Anyone successfully running Xposed on Note 4? I read in another forum that some people on Note 3 ran it and loved it. I installed Xposed framework on my rooted Sprint Note 4, then rebooted, added some modules like Wanam, rebooted again, went into them and applied some tweaks and rebooted again. No tweak worked at all even though several are checked off. Additionally after installing xposed framework I get play services crash messages and the com.android.location or whatever crash messages.
I decided to uninstall xposed framework and mods for now. Anyone have any luck with it?
I have it installed and found that it only broke S Health app until I did the build prop "secure=false" tweet and after that I have not had any problems. I only have one module Unicon to change system icons so not sure if having several modules would break more stuff. As we are only in the early stages of development for the Note I feel no need to push the handset for no reason.
Works fine on my SM-N910F... With Xposed installer installed I have already enabled
call recording and and also installed Wanam Xposed which works fine as well.
I'm running it with xgels, fonter and APM+, no issues other than s health

I'll have to give it another shot and only install one module at a time

I'm also getting lag where the phone will lockup for about 4 seconds ever couple minutes. It's rather annoying.

Is this not the "S-health" issue? Its solvable by freezing shealth or a specific xposed module(a Wanam option I think) I'm sure there's another thread about it somewhere in here.

Yes, I installed that module and it seems to be working again. Thanks for the tip.

It is actually an S-Health issue. Running exposed without modifying the secure storage will cause S-Health's Services hang while checking sensors. That's the reason of the hangs and lags. It has been discussed previously in S5 thread as well as here in General Section.
People solved the issue by either modifying build.prop or using a module called XSecureStorage or something like that.
Reported working method was;
Uninstall Xposed and Reboot
Wipe data of S-Health and Services
Freeze S-Health and Health Services
Install xposed and reboot
Install XSecureStorage and Reboot
Unfreeze S-Health and Services

It will lag unless you make the modifications mentioned. The framework itself has compatibility issues with s-health service and secure storage. Once you complete the procedure above lag will vanish.

I has issues with Xposed.. Example Play Stores downloads lagged at somewhere before started installing it. It freezed sometime over 2 minutes and was lagging like hell. Then i did this fix and it's working without problem! Tested with two different Note 4 with same root, xposed+modules and busybox.
Have some lug issues also, not much , but sometimes it happens even after applying fix for SHealth

If I enable xposed, I can't use stock messaging. It forces me to use hangouts for messaging. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?
I installed the XSecureStorage Xposed module and S-Health and Private Mode are working fine now. No lags. More info here.

I have xPrivacy enabled and working well, however, everytime I try to uninstall an app from a launcher screen (TouchWiz and Nova), the process freezes and reboots the phone.
Here's the steps I take if anyone with xPrivacy would like to try to reproduce it:
Install any random app from the appstore,
Go to a launcher and hold down the app's icon until the Uninstall option pops up and drag over to Uninstall.
There's a prompt asking me if I want to uninstall the app, i select yes, and it takes me to another screen with a progress bar.
After a few seconds it freezes. After about 40 secs the phone reboots, and the app is gone.
I'm able to uninstall apps just fine using the menu system in Titanium Backup, or if i go directly in Google Play and hit Uninstall on the app's page.
The freezing and reboots only happen when uninstalling directly from Launchers. I tried clearing data for xPrivacy and allowing everything through. That didnt work. I tried using Autostarts and preventing xPrivacy from launching during an Install/Uninstall event. Still didnt work.
If i disabled the xPrivacy module in XposedFramework, then the process works fine.
Could someone verify this issue and perhaps inform me of a fix?
thanks.
I have exactly the same problem with Xprivacy to uninstall applications.
I search too a fix for this issue. Perhaps contact the author of xprivacy..

It also happens for me, too WHY?!:silly:
Any update?
If you are sure it is caused by XPrivacy, then you should report it directly on GitHub to the developer and provide logcats.
Please read this thread:

Thanks for the information. I am having this same issue myself. but I need dude to get to this "known" issue sooner than that. I paid for pro version and I need to uninstall a bunch of stuff. I might uninstall xPrivacy, then install it back when I'm done.

Hi all,
Got my Galaxy S5 G900W8 (Rogers - Canada) Rooted and got TWRP working well..
Loaded Xposed with some modules, all seems stable and good..
Only 2 issues so far;
1. S Health will not work, I tried clearing data/cache, uninstalling updates, wont work. And I keep getting pop ups saying Health Monitor stopped working, or something along those lines. Any idea why, and what I can try to fix it ?
2. I am using the Xposed Module "App Settings" to lower the DPI value of some apps - most are working great. Is there any way to change the drag down notification area ? I cannot find a setting for it. I did find "systemUI" but nothing changed. I also tried changing the value in build.prop but it did not stick. Not sure it would scale properly anyways but wanted to try nonetheless as it fills up quick.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

Xposed and S Health don't get along at all

Alright guys,
Essentially I'm having a little problem with my S Health App, I am on the rooted N9100f phone with the Echoe rom installed.
every so often my S Health app seems to reset my profile to a Jame Lee born 01 Jan 1970, 4' 11" and 110lbs. I feel sorry for the human if he does exist but I'm not sure why this is happening. Does anyone have any experience with fixing this or just it happening to them.
Also I don't seem to be about to restore to a backed up S Heath profile which is kind of weird.
Anyways Cheers in a advance
I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but you have multiple personality disorder, and are changing it yourself.
Sorry, no clue.
That's because you are James Lee.... you've always been James Lee <que dramatic music>

S Health "James Lee" Problem
Some of you use xmodgames? I think this is the problem. I get the same problem, when i uninstall the app, I dont get any errors on S Health.

It's not xmodgames, as I don't have that installed on this phone and never did.
I have the exact same issue. I highly suspect it is one of the root apps messing with some background Samsung service which S Health requires to work properly. Will be watching this thread and trying to figure out what exactly causes this. I hope we get to the bottom of this soon.

I don't have my s5 active rooted or x mod games and see this James Lee issue now too on S Health. Could it be default values set by samsung dev when app is reset?
This happens when xposed framework is being installed cause it has issues with S-health secure server. It is a need of disabling s-health server security to make the phone work with xposed without issues. Everytime xposed get reinstalled the S-health app resets. You then got to install the backup from your S-health sync service and all is well. Rmember to sync just before updating or installing xposed (or Roms with xposed) to not loose data.
Wanam xposed kit has this option to deactivate secure server to make xposed framework function well with phones having S-health. Most custom rom implements xposed framework and then probably also need to disable secure server.
Edit. To be able to sync/backup S-health, aecure server must be disabled first by installing Wanam kit or other xposed apps with this option. Many custom roms also implements Wanam features.

Liking the phone so far after owning the OnePlus One then the Two. Thought for the same price, the value of the Axon was several times better off.
But. But the biggest pet peeve. No option to switch to on screen soft keys. To make matters worse, the non lit capacitive ones.
So, question remains, anyone tried to install the framework and installed Gravity box or something?
Sent from my ZTE A2017U using XDA-Developers mobile app
Yes, there are guides on the forums for how to install Xposed. However, I and a couple other individuals have bricked our devices playing around with Gravitybox; you should make a backup before messing with anything regarding Gravitybox.
GravityBox in combination with heavily modded (by ZTE) ROMs is always risky. GB has a big warning agianst using it on non-stock or stock-ish roms
I used Gravity box for 3 things and had no issues:
1) Circle battery icon
2) Center clock (in status bar)
3) Re-orientate volume controls according to how the device is being held
Like I said, I had no issues whatsoever, but that's all I used.
Yep, Xposed is working great. Modules I am using are:
AcDisplay, Adblocker, App Settings, GravityBox, Snapprefs (the updated one), and XGPM to customize Google Music.
Not all options function on each mod, especially GravityBox, but the ones that didn't, did not have a negative effect on anything, they simply didn't work.
In my opinion there is no reason to not use Xposed. I am not having any device slowdown or lag issues like on other devices either.

I used Xposed for about a week. I disabled it because I tweaked something in gravitybox that gave me a bootloop (make sure you have the uninstaller zip on your phone just in case!), the phone was noticeably faster. There is a delay when you open apps with Xposed installed even without any modules active that isn't there without Xposed. I've seen this on my oneplus one, nexus 6, Nexus 6p, moto x pure, and now the axon 7. That's about the only issue with Xposed, though, so if you don't mind slightly slower app opening, it opens up a lot of customization. Personally, I go back and forth.

It doesn't break root, but it does make changes to the system partition, and is therefore no longer "systemless".
I was having issues with stock Nougat rebooting, crashing and not being able to pass the SafetyNet. I was using three modules on Xposed. I was using YouTube adaway, gravitybox and YouTube background playback.
Once I uninstalled the modules and uninstalled Xposed..... The stock Nougat was running fast and smooth. I didn't know how much Xposed was affecting the ROMs performance.
Has anyone expience the same issue with Xposed on stock Nougat?

I agree big time unfortunately. I had those three (and others) modules installed and it would reboot at least once a day. I found out that Youtube Background Playback was crashing Youtube at startup so I removed it completely. Also, I've found that the only version of Xposed that doesn't cause the crashes is 89.1. So I've remained steady there, despite the newest being 89.3 (I haven't tried 90 yet). Hope this helps.

Since I wasn't using many modules I found a YouTube replacement and I can live without Gravitybox. I am using YouTube Vanced for rooted device and it's does the same thing no ads and background playback.
I was using version 89, but don't remember if it had .3. I used the installer to pick the latest one. All I know is that the ROM has improved in performance. I like the mods from Gravitybox, but I don't want to sacrifice performance.
YouTube was crashing at start up, but it was version 2.04. There is a 2.05 version, but you have to get it from the repo source, because it's not on the XDA thread. Once I installed version 2.05 YouTube was not crashing.
Besides not rebooting, Do you think you are loosing some performance on 89.3? Is there a way to pass the SafetyNet with Xposed?

I used this previously and stopped. It was slow to catch up with official youtube updates, and honestly, didn't work correctly. That was ~6 months ago, so maybe it's better now?

If you used Magisk to install Xposed, it was likely 89.3. I agree that GravityBox is awesome, but does seem to suck speed and battery. I feel the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

No of course not. Was passing SafetyNet good for anything other than NFC Pay apps? If not, the G4 doesn't have NFC so it doesn't matter!
