Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 revealed as well: http://www.theverge.com/2014/10/15/6982145/nexus-6-announced-google-specs-availability
It's fappening.

Nice. Although I'm flashing back to 4.4.4 official and waiting until more apps convert over to ART.
This was posted in the N4 Lollipop thread. UHG Really starting to regret getting a Deb.
"Android Lollipop will ship on Google’s newest Nexus devices, the Motorola-built Nexus 6 smartphone and HTC-built Nexus 9 tablet, both of which were introduced Wednesday. Google said Lollipop will hit the older Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets on Nov. 3 in an over-the-air update. Lollipop will also hit the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 smartphones, as well as the LTE version of the Nexus 7, later in November."
As for phone... Yeah not gonna get the N6.Too expensive and it would be like using my N7 as a phone. I'll just wait for Project Ara. Think that'll be my next phone.
It was supposed to be "lemon pie"

Do I have to wipe my device again before flashing Android 5.0? Any suggestions for backup and restore apps after flashing?

That would be a real shame if they stop support the new Nexus 7
They already said the Nexus 7's would be getting an official update for Android L. So no need to worry.
We know that bro....just curious!! ^_^
What will happen after lollipop? Will we get that update too?
Nevermind...
I hate that the new Nexus tablet is so expensive. For $100 more than what the Nexus 9 will start at, I got a 10" Windows 8 tablet (full Windows, not that RT crap) with a real keyboard dock (Acer Iconia w510, for anyone who cares). I'll be keeping my Nexus 7. I will pick up the Nexus 6 on contract, though.

Some of the features will be available on the Nexus 7, some won't and you'll need to get a whole new device costing a small fortune to get the full update. It might break things along the way without giving you a way back.
....but then I remember it's Android and not Apple!

Being part of the whole Nexus line, there's a good chance we'll get 4.2 pushed out when the Nexus 4 and 10 get released. Google will be keen to have its flagship line all under the same version.

I agree. Google made it pretty clear (to me at least) that the Nexus line will be receiving the 4.2 update. There was absolutely no mention of Nexus 7 not receiving certain aspects of the update. I would say that Nexus 7 would receive the update the same day the 4 and 10 are released as well.

Lol well if he meant it as a joke it didn't read like one. Especially since a new device owner was asking about something he deemed a legit concern. If it was meant as a joke then my fault.

Got a reliable source on that? I'm guessing no because it's not true. Google has never released an OS on the day it was announced, and when they announce a new device, they never release the OS for older hardware until the new device is available. So the correct answer is to expect the update in the weeks following the N4/N10 release. Hopefully it will be out within a week, but it can take longer.
Google has said they will start rolling out 4.2 from Nov 11th, 2 days before new devices release.

OMG. Dude, this is just a list of SAMSUNG devices. Nexus devices are GUARANTEED to get updates for at least two years. AT LEAST. You really think Google would stop giving updates to a device that was just release LAST YEAR?
I don't see why some people make such a huge deal about these updates. Sure they are nice to have, but they don't make or break a Nexus device.
I know when it will be released - when it's released.

Pretty sure the N7 will get KLP somehow, be it by the wonders of the devs at XDA or by those at Google. I prefer the former over the latter, though. Stock has never suited me.
Wow. It's not like this hasn't been asked numerous times.
Will it get KLP? Assuming that will be the official name, it's likely that it will. The N7 is still well within the support life cycle for updates. Eben if it wasn't, the dev community is more than capable of cooking something from AOSP.
When will it come? Sometime after Google I/O. No one has a crystal ball and can forecast this far out what day Google is going to push the update or release the source.

Is "flo" the codename?
I am trying to get some ROMs going on for this as I might buy one Wed but I am still confused as to what the device codename is.
I will search around some more though I guess.
I started to create a thread on this last night but figured I'd wait for someone else to do it. To make it easy on deciding, gather as many opinions on the official nickname as possible and after a pre determined count, take the average and hopefully enough people will recognize it as the 'nickname'.

Thank you! I just get weary relying on Google results, and prefer confirmation.
Last time I bought a device I just googled it and thought I was going to get a "Sunfire" (Photon 4G) but ended up with a "Asanti" (Photon Q LTE)...
Nexus 7 B
"My Next Device"
Yeah, who knows. I'd prefer a better naming convention. I'm sticking with Nexus 7 (2013).
I can see some confusing coming from this, especially when people start looking for accessories. I already read a Best Buy review where the guy mention how much his daughter loved the tablet he got her, but the hers doesn't have a rear camera.
Google's Support website refers to it as the "Nexus 7 (2013)" while last year's model is referred to as "Nexus 7 (2012)". For the moment, this convention seems reasonable, but I think calling it "Nexus 7 (2nd generation)" or "Nexus 7 flo" is equally clear.

I'm rather peeved about this delay also. We paid for the MOST EXPENSIVE version of the tablet, and we get treated like stepchildren.
I bet Verizon is behind this with their 800 lb gorilla "fart and the world thanks you" attitude about approving updates and devices. The negative of a single-SKU device. Waiting on some monkey in a Verizon office to decide the update is kosher.

Given that the Nexus 4 is also delayed, it likely has something to do with cellular radio firmware, rather than anything involving Verizon. Just a guess, though.

I was so confused because Phandroid.com states that "It’s worth noting that Google specifically mentions “Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 versions with mobile data,” so if you’ve got a WiFi only device or don’t currently have service, you probably won’t be seeing an update in the immediate future." So I'm assuming they are wrong... (not unusual).

I have multiple Nexus devices. The memory leak is still present in lollipop 5.1. It's said Google has identified the problem and will be releasing an update shortly. I don't mind waiting if it will include this fix.
