Android movie rentals and XDA app - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Two quick questions - if I try and rent an HD movie from Google Play it says by note 4 does not support HD playback. Does it say this for other note 4 owners or has Google activated the note 4 for HD playback in some countries?
Also, how do I start a new thread using the XDA app? I can't see an option for it!
cheers

I can't be of help regarding the rental playback but which XDA app are you trying to create a thread with? Are you using the free version, the premium version or the newest alpha build?

Ah, just seen the premium app!

Are you guys getting HD? I checked the stream speed and probably I have 1500-1750kbps, which is not HD. I even tried the Netflix mods from XDA to get 3850kbps - while they run (2.4.1 based though) there is no difference in my case.
BTW...if you're thinking of upgrading to 3.0.2, don't! It breaks the "next episode" advancement.
Anyone know of an HD enabled version/mod? I like this new layout and how I can navigate without the mouse pointer for the most part but I hate how videos always start playing so pixelated.
Is there a hd version available?

Thanks for posting a link to the app. I've been wondering if I would be able to use Netflix on it, since it was initially announced as supported.

Paramount Movies App

Does anyone have Paramount Movies app working with their Note 3? I tried downloading from the Play Store but it says that it's not compatible with my device.
(Mods please feel free to move, didn't know if this belonged in Q&A or Apps/Themes)

T-Mobile 2 Sample Videos

briefly noticed 2 HD sample videos in the Gallery (one was scenes of Paris) before performing factory reset and now they are not there. does anybody know if they just come preinstalled with T-Mobile version and not part of the rom?
I have the Sprint version and it had 2 sample HD videos.

Hi,
This week YouTube was announced to support 1080p+
I seem to only have a 720p option, anyone know how we could get a 1080p option on there? Our device supports it...

It appears to be in "testing" mode and is not available to every phone and or version of the phone yet.
Search for "youtube not showing 1080p option android" or "Android 1080p youtube I9505" on google, and you'll get plenty of results.
Here is an XDA thread about it within the S4 section:
