Phone looks nice and feels great on my hand. I didn't activate the phone, and I'm just using Wi-Fi to go online. Very solid, and snappy. Hopefully someone can unlock it and I could use it on AT&T.

Wow! I was thinking of picking this up at Best Buy today, too. But I'm wondering, do they have the black version available at BB? The press release said so but Best Buy's website is only showing the white. I'm head over heels for this phone but if I can, I'd rather it in black. Any initial thoughts on the device?
Thanks!
I did not see the black one, and actually didn't know that there is a black version.
I also didn't know that, but we had the same idea just to use it as a wifi model lol ..I appreciate innovation.. I just bought a case off ebay though
Boost Mobile gets white
Virgin Mobile gets black.
I'm on Virgin looking to get the phone later this year but I kinda wanted it in White... not 100% sure though

Not too sure if using it on AT&T is going to be possible. The Sharp website only shows CDMA network bands..

Unless you meant the "Coming Soon", here are the links for it.
Boost:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/boost-m...hite/7278039.p?id=1219262037407&skuId=7278039
(Still says Coming Soon for some reason)
Sprint:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sprint-...kuId=8776196&st=sharp aquos crystal&cp=1&lp=2
Virgin Mobile:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/virgin-...hite/7278011.p?id=1219262036901&skuId=7278011
(Removed)
And the Boost/Sprint ones won't work on GSM (AT&T / T-Mo). They're CDMA only.
Sprint is going to have one on a post-pay plan, but it's going to cost $240 ($10 a month for 24 months on Easy Pay, or $239.99 to buy it up-front). You can't use the Prepaid ones on Sprint Post-Pay plans.
Just a note to everyone: Even though the Sprint Pre-paid version on Best Buy is listed as white, the back of the phone is actually black! I went in last night and picked on up. Loving it so far if you have any questions or want any pictures I'd be happy to do so.

Sorry.... I doubt you'll ever be able to use with AT&T or Tmobile because of different radios. I wish it were true because I have Tmobile and have found it to be THE BEST of all major carriers (at least in the Las Vegas NV valley). When my BoostMobile Aquos Crystal arrives on 10/17/2014, I plan to do comparison with my Note 3 and decide which phone to keep for the next year. Shap attracted me due to costing less than 1/4 of Note price, $35/month plan vs. over $50 for Tmo and the Sharp is simply the best looking touch screen phone I've ever seen (to date) that we can purchase now.

P.S. In past 8 years I've owned/used: Original iPhone, Nexus, Galaxy S3, S4, Note 3 and more Acer, Asus & Samsung tablets that I can remember! Rooted every one of them!

If you read the other thread on bootloader.. etc., the guy with the video was wrong. He put in a T-Mobile SIM but was still using Boost 2g/3g data. Someone in that thread also tried themselves and were unable to get service with an At&T SIM. Those that are stating this phone is CDMA only are correct. You'll have to buy the international version to get GSM.

Your best bets to just getting one of those body protection screens, like a screen protector for your whole phone, brushed alluminiam looks cool, also have black carbon fiber one
---------- Post added at 06:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:56 PM ----------
Also , its a nice phone, going from the tiny HTC one sv to this it took sum getting used to just because the size. But it doesn't feel too big do the screen taking up majority of the front, makes me wish they released the X over here, has a 5.5" screen and a thinner bar at the bottom of the front.

I suspect that it will be the 9020A that is currently being shipped in Canada.
@Skillz1318: Probably not. It's been my experience that warranties don't carry across the border, even if it's the same product. I'm suspecting that the IMEI's will be registered to a specific country and will only be serviced inside of that country.
Any idea att version work on att media net plan? I will be willing to upgrade to smartphone plan if i getting better speed. I know the phone is only hsdpa. maybe it will get better speed then my n1.

I'm due for an upgrade on July 26th for AT&T, should I jump on this or wait out for the Galaxy S II, I'm leaving for college mid August, and I'd like a new phone before then. I feel that I'd appreciate a 4" screen more than a 4.3", also this phone seems to be more proven than the Galaxy S II (I've learned my lesson from early adoption). The real question is, does the dual core matter for everyday use. I won't play very many games on it, mainly just browsing, gapps, phone use, etc?
I hope it's <$450 off contract :\
Why hasn't this been released months ago?!
It would really be great if the radio was uncapped and the gps performance would work better with the new att version.
I left att for sprint like a week ago.

In the same boat as you, friend ... although I'm just a 31 yo tech junkie and have been waiting for months to see a phone worthy if replacing my minuscule AT&T Aria which anything would be better.
I read that only Bestbuy and maybe Costco (the Atrix replacement memo) would be selling on Sunday but in 30 days when gs2 finally launches would it be possible to return the nexus s for the s2 and still get the subsidized price (assuming the Attain is sold there).

Anyone get the AT&T version yet? Looking forward to seeing what radio it's using.
I just picked one up today! Baseband is I9020AUCKE1.
I just picked one up, I was tired of my Nexus One's touchscreen issues.
The radio is baseband I9020AUCKE1.
It's pretty slow on the speedtest.net app. Around 2Mbps down and 500k up.
Even worse today.

how is your GPS performance? I have an unlocked 9020a and the GPS is terrible on it.
Works fine if you are walking outside, but if you're in a moving car, it struggles to keep a lock.
As for your speed, I'm getting similar (sometimes higher) speeds on the download side but about triple on the upload side. The radio may be capped for uploads.
Also, i'm on the KB3 radio from the radio thread in the dev forum.
Any way we can get this radio dumped?

I've started noticing a pattern to the search button problem. For me it rarely happens. I noticed it happening on 2 different occasions when I was in a transitional area that had little to no signal. Someone on here had mentioned that it had to do with the radio that was flashed and when I had the original radio that came with the device (for the first day I had it) it was going crazy all the time.
Once I flashed to KB3, it all but went away except for the 2 occasions that I mentioned above.
I'm interested to see what (if any?) changes were made with the AUCKE1 radio. I wonder how long it will be before someone dumps it.

they need to get their heads out of their asses and start supporting products period. you don't see hard drive manufacturers asking which country your hard drive is in. you send it in for RMA. same with any computer component.
phone manufacturers make this seem like the stone age. if you made my datacenter customers work this hard to return hard drives i think they'd dump you in a heartbeat Samsung.

My guess would be 599.99 off contract. For that kind of dough, you'd be better off doing an early termination, paying that and getting an new line with an on contract phone.
Not sure about the insurance though. Asurion is a seperate company they insure phones from all carriers.
No I think 4.5 inch is sweet, id like to see a 5 inch!
This is just my opinion here, but if your a year off from getting an upgrade I would wait. The epic 4g is going to be just fine for a long while yet. I've played with a freinds evo 3d and an international gsII. While they're cool, overall I was not impressed. I didn't see a signifigant increase in performance over this the epic 4g, and in some cases it seemed worse. I wuld wait for the 2nd gen of dual core phones or even until quad core....but that's just my 2cents. Good luck in whatever you decide, I'm sure it'll be an awsome phone.
From cellblock D
I plan on doing this at 14 months so I don't have to wait a full two years to get the promo price. While it cost 75$, the phone price will go from full price to the 199$. Still saving a few hundo.

i was trying to figure out the best options for upgrade as well. I have the best buy insurance so maybe my epic will take a tumble and then i can sell a brand new epic online and use that cash to buy a SGS2. However I was a little disappointed in the video i saw on engadget. They showed an epic touch next to the original SGS on att, they appeared to be the same thickness. Wasn't the big thing suppose to be the incredible thinness of the phone? hmmm

Love that movie!
When I just talked to Sprint this week, everyone said contract buyouts have been completely removed from their systems. So no regular rep can do that even if they wanted to.
Just a heads up.
You can definitely buy your phone off contract.
Itsjust not as easy as GSM where all yu do is connect your sim card and you're good to go
You have to call sprint after you buy it and get it activated with all the codes on the sticker and then it'll be tied to your account.
It also doesn't effect upgrade eligibility. So if you buy off contract and you're due for an upgrade, you can upgrade, keep the new phone in the box and just use your gsii as your main and sell the upgrade boxsealed to recoup a few hunneds

I'm here in the US using an AT&T sim. I am so sick of the terrible carriers putting their little fingers and logos into all these devices.
My least favorite of these new things is the carrier logo in the top left of the notification shade.
This is a gross mis-use of the notification bar and AT&T and Verizon and the rest need to knock it off.
I'm happy (really really really happy) to report that the N7100 does NOT do this. Love it!

For me LTE is huge as AT&T is extremely fast around here. Faster than my Fios connection. That plus I'm due for an upgrade so I'll pay the greatly reduced price for the device.
I dunno about you... but that's not true on my HTC Sensation... also it might be from the manufacturer (at least you know who's network you are on if you're roaming).
I don't think I've ever seen that... Then again, I don't usually buy Samsung phones
I really really despise carrier branding..... Are US carriers the only ones that do this?
I'm just not sure what I should do? I've always had TMO and Sprint, but lately they've been horribly slow.
So I'm also curious, IS LTE/4G the only positive for the US Note II?
LTE is nice but if it's going to make the note battery act like the battery on my gnex then I'd be willing to go without

I wonder if threads like the OPs are just people trying to make themselves feel better for dropping $700 on a phone that can be had in 9 days for $299 (or less).
I mean, I have ATT and am ready to drop the cash on an international version, but I just can't seem to do it. I use Netflix a lot (don't worry, I pay a healthy amont for data) and it sucks mostly on my GSM GNEX. Stuttering and buffering. I just want a fast connection, and the LTE note is worth waiting 9 days on, IMO...
The 2500mAh battery on the AT&T LTE Note lasts all day.
The 3100mAh will be better. Food for thought.

But you still need service of some kind, which isn't free. I pay $48/month for seemingly unlimited rollover minutes (like 3000+) and 5gig of tethering data (200 texts) and free M2M on ATT. I have a company discount.
I know many readers are't in the US and don't have an add a line, but it's very cheap for me to keep ATT, contract or not. The monthly fee is higher every where else for me.
I mean I get the "well you are paying $2,000 for that phone!" arguments, but really you need to add in the cost of any service unless you are using it 100% on wifi (which nobody does). Add that in with a full non-contract price phone and then post.

Well, I'm on T-Mobile's Value plan which is a 2 year plan w/o any subsidies but you save enough for 1.5 phones... although your plan sounds pretty decent... either it's grandfathered or you've got some sick company discount, but in either case, the phone wouldn't be $300 for you... that would require a 2 year commitment (not sure how they handle grandfathered plans)

well... considering the only carrier branding is on the back cover... if you buy a replacement battery door, you'll have a note 2 that looks like the international one...

Well, do you think they'll be interchangeable? Weren't the back covers different between the AT&T and International ones different? (Looked the same but weren't interchangeable)

Yep, the only reason. I can understand why it's a great thing for people to use LTE, but personally I have wifi everywhere I go and I barely use my monthly data. Even though in some cases LTE can be faster than wifi, wifi is plenty fast for anything you wanna do. So I prefer the international version for development support. But the development for the LTE versions shouldn't be too bad either since they're using the same SoC.
For me HSPA+ is plenty......haven't been on a contract in 4 years. Straight Talk service is LEGIT everywhere i go.....so besides getting the phone early, that is the reason i buy unlocked. Could really care less about carrier branding.

Which phone are you talking about? I think the Note II should be safe as the only thing they added between the models was just a different LTE chip (or not even if it was just a matter of flashing a new radio). I mean everything's pretty much the same in terms of specs so they didn't do any radical re-engineering, also the flip covers also replace the back cover, so if you get one of those that should remove the branding (at least on the T-Mo and AT&T ones, who knows what the Verizon one will look like). Just don't buy a fake as the NFC chip is in the back.
If anyone is looking for a Galaxy Note 2 this is the LOWEST price I have ever seen it from a reputable dealer.... :good: Must add coupon code (BLKNVMW57) and expires on November 5th... Also it includes an extended return/exchange policy and price match policy for the Holidays...
White (coupon BLKNVMW57): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16875176415
Gray (coupon BLKNVMW56): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16875176414
Is a GREAT price! But the 'extended return' policy does not apply to there unlocked phones. I emailed them and they said they were going to change that on the site. 15 day unopened to return for a refund still applies.
Thanks, shojus! I just ordered mine, with free 2-Day shipping from Shoprunner. Can't wait!

On-contract, AT&T will probably get you the best speed. Off-contract? Probably StraightTalk. Look into T-Mobile and see if they have refarmed your area for the 1900MHz frequency (try airportal.de). It's likely though that they haven't, making StraightTalk your best bet for HSPA+ speed off-contract. Check the provider forums and coverage maps for your area.
According to the new egg listing for those note 2's they are 3g and not 4g.
Curse you Newegg, with your extensive selection of products and competitive pricing

A little dear..
N7100 From Europe or Asia-Pacific district is now ¥3500 - ¥3700 in China, (Almost $568 )
Many mobile phones or other digital products in China have lower price than Amazon, New Egg ,because they are carried from Europe or other countries of Asia,

The international Note 2 doesn't have LTE.
It's on my invoice also, the warranty that is. I contacted Newegg to confirm if the are extending the return policy on the phones. The 'confirmed' with there manager and was told that it is still a 15 day return unopened, which is there standard policy for unlocked cell phones. They would still allow for an exchange up to 1/31/13 and price match as well.
This is a 3g phone for AT&T...no LTE, which is fine with me. LTE will not be in my area for sometime, and I am always on wi-fi...
I pulled the trigger on the grey model tonight! I also promptly ordered the Samsung official hard/bumper case from the Samsung site, a screen protector and an AT&T Straight Talk micro sim.
Time to retire the Galaxy Nexus and the T-Mo prepaid. I'm honestly a little bit excited to get onto AT&T's network. Out west the T-Mo service gets a bit sketchy outside of the I-15 cooridor. Every time i'm in Montana, Wyoming and even parts of Idaho its a total crap shoot if I'll even be able to get voice roaming (usually on AT&T's network). And building penetration in my office in Salt Lake is horrible.

When you put in your apn for Straight Talk, don't put in the first port or proxy that it says to. It'll help so that you may not get throttled as aggressively or kicked off the network.
Thanks for the info. I also bought a note 2 tonight. Also straight talk att micro sim card. I was holding out for the 32gb but the $90 off pushed me over the edge.

Quick question, why would they kick you off the Straight Talk network? Is this related to the projected 2GB data cap?

Aaron unboxes the Nokia Lumia 810,
http://youtu.be/ul6_3Nm56XQ
Featuring
- 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU
- 4.3-inch OLED WVGA display with ClearBlack technology,
- 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD recording,
- 1,800 mAh battery, and
- 4G (HSPA+ 42 Mbps), the Lumia 810 is a nice addition to T-Mobile's holiday lineup. The specifications are decent and given the $99 starting price point, the price is right.
I played with one in a T-Mobile store today thanks to a cool rep. I love it! It is lighter than it looks and the screen is pretty good. It is on my short list.

Now I'm just using my one s for games.

Shame that it's priced so high compared to the 920/820 on AT&T. If I was on TMO I'd feel a little screwed.
Just got mine yesterday and love it so far. Upgraded from an HD2. $50 dollar mail-in rebate already in the mail.

Just upgraded from my HD2 today. At first I was leaning towards the 8x, but compared side by side the pure black screen is superior IMO. I love how you can't see a line between the screen and phone body. Its like the tiles are just floating there ?

I got this phone for my wife Friday & I can't put it down. I have a gs1 running jb. But I think I'm switching. Hopefully tmo has a 920 variant by the time my contract is up. Wp8 is so silky smooth. It blows everything away in my opinion.

It's Free for new customers today with a Classic plan. I'm a current T-Mo customer and was able to get three of them for free today via a call to their Loyalty department. I just said it was pretty silly that they'd offer a free phone to try and get a new customer but they'd let a longstanding current customer walk away because they wouldn't offer them the same deal. 30 seconds of "checking with her manager" and I got them free after a credit. I then tacked on a fourth line for my father-in-law via a T-Mo rep I met on slickdeals . net (he got me the phone for free AND gave me a $100 credit as well).

Is there any reason to think it wouldn't accept a 128GB card? I mean, the technology is identical between the 64 and 128 right? That said, I don't think 128GB cards are due out for at least 6-8 months, if not later.

upgraded from my HD2 (7.8 rom) to the 810 on the 14th. Nice quality phone. Runs fast and smooth.
Has anyone been successful finding any accessories for the 810? Nokia's own site only lists seven. I know this phone is new, but I was able to find plenty of accessories for my HD7 within a week of it's release.

The system might not be able to map more than 52GB of space (64+8). It depends on how the CPU is built. I bolded the "might" as I am not entirely sure this is the case.

Screen protectors and decal stickers on amazon so far. There are one or two specific hip cases, but otherwise the generic stuff. T-Mobile has a dew things but they're overpriced, of course. The 810 accessories wise is interesting so far...the 822 definitely has the full compliment of accessories available already...
