Region Lock Unlocking for i9500 S4

Hello guys,
Does anyone work on unlocking the new Region Lock for i9500 ?
I know some work being done for note3, but what about s4 ?
I'm stuck with a US locked i9500 (outside of US). The "activation" with US sim did not work (it worked in US but once i'm abroad it is locked, but even here works with american sim). I can test things on my phone / provide logs if needed.

Im actually also having the same problem. I even tried unlocking through code and using apps,didnt work for me

I haven't tried but you can check these methods.
1. I heard that root is needed together with the app like region lock away.apk by chainfire
2. Further, it seems that purchasing a SIM unlock code not only unlocks the device’s SIM, but also its region.
3. With root explorer navigate to system/csc/customer.xml*file (if you can)
It will contain list of Network Lock fields including one for your country MCC for e.g for Thiland it's MCC is (520) and China MCC (460).You can find your country mcc by googling.
Thailand NetworkLock field in CSC file might look like:*<NetworkLock>520BB</NetworkLock>.
China NetworkLock field in CSC file might look like:*<NetworkLock>460BB</NetworkLock>.
This would help understand what might be the reason for the change in lock state whether it is a change in the regional NetworkLock list in the CSC .
Find your country in which you are in respective mcc code and search in the xml file if you find it delete that mcc code line and save it. But please don't forget to make backup in case if it doesn't work
Tell me if it works otherwise some other person will surely help you guys.

1. Tried the RegionAway app v1.3 by chainfire. it was sucessfull but nothing changed. it is still locked. ( the app is designed for note3 as far as i understand)
2. i've heard about many who tried their luck with purchasing codes - it does not work. Also confirmed with unlocksamsungonline.com it wont help
3. my customer.xml does not contain the string "lock". This is probably because i've downloaded and flashed an official version of my local firmware. (thought maybe it will unlock) - it didnt. Also tried to flash older modems - or it does not work completely or still locked.
Also got a comment from unlocksamsungonline.com that "I9500 is Andriod1 model with new EFSv2 security" and is a problem ....

I have an S4 GT-I9500 from Colombia, manufactured in Korea, haven't rooted the phone yet, looking for anyone who has region unlocked their phone. Can't unlock from service mode as UMTS is limited. Help Needed desperately

Eventually i found a guy with Z3X box and he unlocked it in 3min by pushing "Unlock" button on his laptop

[Q] Galaxy s4 i9500 sim unlock problems

Hi, guys. A friend of mine asked me to help with sim-unlock of I9500. I no nothing about the background of the phone but it cam with corrupted imei and sim locked status. When inserting the sim, phone poped up notification saying that it works only in US and Latin America.
Initial ROM was I9500UBUEMK1, reflashing it to I9500XXUAMDK with I9500UBUBMG9 modem helped to restore the IMEI. But sim-lock is still present. Tried different modems, nothing works. I get Current Command is 111 when I try to enter service mode. Some modems give access to servicemode menu however, does not read the imei, so unlock is also imposible on them. Any advises are welcome.

i have Samsung GT-I9500 that kindly ask for sim unlock code.
i have seen device can be unlock via service mode (which i can't really get in to , i tried few roms , also rooted but always got menu not exists)
1. how can i unlock it ?
2 which rom/modem will enable me to operate the service mode menu (on i9500 noti9505)
this is my first thread , and i deeply search this forum before i post it

You'll need to downgrade to Android 4.2.2 in order to do this, if you're not already on 4.2.2.
Root using CF-Autoroot.
Install RegionLock Away and run it.
That should remove your SIM lock. Then install the current ROM for your device, twice.

i have tried it with no luck , still get

RegionLock Away may not work for the 9500. I have a 9505, so I can't give you any insight into what is or isn't happening. If however, it doesn't work, then you may have no choice but to purchase an unlock code. Especially if the Service Menu trick isn't working for you either.

Dear sir i have a galaxy core prime that have a country lock, i need to know that can i unlock it by flashing a unlocked firmware through odin. If it cant do the unlock. How can i unlock it with out using unlocking services, plzz can any one guide me to correct sucessfull procedeer

Do you mean "simlocked" ? Which firmware is actually installed and in which country you want to use the phone?

Dear sir my phone is locked to SAUDI ARABIA mobile provider called MOBILY, i want to unlock it to use in sri lanka. When i put a sim that is curruntly use in sri lanka And when i turn on it ask "ENTER NETWORK UNLOCK CODE" with 2 buttons ok and dismiss.
I dismiss it and continue iam able to use phone and it shows full signal but no career name and emergency call only. When i make a call it shows not registerd on network. Plzz help me

Same problem here. I tried whole different ways including reflashing ROM but didn't work. Then I found Region unlock app by chainfire. It worked like a charm. Also you need to root your mobile first. Rooting method is somewhere in xda. Search it . Hope it helps.

Which means the attached image was my problem. I guess it is same as your problem. I simply don't know what is meant by "country locked or sim locked"

i got "ENTER NETWORK UNLOCK CODE" SO slightly different
but i think same problem... thanks boss

I live in Argentina and I see that the 2 Core Prime G360F for my kids purchased 3 days ago in parís, have the regional SIM block. The Fnac seler dont warned about this.
Now I see that on the lower side of the boxes has a warning on regional SIM lock. The solution of Samsung is to activate a 5 minute call with a European SIM. For me, it is a lote complicated from my country
I'm seeing that an application that unlocks it for Note 3 rooted. Somebody knows if esta apk with The G360F work?

Hello, i have the same problem, there phone Samsung sm g360f which is locked to the Portuguese operator = MEO, want to unlock all operators but I when I try to install software at the end of the process gives me an error that there is insufficient space to install the file. I can only install software that is MEO and those of Vodaphone gives me an error, whether 4.4.4 or 5.0.2
When give me error when I can only install this file (G360FXXU1AOB1_G360FBTU1AOD1_G360FXXU1AOB1_HOME.tar) for Downgrade and repear the smastphone. Pleace help me , I tried with all versions of Odin and it is not work it

try install true or custom firmware to fix problem, some firmware on samsung firmware site is lock and you must Buy country lock code from this site

I installed the region lock away 1.3, it didn't unlock my core prime (t-mobile) G360T. Any ideas or inputs highly appreciated.

can I ask some help how can I unlock my S4 so that i can use any providers. My sim is lock in globe provider. I tried some solution here like using the code *#0011# , but still not woking I can't get Inside in service menu after inputting keyinput 1 nothing happened.Is there other way to unlock my S4 ?

Unlocking your device via Service Mode no works since android 4.3. Buy one code and unlock it by IMEI.

You need to downgrade your modem to a 4.2.2. modem and then use the method.
