and I followed exactly the steps, particularly those relating to post # 665 of "Andr3s dated 19th December 2013, 04:38 AM AM | # 665"
and it does not work the shift from "4. Launch App S4 Unlock, press button, the phone restart"

Did you downgrade the modem to MDC or MDL before trying that step?

Just did sim unlock for international use with ng2 modem
it worked.
followed the method mentioned by OP and upgraded modem back to ng2.
i upgraded modem incrementally
NG2 -> MDC and then sim unlock
then
MDC -> MDL -> MF9 -> MJA -> MK2 -> NAE -> NG2
i lost my wifi after upgrading from MDC to MDL and did not get it back until went all the way back to NG2. the moment i installed NG2, my wifi was back
thank you to OP. saved tons of money

After Sim unlock I went from MDC to nG2 without losing WiFi

Thanks for the guide it really worked for me. I've got the international and domestic unlock. The only problem is I'm using an AOSP ROM, so whenever I restart the phone it doesn't connect to data because it goes back to lte, is there anything I can do so I don't have to go to hidden settings to select WCDMA only every time I restart the phone? Like a build prop setting or a script? Thanks in advance.

My S4 came with NAE rom and I followed this post to downgrade the modem to MDC. Now I want to root the phone and unlock WiFi tethering. After searching so many in the Internet talking about rooting and unlocking WiFi tethering using different rom like NAE, MK2 etc. I somehow question myself which rom my phone is using now. In the 'About device', it shows Software version is L720VPUAMDC but the Android version is 4.4.2. (I know Android version for MDC rom is 4.3). Would someone able to tell me which rom my phone is on now? either NAE or MDC. What about bootloader? I am totally confused.
Thanks for helping!!!

@alanwatt if you have the NAE rom with the MDC modem, you would have Wi-Fi and sound problems, that's one way to tell. Is that your case?

Hey guys I installed the unlock program/application on 2 different pcs running windows xp, and whenever I try to run it an error pops up saying (null) is not a valid win32 application or s3flasher.exe is not a valid win32 application. Any idea what's wrong?
Thanks in advance

The version number you provided SPH-L720T the T at the end tells you your phone is tri band, so can't be unlocked with this method, and most likely never, since it's Sprint spark technology, but who knows? there are smart people out there.

Hi I have a note 3 N9005 with t-mobile. It does not get LTE even though LTE is checked in the settings. Does anyone have the same issue?

Are you in an LTE area?
Currently only 4 cities have T-Mobile/Vodafone LTE, I don't even have an LTE option

T-Mobile only has LTE in specific areas. Even though it is selected in the network mode, if your area is not LTE ready then it will revert to the best possible speed for your area. I am with Telus and have LTE enabled on my device but it shows 4G in my home as I'm in a fringe area. When I leave my home and travel about 100 meters, I have LTE and it will display the icon.
It was my understanding that T-Mobile disabled the LTE band on their device. If you rooted, it's possible you enabled the LTE band partially in that it's shown but even though selected, the regional settings have not been updated to reflect the ROM you installed for LTE capability.
Have you rooted your device?

OK, if your device is rooted, have you installed the T-Mobile ROM onto the device? Have you confirmed this ROM installs an LTE capable modem? If so, follow step 6 at the bottom of my thread to ensure you've enabled the regional carrier settings thus essentially turning on the LTE modem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2489766.
If you do not have a ROM installed with an LTE capable modem, flash a compatible ROM and follow step 6 and you should have LTE capability.
Hope this helps!
I'm only getting H+ aswell and on my old phone with the same sim card and plan I had LTE!

Like mentioned, T-Mobile just recently rolled out LTE in specific areas. The problem here is not the network but the phones capability of communicating with the network. My device is from WIND Mobile (Canada). This company only supports 4G data. The phone is LTE capable but the modem has been crippled. I rooted my phone and installed the Telus ROM (which inadvertently installs the LTE modem). Once installed, LTE is no longer crippled and once I entered the correct APN settings for LTE, I had access under my network options to select: LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect). Problem was when doing this, I would still only get 3G. The phone was displaying the capability but it had to be enabled by modifying the regional settings and selecting the provider ROM. At this point, everything was functional and LTE capable.
Hope this helps!
I can't install any firmware other than the n9005 model ones. I tried installing the T-Mobile ROM but it gave me an error.

Like I've suggested to others, please follow the documentation from start to finish in the following link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2489766. With regards to ROOTING in the first set of instructions, replace the downloadable file with that which corresponds to your model. With the second set of instructions, when downloading TWRP, from the linked site, go back one directory and download the hltetmo version of TWRP. When you get to the third stage of instructions, download the file which represents T-Mobile's version of the ROM.
This should work for you but if not, let me know and I can assist where possible. Another individual had a similar issue who was PM'ing me and with a bit of time and troubleshooting, they're now up and running.
Hope this helps!

Just as an FYI, both your threads relate to the same question regarding a ROM for increased device productivity. You also posted similar information in another thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2491711
Please try to limit posts regarding the same issue and post all concerns within a single thread. Please follow the instructions as outlined in my link. This should hopefully fix all your issues and if you have trouble along the way, please post in this thread and I'll respond and help where I can. Thanks!

Well, in my 3rd step, I've listed ROMS for the SM-N900W8 model and you required ROMS for the International 9005 model. I would first load into TWRP by powering off your device and then once powered off, power on again using: Volume Up + Home Button + Power Button (all at once). When you see the Note 3 logo, let go and you will be in TWRP. Ensure you do a full wipe/format through TWRP and now you will be ready to install another fresh ROM rather than overwriting an existing ROM which can cause problems within itself. Once at this state, download an appropriate ROM from this link:
http://www.samsungis.com/Firmwares/SM-N9005-Galaxy-Note3-Snapdragon.html
The ROM I would go with is:
Galaxy Note 3 (Snapdragon) SM-N9005 TPLPoland (t-mobile) N9005XXUBMI7 4.3 11.09.2013 1628120 Download
This one I think has LTE but if not, you're safe with downloading any one of these variants. If the above does not enable LTE, you must research the carrier to ensure they have LTE. Please ensure you follow the last steps of the instructions to enter into the regional carrier settings and select the 3 digit code for the carrier ROM you installed.
Hope this helps!

FYI....
Here is a list of carriers world-wide who support LTE and the frequency they support:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks
If the ROM I suggested does not support LTE, this is what I would recommend:
Look at the different carriers provided in the original link I gave you for 9005 ROMS. Match one of these to this link showing supported LTE carriers. Make sure the frequency of this LTE carrier is supported by your phone then download the ROM. Once the ROM is installed, go to your regional carrier settings as I've listed in my rooting instructions and change the 3 letter code to match the ROM you just installed. Once the device resets and reboots, you should have the capabilities your device originally crippled.
Hope this helps!

This is what I have gathered from you Baseband...
The model of device you have is a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (International - Snapdragon). It was manufactured October 2013 and was the second batch or build released for public purchase. The Countries/regions your phone recognizes are as follows:
Austria
Belgium
France
Germany
Hungary
Italy
Nordic
Spain
United Kingdom
This means that you must install an International ROM supported by one of these Countries for the device to successfully load it and boot up. You currently have the device unlocked and are using T-Mobile. This does not mean you must have the T-Mobile ROM loaded on the device to enable features which have been crippled. All you must do is research 3 letter CSC code for the ROM you download and ensure that carrier supports the features which are currently being crippled at the moment with T-Mobile. Once the ROM has been downloaded and installed through ODIN, as previously stated, enter the CSC menu on your device and select the 3 letter code which represents the ROM you just downloaded. The link to obtain a ROM (as previously provided) is:
http://www.samsungis.com/Firmwares/SM-N9005-Galaxy-Note3-Snapdragon.html
Please make sure the ROM you download supports all the features you wish to enable and that it also supports one of the locations listed above. At this point, a ROM should successfully load and you should be operational.
Hope this helps!

Hey, I am having exactly the same issue. In my case I am in New Zealand, have a SIM from Telecom New Zealand for 4G. My S4 GT-9505 was purchased locally however is parallel imported, it is running a Swisscom branded version of 4.3.
In the "network mode" screen it doesn't show LTE option, only wcdma/gsm, wcdma only, gsm only. I have read that you might need a ROM for your specific country for the LTE option to be available? seems stupid given mobiles are intended to roam?
Any suggestions on how I should resolve?
Cheers

You could just use Odin and flash a 4.2 or 4.3 ROM, say from your country or from France for example and you will have 4G, my problem is different I have 4G on stock but loose it on a custom ROM such as cm10.2, hope this helps
Guys,
I think the issue lies within CM 10.2 because I read from several other users and on the device page, that it could be that you loose mobile data connection when flashing cm 10.2.
Can you try flash other custom rom (like AOKP or GP edition) and the see if you have LTE coverage? You have to try to isolate this issue with this procedure.

[Q] Note 3 N9005 Not registered on the network! This is weird! Please help :)

Dear All,
Trust this finds you well
I have this very unusual problem. I have a Galaxy Note 3 N9005 and I live in Denmark. I havent have any problem with the network what so ever. 4 Days ago, I suddenly realized that I cant make any calls and I get "Not registered on the network". Although I can not make/receive calls, the data seems to be working (3g). I tried other sim cards on the phone and they work perfectly. My sim card also works with any other phone!! I did everything I could find on forums (from flashing new roms to....). I went to Telia store ( Telia is the company I get the network), they tried to reset my number and my sim card, tried new sim cards... but it just doesnt work!! They told me that they havent seen anything like this before. Looks like my phone is blocked on Telia Network!! No Telia sim cards works on my phone but others do!
I have tried new modems, firmwares and etc. The phone is unlocked. Right now I have flashed X-note but its still the same. No matter what Rom (custom or stock) I use, it just doesnt work. Can anyone please help me?? Much appreciated!
Hello, i got exactly the same problem here, i was thinking that the problem was about region lock but in fact it's not.
I tried everything like you, flashing modem, stock rom, custom rom... everything i found on the web and nothing worked for me.... I bought the SM-n9005 1 month ago in france, and now i live in new caledonia, i was able to make call for about 2 weeks without any problem and suddenly, impossible to connect the network. Samsung gived me the region unlock code but didn't make my network work again.
I'm so disapointed. My imei and baseband are correct.
bootlader : N9005XXUGNG1
baseband : N9005XXUGNG1
PDA : N9005DXUGNH1
CRC : N9005ITVGNG1 (audax rom)
Please someone help us !
Hello @yashironc
The interesting thing is that my phone is also from France! I have been using the phone for 6 months and no problem at all! The problem suddenly appeared few days ago. I'm actually considering to change my network provider as it appears to be working on any other one! Hope it will not be the same after some time...
please someone help us

Try this.. It worked for me for my note 2...
Hi I faced the same kind of issue with my note 2 and I found some solution.
1. Download the previous version of firmware from sammobile. ( Eg: If the current version is 4.4.2 you have to download 4.3).
2. Flash the firmware using Odin.
3. After flashing the firmware now update the firmware to current one using Samsung kies.
4. After the updation when the phone reboots your issue may get resolved.
It worked for me. Just try doing that......

Thanks Rafi. I tried this but it didnt work out because when I connect to Kies, it says that I'm using the latest firmware which is strange! Looks like in Denmark, the updates are a bit late. I will try to change my IMEI number, hope it works...

Yes, may be your phone has been blacked list by Telia network. Ask your Telia network to be sure?
But curiously, how can you change the IMEI?
same problem here after afligt
Hi, i don't know if changing Imei will fix the problem because my carrier don't blacklist phone and I have the same problem here :/ I got now a phone who can't make call. Damn Samsung 700 € for that ?

Thanks vndnguyen for your reply. I asked them several times but seems like they havent blocked my phone!! They were in shock like me I finally decided to change my network provider as it was the cheapest and easiest solution. I think if the IMEI number is blocked, I should not be able to receive signal from other providers as well, cause that doesnt make sense in terms of security. Hopefully someone could find the answer to this unusual problem and save some lives Cheers!

Nope, if your imei was blocked, you still can receive signal from your home network, but you can not make a calls.

There is a difference between the two IMEI blacklists.
One is Provider-based. Meaning your provider can block your IMEI on their network alone. Other providers work without issue. They used to do this here for a long time if you used a different device than the phone you purchased from them. It still happens in some countries if the device is from another country or sometimes when it runs a customROM.
Providers are also very good at denying this.
The other is the international blacklist. This one renders a phone completely useless worldwide, and is usually reserved for stolen devices.

it's an American carrier version of the international model for AT&T ...so no, definitely NOT an I9500

and just now I looked more closely and saw your problem. if you can take it back and get your money back I would.
Does the imei in the phone match the imei on the label under battery ?
I guess it's a refurbished phone that has been repaired with mixed parts. Go into download mode and post the model from there.
is it even possible to flash partitions from different models firmware onto one phone ?
It apparently is, as I've seen many posts regarding phones with identity issues.

or but tell meif its I337 or I9500
the true identity of your phone should be whatever device it says when you enter download mode. or whatever bootloader version you have because it shouldn't let you flash an incorrect bootloader.

Samsung s5 update problem

Hi,
New to the Forum but hoping that someone can help me. I apologize if there is already a thread regarding this issue.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active which I purchased off Amazon Unlocked. It is an At&t phone but I am using it in Canada on the Bell Network. I have been unable to get any updates and therefore am still running Kitcat 4.4.2.
I have downloaded the Bell Firmware but Keep Getting the Error Message "Secure Check Fail Aboot" Immediately after each attempt.
I have not been able to find an updated At&t firmware to load and as far as I can tell the Bell Marshmallow Update won't work because My Build version is G870AUCU1A..... Where as the Bell Build Version is G870WVLU1C.......
Is there a way to install this Bell Firmware on my phone ?
AT&T has only released one firmware and the rest of the updates have been ota secure check fail means you are trying to flash the wrong firmware so no it can't be flashed in odin

You would have to flash g870a AT&T firmwares if you can find one

I feared that might be the case I have a lot of hoping that someone had downloaded the OTA however I have been unable to find an AT&T update I am not far from the border if I went to cross into the US would I be able to get the OTA update or would I need an AT&T SIM card as well
This page may be helpful especially look at Samsung kies method
