Back to Stock! Invalid ext4 image - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
i was on the CyanogenMod unofficial on my SGS5 (KK 4.4.4), now I need the stock rom back, but get in Odin3 the error FAILED. The device screen says "invalid ext4 image". I used the official stock rom...
Can anyone help? I have the G900F (Germany, unbranded)
Thanks in advance!

Nevermind! Heres the solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51998616&postcount=4 (the attached PIT only works for European Version!)
EDIT: Now it fails for hidden.img.ext4 . Any solution?

1- Check your downloaded file for integrity (file was downloaded correctly and not corrupt).
2- Maybe the PIT file does not match with the installing firmware. Find another one.

Bricked my sgs4?

Hi, Tried to install root through odin for the first time but the install didn't complete.
Now my sgs won't boot anymore.
It gives, the firmware upgrade error.
I can boot into download mode.
When i try to flash the original firmware for the i9505 it gives an error (something about a pit file missing)...
What can i do to get my sgs4 working again?

seems partitions are corrupt so try getting the 16GB pit file and set it in odin with the repartition option enabled..... and try flashing the new firmware
Under normal circumstances, DO NOT tick "re-partition" during Odin flash of firmware.
Only tick "re-partition" if you have the PIT file as described in previous post
Ensure any firmware (double check !) is that for your specific model.

There's a .pit file in the DOWNLOADER folder at this link: moulnisky DOT com/index.php?dir=Samsung/Firmwares/GT-I9505/
I haven't tested it so don't know if it works, but there you go.
P.S. I had the same issue and restored my phone using Kies firmware recovery mode: samsung DOT com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQPopup.do?faq_id=FAQ00048586&fm_seq=52928

I'm not sure if it was the cause of problem but generally no need to flash the pit file. If you use a PIT file, you should use valid file according to the firmware used.
Check your downloaded files and make sure the download is good? (MD5 checksum...)
Find another valid pit file and try again.

As you changed the partition structure by flashing a pit file, now you may need a pit file from G900FQ to flash FQ-firmware

[Q] Note 4 SM-N910F 5.01 firmware upgrade fail Ext4 to small

Hello,
I have a note 4 SM-N910F and I'm from Belgium.
I have upgraded succesfully my note to 5.01 with a Netherlands firmware N910FXXU1BOC3_N910FTPD1BOC1_TPD. However in this firmware the APN for ZiGGO was hardcoded and I couldn't remove it.
In the mean time a new 5.01 for Belgium has become available N910FXXU1BOC5_N910FPRO1BOC1_PRO. But when I try to flash my note with Odin 3.09 I always end up with an error being hidden.img to big and an EXT4 size fail error. Then I need to flash back to the previous firmware to make it work again.
I redownloaded the firmware to make sure (MD5 was correct) and tried to erase the Note before flashing but with the same flashing error.
Any suggestions ?
Thank you

Make sure you are using the latest ODIN version, which is 3.10.6 and run ODIN as administrator.
I'm using latest Odin in administrator mode but with same result (hidden file failed size too big ext4 error). I see in the forum lot's of people face the same problem and they solve it by integrating it with a new PIT file in Odin. However I can't find the correct PIT file for this one..
Cheers

Flash stock rom and when finish then flash custom recovery twrp and phone booted normally.
@toxictoy
Did you find how solve your problem?
Because I have the same problem like you. The only different that my note4 have region code BTU.
I was able to find online a PIT file for the note 4. I used this to flash the new rom and this worked perfectly.
Could you give me a link to this PIT file ?

Help need i9506 32 gb pit file

Hi
I need 32 gb pit file for Gt- I9506. as i messed with odin .
thanks for help.
When you are flashing with Odin, what is the error message? Posting the full log will help determine possible issues.
Hi
i was getting odin fail ext4 errer while flashing orignal 5.0.1 software .
So i tried to flash with pit file but unfortunatly used 16gb pit file and now i can boot in download mode or twrp but internal memory is messed up or wrongly mapped so cant flash any coustom rom.
i think i can still flash orignal with right pit file!
thanks
Please post a link or upload where i can find 32gb pit file !
thanks
Hi Pl. Help! still Cant finde suitable pit file ! Thanks
Hi,
When flashing, did you select repartition? What message did you get from Odin while trying to upload the 16gb pit file, was it successful?
Try to flash a stock firmware, then a custom recovery, and then a custom rom. Sometimes you just need to start over.
Have not found the 32gb pit file yet, but will continue to search.

When Odin gives an error when repartition is selected and no pit file is selected, i think you are fine.
I did not manage to find a file, searched through google and lxquick, browsed a few pages, with no results, sorry.
Since download and recovery still works i do not think any repartition did happen. If Odin failed this time while flashing the stock firmware, please save the log and post it here, makes it easier for us to understand what is happening. Thank you.
