Hello everyone, I switched over from good'ol i9300 to note exynos today.
My question is how do you enable fast charging? It is grayed out as you can see from the screen shot.
Thank you in advance.

Read somewhere that it was available when the phone was switched off and charging, from the picture looks like there is a tick in the box but you are not able to interact.
So my guess is phone switched of and use the fast charger that came with the phone.
Found this, although it doesn't help you

Just a thought did you have the phone plugged into the charger at the time you went into the menus, perhaps it need to sense the charger to activate

I believe this not to be the case, this following video demonstrates the Galaxy Note 4 quick charging whilst being switched on:

Sorry if this is an obvious question but are you using the original charger and cable that comes with the phone? it will only work with these.
Indeed I am using original charger and original cable.
So what's happening here? =_=

Figured out wats going on.
Whilst plugged into usb/ac, the option become non-interactive.
Once I unplugged the cable I could make changes.
Take 'NOTE' everyone, haha

So my nexus had been unplugged and without charge for about 3 weeks or so, I've been very busy at work. I try and connect the tablet so that i can use again and the screen flickers for an instant and nothing happens, I don't see the white icon charging animation and no response after that. It's my tablet done or is there a solution for this. Thanks to anybody that can help.

Ok, I don't really know what exactly the problem is. But I think the battery seems to be dead. because if it is still good, at least it shows the indicator light when it's plugged with charger.. If u have a simple tool to test battery energy maybe u can find out. or maybe try another battery..
Leave it plugged into the charger for a good while and then hold down the power button hard, for about 30 seconds. See if that forces it on.
How long did you leave it plugged in for? It may take a few hours...

It was plugged for like an hour or so and no dice.
I think im screwed

Not sure if it would help your specific problem, but my thread covers every fix known-to-man for issues such as yours. Check it out if you haven't yet.

Try leaving it plugged in overnight. I once had a laptop battery die on me, had to plug it in for like a week before it would turn on again.

Your device is hibernating to prevent further damaging the battery. Plug it in... boot to bootloader... select power off using the volume keys... the tablet will now charge normally

hi
My problem is solved, I have a friend who had the same problems with the tablet Nexus 7 16GB, the back of the unit opens easily with just a fingernail to open a case as remote and actually the battery plug is not fully inserted into the camera, a little bit of nail to reconnect the cable and now my tablet displays well 100% load.

Yup - there is a sticky that covers this method, and all the other methods as well. For anyone else suffering from similar N7 issues, be sure to check it out. Either go to stickies in this Troubleshooting section, or use this link.
So I powered off my Nexus 7 last week before I went on vacation and found it completely dead when I tried to turn it on a week later - it would not even turn on. After charging for about 10 minutes it booted up but the battery was at 1% and charging. Initially i though I forgot to turn it off, but then again I was pretty sure I did. Once it charged up I powered it off completely ("Power Off" option after holding down the power button) and left it till 5PM the next day. Once it booted up it showed that I had only 44% charge, that's down from 100% just last night! WTF? It lasts me 3-4 days if it sleeps but looses 66% charge when powered off!? Anybody in the same boat?
It's the government tracking you. (Yes they can track a powered off device)

Cool! Thanks!
Also forgot to mention that my tablet was completely dead when I exchanged because of the touch screen issues with the previous one. The previous one turned on just fine! So maybe it was a bad batch, even though I hope it's not
I'm using GTab 8.9, but I experienced the same thing as the OP, too. I tried switching kernels and this issue went away.

I don't believe OP's story. Why would you go on vacation and leave your N7 at home? Your story doesn't add up.

I'm not starting a war here, but why would he lie? There's no reason for the OP to do so. (Except for increasing post count which I don't think so.)

Swapped out for a new unit. Issue solved.
Hello I'm new to the nexus 4 forms. Okay so today I traded my Galaxy note 1 for the nexus 4 and the HTC One x. I was really excited to see the nexus 4 for the first time. Upon looking at it, the screen had 3 cracks in it but the person said it still functions fine. Cracks don't really bother me that much anyway. He also said that it needed a new battery and that the phone can still be turned on/used. When I went home I plugged it in and I saw a flashing red-light. Then a few minutes after I saw the charging icon on the screen. I waited abit more and tried powering on, the battery icon disappeared and I saw the flashing red light again, I left it alone for about 30m+ and when I looked at it I saw the battery icon filling up and down but there was no raise in charge. So I started looking things up. I have tried opening the phone and disconnecting the battery on and off the board, stripping a USB cable with the + and - connections putting it on the battery for 13-15mins plugged into a laptop (I used my playstation 2), and that didn't work. What I then did is take the battery out and plugged in the charger only. I managed to get into the bootloader screen but when pressing start I see the Google word and it just shuts off. Awhile later it just got to the point where when I plug in the charger the red light blinks and stays that way (occasionally I will see the charging logo). I will buy a new battery if needed I just wanted to make sure there's something I didn't try yet, or confirm the battery is the issue. There doesn't appear to be any water damage and everything looks clean inside the phone. I can post a picture of the battery if needed. Hopefully this phone isn't dead and can be working again, I saw afew videos called the red light of death where the nexus 4 was plugged in with a steady red light appearing with no charging at all, mine only flashes so I think that is a good sign. I guess I will plug it in all night when i go to sleep hoping for it to turn on in the morning. I've also already called lg and they have horrible service... Please let me know if there's anything else I can try. Thanks!

You gotta be kidding right... Dang. So one Crack will make it not work? I mean I'm on my HTC Droid and I was able to still use it 100% normal after dropping and cracking the screen slightly.

we are talking about LG nexus 4 , not a htc. Nexus 4 digitizer is made directly on front glass.

Use this app to see how much current your phone is recieving. You want to have at least 1000mA for a decent charge.
Thanks sir.... thanks for your advices...

So one week ago my brother gave me his s5, with the phone info app it showed me that the device has around 300 charge connections and now one week later it shows me OVER 2000!!! How can this be possible; the charger is the original one. The only thing i took from my old phone were the sim and sd card. But can they harm the charge connections??? I really have no clue whats going on. Can somebody please help me?

I'm pretty sure that is meaningless, unless you have some problem you can solidly attribute to that then there's no issue to solve here.

It's still really interesting because on my old S3 this happened too (over 13000 chargings over there lol) I think it can be related only to the sim card cause i honestly dont know what else it could be.
