Safestrap Not Showing New Rom From Stock - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hi all,
I messed up my phone last time and had to get a new one from insurance because it erased my IMEI and I couldnt connect to network and wifi. However, from stock 4.4.2 ATT, I rooted with towelroot and then I installed safestrap and loaded a new rom to rom slot 1 without deleting the stock rom slot. However, when i try to boot on the new rom, it basically just shows me stock rom minus the IMEI (this problem is appearing again) instead of the chaos rom that I wanted to install in that slot.
Please assist, thank you!

You can't use rom slots. You have to flash to the stock slot.

[Q] S4 GT-I9505 LTE - Problem With Odin

Ok so i bought my new 16gb s4 yesterday after breaking the screen on my first a while back, after already rooting my first i jumped straight ahead and went to root the new one, once connected in odin i flashed the cwm recovery 6.0.3.2-4 before rooting but flashed it via phone instead of pda, now when the device boots up it wont accept any micro-sim tried one from both giffgaff (o2) and virgin both factory cut. It will not pick up on them no matter what i do, ive reflashed stock roms and now flashed foxhound 1.6 rom. Have i killed the sim reader on this phone and is there anything that can be done to fix it or should i just send it away on warranty?

[Q] [SM-N910F][SOLVED] SIM removed error

After trying to install few custom ROMS namely DR. Ketans and SimplRom I experience SIM removed error problem.
The flashing goes fine with full factory reset (only internal SD is not wiped), I enter the PIN when I'm asked for it. The SIM is unlock but when the phone registers on the network it gives SIM removed error and forces a reboot.
I also upgraded the bootloader and the modem to the latest versions BL_N910FXXU1BOD2 and CP_N910FXXU1BOC4 but the problem remains the same.
When I restore back to the original ROM (backed up by TWRP) everything works fine. If dirty flash custom ROM over it again there are no problems with the SIM card.
The only conclusion is that T-Mobile has some additional software installed.
The phone is SM-N910F bought from T-Mobile. It has T-Mobile branding on boot and shutdown.
Does anyone now anything about this ?
To update it with my own research.
Apparently the SIM card is lock to Macedonia region. MBM CSC. When installing custom ROM the CSC gets changed and the phone rejects the SIM.
In an effort to resolve this I've flashed DE DBT CSC ROM and the phone won't accept my SIM card.
Currently I'm downloading the original T-Mobile MKD firmware and I hope by restoring it that I will be able to use the phone again.
Also since I paid for the phone in full I intend to contact T-Mobile tomorrow and ask them to unlock my phone.
Will write what comes out of this. Don't want someone else to lose their nerves as I did today
Definitely the issue was in wrong CSC. I've downloaded the original firmware and everything worked again.
But I couldn't stay put and wanted to flash a custom ROM so I went with http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-bob4-devbase-multi-csc-safe-bloat-t3033881.
It's a great base ROM stripped of Knox and de-bloated. Most importantly it keeps your current CSC intact.
The procedure was:
Flash original firmware with Odin,
Root with CF-Auto root
Flash TWRP recovery with Odin
Reset data so that it completely goes stock because flashing the original firmware doesn't reset data
At this point I made full nandroid backup
Flash ALEXAND ROM
Uninstall additional bloatware
So far it's working fine.
I hope that this will help someone.

Emergency calls only stock 4.4.2 ROM

I need some help on my Grand 2. The other day, I had flashed a view ROM's from the Original Development section, and succeed in getting them to work. After a while (my bad for not noticing earlier), I saw that my card seems like it wasn't registered to network (Emergency calls only). Assuming that I did something wrong, I flashed latest 4.4.2 stock using Odin, and noticed that on stock, only Sim 1 is working. After trying out a few stock 4.4.2, and some other ROM, now both sim cards aren't working.
I checked IMEI, and both IMEI are still readable, so I don't think it's EFS issue. And I have also tried to flash modem.bin but it still isn't working. Using Odin to repartition and flash stock also doesn't work.
Does someone here have some experience on this and could point me to the right direction?

No Service after flashing reserection remix 7.1.1

I have a verizon galaxy note 3 smn900v. I finally was able to flash reserection remix with TWRP, but now I have no service. I've tried everything, I even went to the verizon store and they gave me a new sim card. How do I get service. Sometimes the phone will flash and say select sim card and I select it but nothing happens. How do I fix this. Should flash a different rom? any suggestions?
Update
I tried flashing an old cyanogen mod, and even the stock firmware and still no reception. Any help would be appreciated
Take it back to full stock

9505 Network lock but it's factory-free

Good evening friends, I have a question about a problem that I have not been able to solve. My S4 version 9505 is free from factory and so it has been for 10 months (I bought it used and that's what they told me) and suddenly in a normal restart it gave me a screen before the launcher that says Unblock or continue ... after that It says that I have a simcard with network blocking. Use Lineage 14.1 and go back to lollipop 5.0.1 stock to see if that solved it but it was not like that. I have imei intact but it is blocked by network.
i would be grateful to who can help me
Thank you
You can try to unlock it by flashing a 4.2.2 mode, root, run regionlockaway, flash stock 5.01 ROM, and see if the phone is network unlocked.
You will not be able to use the menu option listed in this thread but there are some helpful posts: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2282683

Hello
Your phone is not locked, the SIM card is. Have you set up a pin for the SIM card and forgotten?.....Try another SIM card in the phone to check.
The message that appears on the original post is the same screen I received with my locked sgh-i337m before I unlocked it using regionlockaway.

Try this: root the phone, install and run regionlockaway, restore the latest stock ROM using Odin, test the phone.

I did it exactly like that, but it did not work
Not sure why it didn't work since other XDA members have had success with the method I outlined.

imei null when flashing modem I9505_XXUAME2_MODEM.tar
I had to flash a stock ROM again and the imei was recovered, but I still have network blocking
The IMEI goes null because you are flashing a 4.2.2 modem onto a phone with a 5.01 bootloader and flashing the latest modem will restore the imei.
If you followed the steps I outlined and the phone is still network locked, you will need to buy and unlock code.
I'm sorry I had not been able to answer for days.
I could unlock the phone as follows: Install via ODIN I9505XXSHQB1_I9505OLBHOH1_I9505XXSHQB1_HOME.tar then install the modem: I9505DVUAMD8_MODEM.tar, then root, and use Galaxy Unlock app.
I thank all those who helped me here and took the trouble to answer my post.
