock from the lock screen?
I've gone through Setting>My Device>Lock Screen and have everything turned off.
I've even downloaded an app called "Lockscreen Policy" which has an option to disable Widget and/or Camera, I've switched both of them off as well. I don't remember the app saying anything about needing root to work.
Really annoying that the stupid clock is covering my Lock Screen Wallpaper especially when the Notification Bar is on the Lockscreen and that has a clock on it anyway.
Thanks in advance.

If you swipe down from the clock it will expand the widget. You can then long press it and drag it to the trash can that appears at the top of the screen.
Be aware, though, that if you do not have any widget there you will just see a screen with a big "+" sign asking you to add a new widget and once the phone locks the clock widget will reappear. The only way to get it to go away permanently is to replace it with a different widget.
Hope this helps.

Yea i just tried it out and see what you mean. I just don't understand the point of it being mandatory to have something. That ****s raining on my customization parade. Thanks for the input.

You should disable the stock lockscreen all together and give WidgetLocker a try. It works really well on my wife's Note 2, and it's super customizable.

I try this and is says "unable to edit in security mode". I understand I may need to "unlock" the phone w/ the security code - but how do I get back to remove the lock screen clock if I do that? I am trying to get Dashclock Widget going, but this is blocking me.
Any thoughts?

Do you have a pattern or PIN lock set? I don't think the widgets work with those.

You are correct. PIN/Pattern doesn't work with other widgets. Thanks man.
Solved it
Hi, folks -- registered just to report that I have solved this problem. Download Minimalistic Text (free), though I'm sure you already have it. Enable Multiple Widgets on the phone, then add a blank Minimalistic Text widget. Delete your clock as described above and enjoy.
even easier: Blank Lockscreen Widget (Play Store)
galaxy s4 lockscreen
This has probably already been mentioned by now but for those still strugglimg with this. Drag down the screen from were the message and clock is. Click the pen looking icon to edit delete txt and uncheck clock if that is not required. Then press save in the top right and your lock screen will be clear :good:

Drag down the life companion message and click edit. Delete text and uncheck clock if also not required then press save. No app or root required just needs to be edited from the lock screen. May need to disable your lock security while you edit. Hope this helps
hide lock screen clock Android 4.3
Hey guys,
I recently got a Note 3 discovered that you cannot remove the lock screen clock. Simply doesn't allow you the option to.
But I found a way to hide it using the "personal message" feature.
Turn personal message on in the lock screen options menu.
Simply uncheck the clock and date boxes and space across a single character (as it won't allow you to have no text but will allow you a space which is invisible anyways..) and then hit save.
So then the next time you go to wake up your phone the lock screen clock will be gone!
I really don't like the way you are literally forced to have a lock screen clock!?!?
I often change my lock screen and desktop wallpapers and don't like the screen to be cluttered with text I don't want to see..
I have only tested this method on my Galaxy Note 3 so I am unsure if this will work on other Android phones..
Also what I have found strangely enough is normally there would be a half to one second lag for the display to sleep when I lock the phone.
This lag seems to have all but gone now that I specified a personal message (even though its blank) and hid the clock & date. Bonus!!
Hope this helps. Apologies if this has been previously covered..
Have fun!

Thanks so much for this now if I can just find away for it not to show that you have a text message on the lock screen things will be great.
FIxed.
Hay guys.
Sorry for the late reply. But I found a way to remove everything on lockscreen...
Date, time and also the unlock icon and rings.
But for now to remove clock simply allow lockscreen widgets then download zooper widget and replace your stock clock widget with an blank zooper widget.
Hope i helped.

From 1st to 4th... New lock screen, new recents, new notification shade (2 pics).
7/8/16- Download latest version of Good Lock app (v24.0.11)
what is this? it doesn't look like anything out right now....how did you get it?
Apparently you can download the apk from sammobile but it's not working for me... I get a parsing package error. I'm on 5.1.1 when I tried this so you probably need 6.0.1 for it to work. On sammobile, the post was towards s7/s7e users through...

quick review:
1. it looks nice, but you can't change the color of the notification panel and toggles
2. the recent apps screen reminds me of older android versions, no picture or tabs, just the name of the app
hope they update it with some more settings

You can change the colours by editing the default routine, or creating a new one.

thanks, but it's a bit annoying, if you make your own profile it needs to have the location toggle on, if you cancel it everytime you wake up the device it asks to enable location toggle, and pressing the recent apps button is slow, and when you press the home button to get to the home screen there is a delay....i guess it's not ready yet

Same problems as you. Uninstalled....... for now. Hopefully it gets lots of updates with new features, bug fixes, etc. That'd be really awesome. Can't wait to see how this develops.

Hey all, not sure if you guys can answer this but I need help with something. I got a Huawei Ascend XT recently and for a GoPhone, this thing is pretty damn awesome. Only issue I have is the notifications. I have a custom SMS messaging app I like to use and I set up different pictures or icons for different people. Yet, whenever I receive a message from them, I get the default icon instead of the one I set up. It's like the phone is overriding what I set up. Does anyone know of a way to get rid of the notification settings or to disable it so it doesn't only show default icons? I messed with it in settings but it doesn't help.
Thanks in advance

To the best of my understanding, default notification icons are pre set by EMUI. they either use its own version of an app icon or the default on that came packaged with that app. nobody has figured out how (or at least shared that they figured it out) to change this action. it should be taken as a permanent part of EMUI and can only be avoided by installing a custom rom that does not use system wide themeing to the extend that Huawei does. i hope I have answered your question.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I cant do a customer ROM yet as I havent rooted the device yet. Is there any way of disabling just that part of the EMUI? Anyone??
You can disable all notifications for each specific app . Does that help?

Unfortunately no, that just disables the entire app. This is the only thing about the phone I dont like.
You are not supposed to be disabling the entire app, just its notifications .

hello!
any one of you has tried this method?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/howto-4-to-disable-heads-notifications-t3197660
it has worked for me since s7, s8 and note 8...
thanks
You can eliminate almost all heads up notifications by going into the settings application, then click Apps, click Gmail, click Notifications, change all settings to "Make sound."
Repeat this for any app you do not want heads up notifications for...
Hope this helps!
What's a heads-up notification? The pop up banner ?

you are right!!!
in note 8 there was not this option!!!
Sounds like this is what I made another post about, just didn't see this one as I was looking in Q&A.
Why are the banner notifications so insanely disruptive on the Note 9 vs the Note 8? It's almost insane how different it is.
Edit: thanks to this post, think I found the setting driving me mad!
I still have the note 8 and i didnt have to do anything crazy to disable notifications for popping up. Its a feature in the android os that you can set for each app. Ive not had any pop up or heads up banners for a long time on the note 8 and the same for the 9
You can use system ui tuner from playstore there can you disable it
adb command no root needed.
adb shell settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0
That is for system wide
Note: the adb method no longer works for UI 2.1 and the adb hack isn't needed any longer. It would still be nice to apply a global default with this hack rather than changing each app individually. It's now under each apps notification settings, under "Message notifications" and is called "Show as Pop-up".
I searched thoroughly and couldn't find a thread or a fix. Where do we edit the quick settings in the notification pulldown? Mine is blank, and I don't readily see it in Settings, nor is there an edit function in the pulldown. Suggestions?
You don't have the editing pencil icon on there?

Nah, it's straight blank...
Someone else here solved that by rebooting the phone. Afterward the pencil icon appeared and they were able to set it up. Can't remember which thread at this point.
I've rebooted twice. No success...
Pull down the notifications and then pull down again on the (blank for you currently) quicksettings section and you'll see pencil that lets you edit

Thanks for this. JUST picked up mine and was going crazy since I wasn't seeing the toggles. Very odd that it comes up blank like that out of the box.
Hey I found out the issue here. I had the same thing happen with the T-mobile variant. I did a factory reset and restored my google account and it was still missing. I did a second factory reset and didn't restore and sure enough it showed up. I then did the oneplus restore and nothing changed. I then got the phone unlocked and still no issue. After a restart everything was fine and then I did a google restore. I chose only to restore call logs and messages. The second it was done the quick settings disappeared again. This is clearly an issue with google and this device. Not sure if it's a T-Mobile issue specifically

Ah, thank you, that fixed it for me. Mine was looking just like yours. And when I locked the screen and then pulled down the notifications drawer, a pencil did appear which let me fix it all up.
I think I might know what broke it for me. When I upgraded my OnePlus 5 from OxygenOS 5.1.7 to 9.0.3, I still had jOnePlus Tools [adb/root] by JRoot3D.dev installed, and it was changing how many quick settings tiles are shown after one swipe down (in the single row). I think it was essentially doing this:
Code:
adb shell settings put secure sysui_qqs_count 8
When I used the app to change that number, all my quick settings tiles disappeared. The app has not been updated in a while, so I'm going to keep it off my phone until it's updated for Android Pie
Just as a quick update on this. This is still a problem on the T-Mobile device on 9.0.13 fully stock.
I guess this must then mean that the quick setting cannot be hidden on the lockscreen...

Actually, I think I found a better solution here.
The trick seems to be that on the unlocked version of the shade, the pencil and user switcher icons only show up when you expand the QS panel. However, if you don't have enough icons in the panel to force the need for the additional row (there is a little hint that shows up when you drag an icon that indicates that you need at least 6 icons), then you can't swipe it down, and there no icons or any warning of any sort are shown.
The shade on the lockscreen doesn't appear to enforce that icon minimum, so the pencil and user switcher show up fine (perhaps this is due to the fact that on the lockscreen, the notifications themselves don't live in the shade as they do when the device is unlocked).
It also seems like older OOS versions didn't enforce that icon minimum, so if you only had, say 4 icons (not sure who would do that), then did an upgrade, you would have this strange behavior.
