Which one work on Xperia X10?and which one is the best?
thx all
I use slidescreen pro, though I would use adw launcher or launcher pro if either of them worked on x10. Also, the slidescreen dev has apparently gone awal, doesn't bother me though, it works flawlessly for me
i still havent seen a launcher as fast as the stock one.

i'll watch the review from youtube...
There's a free version on the market to try out which I would definitely recommend before buying. It's very different from regular android. No widgets or shortcuts.
Of replacers that work on x10, zeam would be my second choice, its a bit sense-y. Though gets a but sluggish if you go a while without a reboot
Home++ is the best among the lot........try it.

Tried almost all.My opinion is that Zeam & Home++ are best. And hide the blue taskbar that it doesnt suiys to my likes
Helix launcher runs fine for me. It's not bad and some people are saying that it actually conserves battery life if you use it. So you might want to look into that.

Biggest disadvantage (for me that is), is that it only has 3 screens... I've been looking for an alternative the past few days (and so I found this forum), I think I'm gonna try the HelixLauncher Donut.
Will post when I've tested it for some time.
im running helix launcher since yesterday and my battery time has maybe doubled!!
Helix Launcher Donut HERE, the best i ever tested!

I have one of the screens empty, one with the clock and timescpape and another one with 4 shortcuts and the widget with wifi/bt/gps.
How 3 are not enough?
Anyway, i'll give Helix a try, maybe will improve the battery life

After installing a bunch of apps, the menu isn't so useful anymore IMHO. So, I place shortcuts on the home screen, to have quick acces to my most used apps.
At the moment, I've got like 4 shortcuts to games, and shortcuts to apps like Market, Barcode Scanner, YouTube, ASTRO etc. Moreover, I want to have my agenda (SmoothCalendar) on my home screen as well. I had to remove the clock to have SmoothCalandar and TimeScape on the same screen...
There's just not enough space

Well, excepting the widgets, how is helping you to scroll 5 times left or right looking for a shortcut instead of scrolling up or down?
Personally I have tried Panda, Crazy, Zeam, Helix... Probably a few more.
The first two are nice if you like applying full themes (icons, bars, different backgrounds). I liked the possibility to slide up/down between screens in crazy. But in the end, both these two apps slowed my system down too much.
Love the docker in Helix, but at the moment I prefer the 9 screens that Zeam offers. No, I don't slide 5x sideways a lot. But I've collected everything that I need at work on one screen, for training in another, home entertainment on the third, etc.
I have tried SlideScreen a bit, looks very different and professional. However, I couldn't find a way to use other email accounts than gmail, so I gave it up.

Zeam for me.
Zeam - super light weight. HelixDonut had FC's once in awhile.
Is there a way to remove a home screen (one of the seven) after I have deleted all the apps/widgets off of it? I find that I really only need 4 or 5 of therse screens. Thanks!

The only way I know to do this is remove roise and that gives you 5 screens. You can then install any custom launcher and set how many screens you want. I dont think custom launchers work with sense but i may be wrong. I have made my own rom with no sense and use custom launcher. Runs a lot faster.

you could get a new home replacement on the market that will let you customize how many screens you have.
some ppl reported they don't see some launchers in market..
search for "Launcher" and try these out:
LauncherPro Beta
HelixLauncher
ADW.Launcher
For 2.1 Tag Home
They are all customizable (screens, docking shortcuts, programs layout, etc)
NOTE: Sense Widgets are built into Sense, so if you're gonna use different launcher some widgets will disappear..
I have an Evo and some of the launchers don't show up, which is rather annoying...it would be nice to have LauncherPro as an alternative to the stock Launcher (hard to get to on the Evo but you can enable it) or Sense.
After installing ADW Launcher EX, i noticed that the Music-Widget, Timescape Widget, and the Picture & Video Widget don't show up in the widget list.
Is there a way to use these widgets within ADW Launcher?
I tried many other widgets from all over the markets, but couldnt find good alternatives for Music and Picture-widgets.

They only work with the Sony home launcher. The widgets depends on something in the launcher. It's the same on htc phones some widgets only work with the native launcher as they depends on the sense overlay of the UI wich is only there in the native lancerer. All 3rd party launchers depends only on the android fw and therefore does not support the different overlays of UI's done by the different company's afaik.

This sucks These widgets are great, but i want my launcher to be more flexible and customizable, so i installed ADW....
So i think i have to search again for some alternatives

Poweramp has the best music widget i dont use a picture one though
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
I already tried out nearly all music-apps/widgets, but there is no widget having the feature(s) i want. It's especially the progress-bar when playing a song and showing how long the song is.
I was wondering this as well, Sucks that you can't get the widget. I was using Winamp for a while, that worked well and has wireless sync with my PC. Only problem is that when using the bluetooth headphones (mw600) the controls always open the default music player.

yeah, they require the SE Framework, and as such won't work with other home launchers!
You could try MIUI music player. Search in the generel android themes and app section.

I tried it, but it doesnt have this feature.
Hello,
I don't know if anybody know about this fix or not, but I've just found a way to fix the lag when the home screen auto-orient from landscape to portrait and vice versa: click on the + button that you use to add widgets and apps to the home screen, select any tab other than the add widget tab, go back to your home screen and that's it no more lag! I believe the left and right screen transitions are smoother as well.
I do not know if this problem/fix is specific to our tab or honeycomb as a whole, but I'm glad I found a workaround since it was really bothering me. I hope this can be useful to somebody.
Wow - that really works well; thanks!
Hmm, still a bit laggy. 3-5 seconds to re-orient due to rotation. Seems too long, IMO.
...Ok, maybe a small reduction.
Hmmm 3 to 5 secs was what I had before the fix, it's now only about 1 sec.
Do you have many widgets and use a live wallpaper perhaps?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
No live wallpaper, just minimalistic text and weather widget.
I don't know why but this works perfect! I went from a whole 6 seconds for the orientation to change to near instant changes. I noticed once you choose a different tab, I have apps shortcuts chosen, if you go back into the + menu that tab is still selected. This is a strange bug but awesome. Thank you
i really didn't spend much time on the stock launcher, but launcher pro switches quickly.

I concur. The best way to get rid of the lag is to use a different launcher. Personally, I prefer ADW Launcher EX because it is "optimized" for Honeycomb, but LauncherPro is a great alternative.
I've never had more than a 1 second orientation lag. What am I doing differently?

Are they smoother? I think my biggest Honeycomb pet peeve is the choppiness when swiping to different home screens. It makes the tablet feel slow to me. I have LauncherPro on my Nexus S but Im not sure if I'd use a phone launcher on a tablet...
Strangely its working !!!!!!!!!!!!
Huh, it does work. But doesn't survive a reboot. Have to redo after reboot.
Amazing indeed! Great find! Will test on my friends thrive tomorrow too. I think that HC, for some odd reason, is caching the widget drawer on the background and it might be straining the orientation of the device. They need to have HC keep the alo or other drawer on default instead to keep his from happening every time you restart.

thanks dude work like a charm
Anybody know if there is any way we can submit a bug report to Samsung/Google?

Same here and I'm using live wallpaper. Maybe it's the ROM I have loaded?
so being new to android, i find this weird lol. so widgets are only available for apps that you have correct? and you can place either widgets or the app icon on the home screens?
also how do i resize widgets? i've pressed and held on the widget and the only options available are to drag somewhere else.
Pretty much. Note that some widgets are not resizable.

Unless you use a third-party launcher such as Nova and Apex that allows you to resize widgets that are normally not re sizable.
Being able to resize a widget depends upon if that function was added by the developer. Most of the widgets supplied with Android Pro Widgets (paid version not sure about free) are resizeable by long pressing them.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rdr.widgets.core
Not all apps have a widget, and keep in mind that some widgets use more battery based on how often they sync
