Hi all,
I've had CM11 installed and running on my Mi2s for a while and then my screen got cracked. Long story short, 2 month later i'm back to my Mi2s and CM11 does not start, it gets stuck on CM logo boot animation for a very long time (i think the longest i let it run was about 10 minutes).
Things i've tried with the same result:
DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET, then re-install
DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET, and installing other simialr ROMs: Omni, Gummy, Lungo
Installing same as above but on 2nd system (where I have WIUI)
Only similar ROM that did start was Mokee. WIUI also starts-up with no problem.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
-arnon
Nobody?
Some more stuff i tried:
I've run the re-partition script hoping that the bootloop was due to not enough space, but no luck either.
I've also tried to format /system and then install, but no go.
Tried to install CM10.2.... nope
did you check that you have installed the correct rom for mi2s? you should download in ARIES in mokee. i have same problem with you before and I found that i downloaded a wrong rom from xiaomi forum.
cheers

Hey there! I was updating my version of Paranoid Android and my kernel and it seemed fine at first but It yield some odd problems. I went into Clockworkmod recovery and Flashed my rom and kernel I then proceeded to wipe my cache and dalvik cache. I have done this many times before on many devices. I encountered a problem when I rebooted for the second time, I got the Android is updating apps display and I continued to get it every time I booted. The device would also randomly turn off when the screen dimmmed. I proceeded to set out and fix it. Here are the steps I took and the problems it caused.
Flashed stock rom-would not boot properly
Flash RESET kernel-I messed up and though this was a real kernel, my problems escalated from here.
Flashed stock rom and recovery.
Flashed reset kernel and then real kernel-Still had problems.
Flashed stock rom
My problems from all this accumulated somewhat and I can barely boot into fastboot. I get weird static screens and weird white noise sounds. It does not always let me boot into android and will get to the google logo 1 out of ten tries.
These is really unnerving and I have no clues whats what.
Note: I am using Faux123's kernels and his reset kernel.
Thanks a lot for any help!!!
I tried loading the latest build (CM10 11/28) onto my defy. I completely forgot to load gapps afterwards and went ahead and rebooted. Now, it gets stuck on the cyanogenmod logo and does not boot past that. The only thing I can do is remove the battery. When I reboot, the same thing happes. Unfortunately, I no longer get the boot menu so I can't even run recovery from my backup.
How can I fix this so I can use my phone again?

Nevermind...apparently pressing vol. down when the LED flashes blue gets me to a boot menu. Pheww!
Got it loaded, but having several problems: cannot connect to Play store, cannot receive phone calls, and email is spotty.
Please ask all questions in Q&A. Thread moved there.

Your Gapps not working correctly, probably you installed incorrect ones, I recommend you to repeat the whole process:
1 full wipe x2 (you loose data so if you have data ensure yourself a backup)
2 flash stock sbf with rsd lite
3 root your phone
4 install 2ndinit
6 install cm10 from custom recovery
7 full wipe again
8 boot phone at least once
9 install quarx minimal gapps (thats your actual problem, your gapps not working correctly)
10 wipe again
11 restore backup if any.

I don't think he has to flash the sbf, just flash gapps n wipe data n cache. also try dalvik cache
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
You could simply install a new .zip from recovery. You could use the same CM10 11/28 or any other rom. This shoud work out for you.
I experienced the same with my Defy today and I installed a new CM 10 09/05 by Epsylon and it worked like a charm.
Thank you for the replies!
I had to flash it a hundred times to get it to work (I kept getting write access errors for cache folder). What ended up working was to wipe everything and install the 9/24 build. From there, I rebooted and installed (without wiping) the latest build along with the correct gapps. It works fantastically now! My phone is soo much more responsive and I'm loving CM10.
3ze had it right. I was using the latest gapps (12/2) instead of the "minimal" version in the quarx dir.
I haven't noticed a battery drain as has been widely reported here. In fact, it seems to be less of a drain now though that is likely due to the fact that I wiped everything and only installed apps I needed this time around. Tons of unnecessary apps could explain why my battery life was less before.
I have noticed a slight difference in reception now though. Places that used to be fine for connecting to the network (Tmobile) have now become less strong and frequently dropping out. I wonder if the signal strength could have been messed with?
On my i747 I installed Omni ROM 4.4.3-20140620-d2lte-HOMEMADE. After install and reboot I noticed the load time was in excess of five minutes from the moment the Omni logo splash appears. Is this normal? I can't be sure but I think each boot takes longer, (so tired right now). Any suggestions?
I am experiencing the same. I flashed to my SPH-l710 using the latest from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2591298.
I would love to go back to using this rom. I absolutely love it miles above CM but the boot time is easily in excess of 10 minutes.

Talk to whomever provided the build, as that is not an officially supported device (in addition to not being present at dl.omnirom.org - the HOMEMADE part of the filename is a dead giveaway).
First bootup after installation is always long - if subsequent boots are long there's a problem though.
It is normal if it is your first boot after flashing new rom...
It just that the Android is installing (preparing apps for first use)
The same will happen when you clear Dalvik cache or change runtime from Dalvik to ART.
If it is the same on second and other boot then it is problem with your rom
Dodgy apps (or heaps of apps) can cause that too. Is it still slow if you do a factory reset ? (do a backup before hand so you can restore all your data). As pointed out above if you do a factory reset the initial boot will still be slow
Thanks everyone. I went ahead and wiped the drive then installed CM11 for the i747 (d2att) and all is well with booting. One day I will check out omnirom again because the features are just insane!
Hello, Newbie Here!
So I recently flashed the Resurrection Remix ROM Build 6.8 and Kernel 6.2.
The Build is rather stable and In my honest opinion better than CM12.1 which I was on previously.
So the normal functions of the phone are normal and I feel this is a much stable build. I use a ASUS Zenfone 5(ASUS_T00F)
But I face random reboots where the phone restarts itself and gets stuck at the boot. Only when i try to force reboot from the bootloop screen does the phone restart normally and even that takes three or four attempts. First I thought it was just getting used to the new Kernel then when this started occurring frequently I became more aware that this might just be a potential risk.
Today afternoon, My Phone was literally stuck at bootloop for 2 hours.... Only when I tried to do three-four manual forced reboots by pressing my power key and with each instance entering the TWRP mode and doing a dalvik and cache wipe only then was I able to boot up my phone normally.....It totally drained the battery though. I was at 78% and when my phone finally booted up I was shocked to see just 1% charge left.
Everytime this issue occurs...either the phone is completly stuck in bootloop or goes to the "Android is upgraing your apps" notification and then again comes back to the bootloop.
I have also done two fresh flashes before this as well so I know its got nothing to do with a dirty flash.
I then started googling for the same issue that other Zenfone 5 users might be experiencing but to my shock...No threads on it could be found with the issue that Im experiencing.
Pretty frustrated right now I have no clue what to do.
Donot want to go back to STOCK ROM..It sucks.
Please help Guys!
Hello.
You should try to format system and reinstall the rom + xposed. After that you can format data, cache, internal storage. I hope that it will help you.
And did you have this problem on CM12.1?

Hi all, this is my first post so be nice!
First off, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to flashing custom roms. I've had my G900F for almost a year now and I always hated one thing about it: TouchWiz (or DungWiz as I like to call it). So, last week, I decided to take the plunge and flashed albinoman's CM13 on it. For the most part, it has served me well but I wanted to try out VRToxin as well and so, I flashed it today. However, I wasn't able to get past the Welcome screen because of constant 'SystemUI has stopped' error loop. To better explain my problem I'll list exactly what I did:
Note: Before flashing VRToxin, I had CM13 Dec 10 build.
1. Downloaded VRToxin-v2.0-20151205-klte-RELEASE and Stock GApps from opengapps.org
2. Copied the files to phone's internal storage.
3. Shut down the phone and booted it into TWRP.
4. Did a full nandroid backup.
5. Did a full wipe: Delvik cache, System, Data and Cache.
6. Flashed the VRToxin rom and then flashed the open gapps (stock)
7. Rebooted the phone and got to the Welcome screen. However, I cannot get past this as 'SystemUI has stopped' error keeps popping up.
I've since restored CM13 from TWRP backup.
If anyone can help out with this problem or provide info about why this is happening, I'd greatly appreciate it!

The problem is GAPPS. I noticed this too. Just do a full wipe (i know, again ) and install the GAPPS from VRToxin (filename = vrtoxin-gapps-mm-20151101). Link = http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyS5/900froms/VRToxin. I don't have a actual fix but he its a workaround :cyclops:
Thanks Dante, I'll give it another go

And? did it worked?
I'm gonna be honest with you im currently searching for the stock Lollipop (rooted) for S5 (SM-G900F) because this ROM isn't working for me.
- Bluetooth isn't working. (it does not turn ON, you can slide but its still OFF)
- 2x clock-app in the menu
- Music player does not work even the google play music app. ( i use VLC media player)
- No fingerprint security lock.
But its a pain in the [email protected]#$%^&*()_+ to find it here on XDA. If you know where to find it please let me know.
