Hi Guys, I'm new to the Samsung Family. I've got a Samsung Note 3 SM-N900S model which I think you cannot turn off the camera shutter sound by default. My phone is currently rooted now and running stock based kitkat. I've added the Csc Feature of shutter sound menu into my camera app, however when I want to turn off from the menu, it doesn't allow me to turn it off. If anyone can help me on this? Cheers
Go to /system/media/audio/ui and delete all ogg files starting with cam and autofocus (if you don't want autofocus confirmation) and shutter.ogg As always, make a backup if you deem necessary as I have not tried that before

hi, i was wondering how to mute the camera shutter sound. I tried using Xposed frame work with Wanam to disable it but the focus and shutter sound still goes off. I used Root Explorer to rename the the camera_focus.ogg and Shutter.ogg files in system/media/audi/ui, rebooted and the sounds still go off. even deleted those files but the camera is still there.
Where else are these sound files located?
Does anybody know of a way to switch off the camera shutter sound? It's really loud. I have the N910F / Vodafone / The Netherlands. There's no option in the camera settings. Mute the phone doesn't do the trick, and the Enforced Stream Silencer can't get it done either In Camera FV-5 it's possible but I'd like to use the options of the Samsung app.

This is always an issue with phones, as it's in part due to privacy laws that the option to turn off the sound is missing. Usually someone comes along with a MOD but I tend to root my phones so I all I do is delete or rename the sound files found in /system/media/audio/ui

Activate the SILENT MODE profile then you can take pictures without sound.

Thanks. I think I've used the wrong term. With 'Mute' I meant I set all the different volume controls to zero. Then it's in the Silent Mode, right?
T-Mobile version has a toggle in the camera app to turn off the shutter sound. On my device it was toggled off by default.

Yes I tried that but it doesn't work. A regional thing probably as apprentice mentioned. But I was hoping someone here would know a workaround

work my N910U
<CscFeature_Email_UseFixedSmtpPortAs>25</CscFeature_Email_UseFixedSmtpPortAs>
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>TRUE</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
<CscFeature_Camera_CameraFlicker>50hz</CscFeature_Camera_CameraFlicker>

GalaxyTools app or download Note2 Hidden Menu App or if your rooted like the other person said edit csc features to true and reboot.
So i had my G2 for a while now, everything is great but there is one thing that bothering me alot: when i take a picture (with stock camera app) or third-party app it make annoying shutter sound There is no option to turn it off My G2 is rooted, so please someone help me turn it off, is really really piss me off
*Sorry for my English i'm not a native speaker *
there is several things you can do:
delete the shutter sound ogg file from system/media folder
or
install g2 tweaksbox - i think it has the option to disable the shutter sound
My device 910C never have in camera app to disable shutter sound since 4.4
But after rooted, I can go into System/media/ui > then delete those shutter to make it sound gone
But after 5.0.1 I do the same but the camera sound still there, so wired, even I deleted the whole "ui" folder, camera app still make shutter sound
Any help?
"disable stream_system enforced" though, but is also disable some other UI sound also, not just camera

there is a really simple mod for that.
just look at this link and you can enable the shutter sound menu
Is there a way to disable the camera shutter sound?
I understand that you can do it in the notification settings - but it doesnt actually do it.
Is this a regional thing? because phones that are bought in Japan cannot be disabled however I bought it in Singapore .
Go to camera, open hamburger menu on the left, open settings on the right top, turn off shutter sound.... Voila

Yeah, it's a regional thing. OnePlus has put a toggle in the app, but in regions where it is not permitted to mute camera sounds, the toggle won't actually do anything. To work around this, I manually decompiled the OnePlus Camera app, muted the necessary sounds, and recompiled the app for my personal use. The sounds are muted by default (except the timer ones) and you can't enable them via the toggle also.
I'm attaching my modified version at the end of this post, if you want to give it a shot. Good luck!
Important info: You won't be able to install this alongside your existing OnePlus Camera app. So you'll need root for this. Also, in case you still hear sounds even after correctly replacing the original OnePlus Camera app, let me know.
