Select your own song (long duration) as an alarm sound.

Thats one idea. I really thought the s5 got touchwiz right but no ability to change alarm duration should be solved by now. Might just use a 3rd party app, cheers

Repeating alarms: How does built-in "repeat" work?

Under Sounds & Notifications, when one selects "Reminders", there is a tick box called "Repeat".
Presumably this means that when an alarm sounds, it should repeat until dismissed. Mine only plays once. Am I missing something?

Hi there,
Mine's a XDA Exec, and it does repeat although it pauses for about a second or two first. Not nearly loud or persistent enough to be a really decent alarm clock though!
OK, so it seems that aeAlarmPlus is the way to go - looks for an alarm and then comes up afterwards to do a repeating/escalating thing of it's own. Works well.
hi there
ok if u talking about alarms then go to clocks & alamrs --- go to alarm tab then set the time whet ever u want to set then click on the "BELL" icon
there is the option to make it repeat and even u can chose the sound
HTH

Gugi
Yeah, I am using it too.
My problem is that I cant kill the alarm. It gets repeating and I am getting more and more mad. Or is this on purpose ? as I have to wake up and tick the box of with the stylus....
Anybody has the same problem?

Playing with alarms may have been the reason why my calendar was not able any more to remind me.
When soft resetting even alarms of all kind made me mad.
I hard reset (horrible job with a lot of work to do) solved my problem, but I do not touch the alarm any more.
Hope your problem is different

i have the same problem. It goes off every time and repeats for a couple of times and I dont see any option to close/kill it.. good thing I still have te sense not to bang it against the wall like an alarm clock.
i guess if the built in alarm function is not working or it goes crazy, just use any other free alarm application. i know theres a lot of free application out there.

Alarm Clock

Just upgraded to the M3100 from C600 and am liking it, however as with all smartphones I have had the built in alarm is pretty useless and I end up switching it off with out realising (I am a heavy sleeper).
I got an application for the C600 called Gentimer which has a nice feature called "Sleepyhead" that requires you to enter a 6 digit random code to actually turn the alarm off, you can snooze without the code but it is required to turn the alarm off.
This isn't fully compatible with the M3100, therefore I was wondering if there are any other alarms with similar functionality that will be of great use to me...
Help please, Monday morning coming up and won't wanna get up...
Thanks
Mark
Try PocketAlarm. It has a lot of features to wake up anybody.
Does this PocketAlarm have the ability to have to enter a code to switch off the alarm.
Any other recommendations for good alarms?
Thanks

I really wouldnt rely on the alarm clock on the tytn. mine is very sporadic. the problem is there is a bug in the M$ code that makes the "waking up the phone" part, not work.
I heard of a product called "CityTime Alarms". anyone had an experience of this?
Thanks
Mark

yes, that works just as well as all the other alarms and non of them do very well at waking the phone up from standby.

What do you mean? Is not 100% fiable any software alarm other than integrated in WM5?
mdavenport, I like Chronos. In addition to the usual alarms, it has a chime every hour (or fraction) that sounds like... my old Casio watch!!
Thanks for the info...
One ongoing problem I find with the alarms on phones is mainly down to me but can be helped by the software. Basically I always seem to hit the dimiss button and turn the alarm off and then over sleep..
Does Chronos have a big snooze button and small dismiss to help avoid this..
Thanks
Mark
Pocket Wake up has a slightly larger snooze button
Im still struggling to find one I get on with. I am using SPB Time but it seems a little bit overkill for what I want.
Basically, I want one that allows multiple alarms, mp3 tones and a more difficult way to dismiss the alarm so I don't accidentally dismiss all my alarms...
Anymore suggestions...
Mark

Alarms

is that it? 3 alarms, with no way of setting the alarm ringtone or loudness of it? Are there any 3rd party apps I could install that would let me have more configurable alarms?
I'd like to get vibration & alarm, not one or the other....

What don't you like about the standard app? You can change the alarm tone and volume at your will- but for all alarms not per alarm
i would love a 3' prty alarm
anyone?

I'd like to have BOTH, so having a decent ring tone and vibration too. I had this on several other phones and been accustomed to it.

I'm using the MTUX AlarmX app on my dual (commercial). I really enjoy it, but functionally is limited.
On my Smartphone I've been using CityTime Alarms.. Also a Nice app.
I used the demo version all the time.. once the alarms are set (in trail periode) you still can use it.. adding new or changing alarms is not possible after the trail periode. So create several different alarms and you'll enjoy it.
I downloaded the PocketPC version right now.. Gonna try it on my dual.
Good luck
pTravelAlarm is what you need.
Can set up to 10 alarms, and also set the volume and have your favourite songs wake you up.
Don't get enAlarm - it's crap - doesn't wake up half the time - DOH!

[Q] charger plug/unplug sound

Is it possible to have sounds when i plug in my charger and when i unplug it? are there apps that can do this? i found battery doctor that gives me sounds whenever i plug it in but no option for sounds when unplugging, are there any other apps that can do this?
You could use an automation app like llama or Tasker to trigger a sound or vibration when the phone is unplugged.

Recent CyanogenMod builds have this feature in Settings > Sound, but you can't choose different sounds for plug/unplug.

Registry setting for alarm notification volume

I've got a dell venue 8 pro and am trying to use its alarm app.
Unfortunately, for some strange reason, when the alarm goes off, the volume of the alarm is very low. I have gone through all the sound settings and volume is maximized for them all. When i play the alarm sound separately, it is loud enough, but whenever the alarm goes off, it is very low.
Anyone have any idea on how to go about fixing it?

Yes. The alarm behavior is same for all alarm apps. A system alarm notification toast is displayed with a system sound looping. The loop lasts for 5 minutes only.
