[Q] Titanium Backup - Omni Q&A

Hello.
Is it possible, to use Titanium Backup with OmniRom?
If so, how?
I couldn't backup my phone with it.

It would help if you describe how you're trying to do it and what happens. It's been working fine for me and probably many others.

Backup/Restore Question

So, my speaker phone went out on my myTouch g3 and I have a replacement on the way. If I do a nandroid backup on my phone, can I restore it to the new phone? I customized/rooted my phone and it would be nice to not have to spend a lot of time redoing everything and downloading the apps.
If the above doesnt work, would Titanium Backup backup all my apps on my current phone and restore to the new?
thanks
titanium backup will work, nandroid might, though ive never tried

[Q] Backup of accounts 2.3.4 apk needed for rooted Defy+ running stock 2.3.4

Dear all,
Rooted my phone months ago without any issues. However, I now cannot access the 'accounts' menu from my contacts list, and it appears to be an issue with "Accounts 2.3.4".
I must have uninstalled it months ago without realizing. I've used Titanium Backup to backup, but whenever I try to restore it, it just proceeds in an endless 'loop' and does not restore. I figured maybe my backup is corrupted?
Is there anyone who can provide the apk for 'Accounts 2.3.4' ? I would be eternally grateful!
Amazing forum, btw- cannot live without it!
*Bump*
Anyone have the backup lying around? pretty please?

[Q] Restoring backup

Sorry if there is a similar question with answer (I was not able to find it).
I just rooted and upgraded from stock 4.4 to 5.1 Android. I was using Go Backup (as always did, for few years now, with many phones) and never had a problem. This time, though, I tried to restore backup, but only got apps, and not DATA... I tried different 5.1 ROM, and the result was the same.
I returned to 4.4 ROM where I was able to restore apps and data without any problems. Then, I backed up everything with TItanium Backup and MyBackup, again flashed 5.1 ROM. Go Backup will, again, just restore Apps, but neither Titanium, nor MyBackup will have their Backup folders... I tried to access those via File Managers, but was not able to find them :/
I read something about changed directories for data in Lollipop, but, is there a fix for this problem?
P.S. I'm using D802, 32GB version.

Problems restoring messages from Helium

Hi guys,
I had a faulty S7 edge that needed to be returned, and I did a helium backup in order to move all my stuff. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like Helium will restore my messages.
Does anyone know of a way to do this manually without root?
Cheers!

Helium not working..

I have rooted my G4 plus and currently using Resurrection Remix. I am planning to shift my data (especially apps data) to another brand new phone which in non rooted and I am not planning to root it for some days. I have already installed titanium backup on my moto but as per my knowledge, it won't work on non rooted phone. I have tried helium but it doesn't work. App is installed on phone and as well as on desktop, phone is detected but nothing happens further on mobile app. Screen just hangs saying waiting for Desktop app to enable backup. It seems motorola phones are not supported by helium (as mentioned on helium wiki).
Guys can you please guide me on any workaround for helium or how I can restore my app data on new phone which is non rooted ? Does titanium restores data on phone even if its not rooted?
Would really appreciate your support in this matter..!
I'm sorry you'll need to root the device if you need to backup and restore data of absolutely all your apps. Titanium backup does need root. And there are apps like super backup but these backs up data only when rooted otherwise just the apps. You can backup data of your messaging apps like WhatsApp and hike through inbuilt backup process
Thank you for your response Ayan. Can you suggest any app like helium for non rooted devices. Is 'Ultimate Backup' app any good in this scenario ?
