Is your phone root? If so, you can extract the Pit file directly right on your phone.

You didn't give us enough context to discern the nature of your problem. But at a guess it's a Mac configuration issue.
In any event, you need to give us a lot more information. Or root your phone and extract your PIT file directly. Or perhaps find it in the forums here - again impossible to say as you gave us no particulars as to what S5 model you have, your carrier or anything else.

I have a Galaxy S5 Verizon 9000v model
..
I have this same problem. I can't root my s5 because I dont have windows in PC. Why? I wana use JOdin but we dont have any pit file working with it. I wana use heimdall but it doesn't work with S5. So...
Somebody find working Method of root S5 without windows OS.?
fffft said:
That still isn't nearly enough information. To start, there is no 9000v model. But assuming that you really meant a sm-g900v model. Yes details do matter there is a 9006v model as well and other very similar model numbers. And further assuming that your phone is a 16 GB, then the PIT file you need has long been posted in this forum. Look in my post history or do a search.
Cheers

Which Tab4 do you have? Tmobile? If so I have a zip file you can use to odin back to stock. I had the same thing happen to me when I tried to root. Once it gets to that point, kies doesn't seem to function. But odin still recognizes the device. I have an SM-T337T. Let me know.
Could you post the link of the rooting method site please?

Only think i've found for that firmware is a UK version. Not quite sure why there isn't a US version readily available. Anyhow, You can download it from here. The version from June might be able to be rooted using towelroot. But the May version definately can be rooted using that method. Here is the link Hope it helps.

never use the bootloader file - if its wrong you will hard brick your phone
download the firmware from my firmware thread - thats all I can suggest as it doesnt look like thats firmware iv uploaded
use rear usb ports if on pc never front ones or a hub - you can try a different cable or a pc if you continue to have problems
my firmware thread is at the top of the dev section or you can click the link in my signature to goto all my threads then select the firmware thread

PIT file is almost never needed - it just contains the partitioning information - unless you have flashed the wrong one in the past its highly unlikely you will ever need to flash it
It only maybe needed if for example you have mucked around with the partitioning or formatting & certain partitions can no longer be mounted
but i had the same problem but when i flash my sgy with pit and bootloader it fixed
I recently got a Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900T) and rooted it with Towelroot. I also wanted to remove a bunch of the bloatware that came with it, but before doing that I wanted to back it up. On my old phone, I had CWM for backups and restores, and installing it was trivial. Not so on this phone, apparently. From the tutorials I've been reading, it seems like I need Odin or Heimdall to install it. I'm using Heimdall because I have Linux. After downloading the image required for my phone model, I attempted to install it according to the directions I found. Instead, I got a bunch of errors:
Code:
Initialising connection...
Detecting device...
Claiming interface...
Attempt failed. Detaching driver...
Claiming interface again...
Setting up interface...
Initialising protocol...
Protocol initialisation successful.
Beginning session...
Some devices may take up to 2 minutes to respond.
Please be patient!
Session begun.
Downloading device's PIT file...
ERROR: Failed to send request to end PIT file transfer!
ERROR: Failed to download PIT file!
Ending session...
ERROR: Failed to send end session packet!
Releasing device interface...
Re-attaching kernel driver...
I have no idea what a PIT file is, and I don't know why it can't download it, but apparently this is an issue that a lot of Heimdall users are having. Any suggestions on how I can fix this? Will I have to wait until Heimdall gets upgraded?

Where's the thread? I'm a bit worried about trying to use beta software to install recovery. What happens if recovery gets corrupted or something?

I downloaded Rom Manager from the Google Store, and it says that it can install CWM Recovery for me. Is there any benefit to using Heimdall instead of Rom Manager?

Not sure honestly. Seeing as heimdall is an odin port, if you brick, heimdall is really your only option to fix it unless you can get to a windows computer. I personally am not sure about how compatible that app is since i have a locked bootloader and dont really mess with any of that, give it a shot though if you feel like it and let us know what happens for future refrence.

When you go to install CWM with Rom Manager, you first have to pick your phone model out of a list of supported devices. GS5 is not one of them, so I'm thinking I run the risk of bricking it this way. This is probably why whenever I search for ways to install CWM on GS5, Odin or Heimdall is recommended, not Rom Manager.
However, TWRP also has an installer available, and GS5 is supported. I don't have any experience with TWRP, though. I guess my best options are to either try to wrestle with Heimdall some more or install TWRP.

Same as my last post, havent used it so i wouldnt know. Also if you do softbrick youll need to get heimdall working or find a windows computer, which honestly, you can beat around the bush sith apps and stuff but at the end of the day i think youll need to use heimdall or odin.

I went through the TWRP installation with the installer from the Play store, installing the latest version of TWRP. Just as it got to the step for the actual installation, it crashed...
So, I try to reboot into recovery, and I'm greeted by these words: "RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING. Set Warranty Bit: recovery". My heart sinks, but then I see the Team Win splashscreen come up, and I'm in TWRP. I tap the Reboot button, and it boots back into Android. Everything seems to be fine, aside from the crash during installation and this mysterious error.
I'd like to install Cyanogen, but I prefer deciphering this error first. From what I've been reading, most of the people getting this error have bricked their phones. Maybe I just got lucky? What is this error, and should I worry about it?
I recently received a Samsung Galaxy S4 from my friend as my old phone broke. When i got it, i tried to go into recovery mode and it didn't work and ended up in going in a boot loop. Every time i try and go on recovery mode it says "movinand checksum confirmation fail", so last night i decided to run Odin and flash new firmware on the device and every time i tried to flash it, it says "There is no PIT partition", so i looked around for some pits and i tried flashing them with the firmware, by themselves and i even changed to 3 different cords and when i do it keeps saying "re-repartition operation failed". I have spent way to long on this and i need help!!!

Where did you get the stock ROM? You are flashing the ROM as a single file in the PDA/AP slot?

I tried two different stock ROMS, 1st from sammobile (it was a Optus Australia Rom for GT-I9505) PA and another rom for Samsung Galaxy S4 with BL,PA,CP,CSC and neither of them worked. Yes i used the PDA/PA spot on both Odin 3.07 and 3.12

Well shame nobody can help i need device fixed soon, to be able to contact my manger.
Honestly, I don't think anyone can help here. You want to have a tech look at it, but I believe the flash memory may have failed. It would explain both why you can't get into recovery as well as why you get errors saying there is no pit partition and re-partition failed in Odin.

If the flash memory failed, that would explain a lot, Thanks for your insight
Either the memory is damaged or the pit file is not correct, or both.
Jtag may be the only solution.

Could you provide me with a correct pit File for "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 Australia, Telstra"
And if that doesn't work i will learn about Jtag and try and perform it.
I'm not sure which pit would be correct as I don't have this phone. I am in Canada and this phone was not for sale here.

Well i have tried all available PITS file included here:
JFLTE_EUR_OPEN.pit
JFLTE_EUR_OPEN_16G.pit
9505.pit
CSB_signed_Fusion3_EUR_0325_V2.pit
None of them worked, so i don't know anymore might try a JTAG connection test (first time)
I get the exact same error in odin "there is no pit partition" when i try to flash Kitkat rom/ custom recovery/ root in odin.
Yeh, still haven't been able to fix my problem
hi.my phone was same problem.did you fixed your phone?
I've tried to flash combination file to my galaxy a40 with odin but it's giving me error ''re-partition operation failed''. I've tried with A405FNXXU3ATB1 and A405FNXXU3ATA1 files.
My firmware model number is A405FNXXU3BTG2. If someone could help me I would be so glad.

I just got into this recently and what I understood was that the combination file and the firmware should be identical. It is so hard to get matching files. Came here to ask if anyone could provide me. Don't no if it was any help.
Yeah I think that's true but I wasn't able to find any combination file that matches with that firmware. Maybe I just dump that phone because the time and effort it needs to get unlocked is way too much when mentioning what it's worth Just bought it from random romans and I didn't know about frp lock lol.
flashing combination ROM all newer Samsung devices will run into error "Please get the approval to use factory binary". you need to buy Etoken via Halabtech or bypass with similar service
