Just found this little tidbit while reading some info about this phone. It looks like IntoMobile received an invite to a Samsung launch party for an unannounced device. Guess we'll find out in a few weeks.

But is this for Tmobile or is it for all the U.S. carriers? I don't want to wait for like 3 months of Tmobile exclusivity until it comes to at&t.
Yea, I wish they would hurry up and announce a carrier. Hopefully it will come out to all 4 carriers so that nobody will be left out.

"There are a lot of rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S launch date floating around the interwebs, but we’ve just received something that might point to a more reliable launch window for Samsung’s upcoming flagship Android phone. We’ve just been asked to save June 29th on our calendars for some mysterious Samsung launch party in New York City. Details are slim (well, none) at this point, but the invite to the smartphone maker’s launch event gets our speculative juices flowing.
The invite informs us that “Samsung Mobile brings you the next generation in Android phones.” Now, if you’ve been keeping up with Galaxy S rumors at all, you’ll know that this particular smartphone boasts a Super AMOLED display, the Hummingbird graphical powerhouse GPU, and is powered by the Android 2.1 OS. All that adds up to what is very likely considered by the South Korean mobile phone giant to be their next generation of Android phones.
Other rumors have the Galaxy S hitting T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) on July 21st. There’s also the possibility that the handset will hit AT&T (NYSE: T) later this year. We could see the handset being launched for one of these (or both) carriers on June 29th, but that’s just speculation. We really have no idea what this launch party is for, but we’d wager that it has something to do with the Galaxy."
I"m not sure I understand why it is so important to keep it all secret. While they go on and on not telling us anything, some folks will get tired of waiting and buy something else. I guess that's why I'm not in marketing...because some things just don't make sense to me.
Agreed. I just want the device as soon as possible. I don't know if it's only getting limited release because of quantity limitations or what, but they know they're going to sell a ton here in the US, why not just get it here?

I think you will find that could be what this thread was about, have a look at the dates posted. You're posting in a 11 month old thread.
Dear all, I was initially awaiting for the countdown of my DHD from Expansys, and supposedly its another 11 days to the 11th of Oct whereby our DHD will be released... But when I checked my order status just now, the estimated delivery date becomes 19 days... Is it that the system has problems, or is it that HTC decided to postpone the release date of DHD?
I'm expecting some sort of delay from HTC. I think we're probably going to be ending up looking towards the end of October for release and us actually having the handset in our hands.
MPD still says 11th. We shall see.
Jeez dont be saying that. I have sold my 2 phones and now working with an old Nokia which has the cover hanging off it.

T-mobile have delayed their launch it's in November now!
I've also put pre-order with mobilephonesdirect.com they were admant it will be 7th Oct.
In my past experience release dates mean nothing. There always seam to be a delay of some sort. I agree with the end of October being a more realistic time of this phone getting in my hand. I wanted it back on September 15th but good things come to those who wait I suppose.

The release date will delay in Finland even further, or do you think that HTC has made enough phones this time to answer the demand?
I too am suspecting a delay .... there have been no reviews by any of the android sites which is normal a week or so before launch to gain interest for the phone and the blogging has been quiet as well.
Disappointed but not surprised, again it will be interesting to hear what the cause of this is. I am watching the prices of Desires on ebay as they are going down in price and am wondering whether the DHD is worth the differential!!

Hmm ive looked at quite a few different sites and no one elso seems to have changed their dates. So i hoping it is just a problem on expansys part and then everyone else will get their HD's in the first week or 2 of next month!
I can't see this phone being released by the end of next week. There are no solid reviews out. Normally release models have been sent out for review. As long as it's out for November 16th my upgrade date I'll be happy.

I called Vodafone tonight, they still have no release date for the Desire HD, but their Desire Z release date is November 1st. Somehow the guy managed to talk me into buying a Galaxy S.

Solid reviews? Have there been any yet. Normally Engadget are pretty hot with reviews and I'm keeping my ear close to the ground for any rumblings of hands on other than the leaks.

Clove still says 6th october for first stock - hopefully that will arrive on time and I'll get one of them
All Swedish online retailers I've checked have October 14th-16th as the release date, and that's how it's been ever since the DHD first appeared on those sites. It's never had an earlier date than that in Sweden.
My order at Expansys still has the 11th/12th October delivery date. Let's hope it stays that way
guyz..it's at least 2 years that release date of brand new hi-end htc devices it's the first week of november...

This one is a bit of a sore point for me...
when I ordered, it said around 9 Jan. When they confirmed, it then said 15 Jan. When I check the order on the notion ink website now, it says simply "February"

For me it's says first on pre-order 6 to 8 weeks
and after on status page it shows me 15-22 jan what means 4 to 6 weeks
and now February what correspond to 6 to 8 weeks
But it's loooooong to wait
When I ordered, it showed 9th Jan. For few days in the preorder status page it showed 9th Jan. Then the pre-order status page changed to - 15th to 22nd Jan :-(
Seeing that for some of you the ship date changed from 9th Jan to February, I am considering myself lucky!!
I hope to get my hands on one of these.

Mine was also originally Jan 9 and changed to Jan 15-Jan 22.
Mine said 6th, then after a few days said 15-22nd. It has stayed there, so I'm glad. It was mentioned that they hoped to get out all orders sooner if possible.

Jan 15-22, hopefully the first shipment delays won't effect us who are slated for the second shipment. As long as I get one eventually I could care less if there is a delay...

Eventually doesn't cut it for me. I understand it's a pre-order, so I can deal with a bit of a delay, but the closer it gets to the Xoom release date the more I'm going to start questioning my order.
Better yet, I'll start thinking about putting it on eBay! It looks like a few people are making a pretty good margin on re-selling their preorders.
How are you going to adjust the angle on the Xoom
camera for a video chat sitting at your desk or in a chair? You are going to have to adjust the angle of the stand it is on. That could be a challenge. Adam owners will reach over and adjust with one finger.
Andy from NIH 15th-22nd and my order doesn't sound like it will be delayed. I got an email from Jon @ norton ink. I think all pre orders will go out together.

I think the Captivate was released on the 17th of July last year. Just a guess, but I think the 22nd would be a good guess, weekend for displays and such, but then again the captivate was release on a Saturday. LOL

The only thing of meaning in that article was the quote from a Samsung exec saying the SGS2 will be released in the U.S. in August. On what carrier is still a mystery.
I just want to point out that one of my suppliers in HK are saying that the Note can be arriving by end of September. Believe it or not, up to you. Hopefully, their update is true.
If that's the case then I'm sure there releasing for U.S for all carriers on October 21

They need to announce it soon then
Most retailers here show an expected release around 27th September. There's some on 26th, 28th, 1st Oct, 3rd, but most show late next week. If that's the case then by next week I'll have what to do.
