Yes i'm giving away my old Universal.
i'll even help with shipping
i've upgraded to the TOUCH HD, and want to leave my Uni to someone that could benefit.
the way i figure it, i've loved it since i had 3 years ago and if it wasn't for the hard work of the cookers who cracked the updates and even WinMo6, i would have been a lot less happy.
they're very responsible for a lot of the productivity and fun i've had along the way, which i've payed forward. now this is a little direct payback .
The forum members have been great support too, and this community has been a constant source that fuels the evolution of our Uni's.
Included is :
1) HTC Universal G3 (very good condition)
2) 2gb SD card
3) USB to Mini-USB (for data and charging)
4) Tomal's 8.2 ROM (excellent)
5) 2 stylus' (replacement for the original i wore out!)
6) replacement battery (bought 2008, 1600MaH. original wore out)

I'd like it to go to one of the cookers that may need an new/extra Uni for testing, so that it can help with their efforts in supporting the rest of the Uni lovers here.
if there are no takers from any of the cookers, i will happily leave it to anyone else that wants it
now, how do you get it? simple.
for ONE WEEK i invite any cookers to PM me or post here their interest here in a free Uni.
if no cookers want it, then i'll accept interest from anyone else that cares to have ask for it.

well i believe the small amount of money i could sell it for on Ebay (a few hundred dollars AU) and how i could invest that much money, compared to some that can actually use a free device for the greater good is no comparison for me.
there's an Ebay sale HERE where the person has a great offer for a complete Uni with accessories, for a reasonable price.
seriously the value of a few hundred bucks means little to me compared to the value of the device in the best hands.
think of it like:
*giving $300 to a starving stranded man on an island.....or giving him a $50 picnic hamper.
*or, a wealthy person giving $10 to someone in need, compared to a poor person giving $10 to someone even more in need.
there are many energy forms of value, depends who you're relating to and how. that much money in my life isn't worth much, those devices in other lives could mean a lot.
So there's no loss for me, i've already gained enormously from the device and i already have a replacement. i have an efficient upgrade.
someone can benefit a free device/s and gain enormously. an efficient upgrade too.

i'm glad there are people wanting the Nokia, i thought it would be difficult to find interest as it is a phone that not many people liked when it came out.

I would like to have your UNI, but reading the forums here I saw theseas's posts about being scammed by shakal007, so it seems he lost his UNI. I don't know, but maybe he could get a replacement by you If he wanted, of course....

Put it in bootloader mode. You can see small note at the bottom of the screen, if it starts from 1, then its G3. If it starts from 2, then its G4.

I just paid for my new HTC Touch HD I got on eBay last night and it should be shipped out from down under pretty soon. So, I guess that means HTC can now announce all of their cool next generation phones. At least that's how it usually works when I buy something high tech. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting it and going through the process of installing all the software onto it.

ebay is too expensive i just dont know shops in usa which accept paypal or visa virtuon

You can also do a direct bank transfer with these guys, and they gave me good service in the past. I know it's a bit more than you mentioned, but that's the going rate, unless you want to try marktplaats?

Yes. I've flashed Dutty's rom on it and I've downloaded some other programs I plan to add. I'm learning things as I go but so far I like everything except:
1 The screen goes black during a call. How do I get the screen back up? What if I have to "press one for English"? There's no keypad.
2 Whle trying to delete calls from teh call history I've accidently called people a few times.
3 While trying to install the ROM, which took about an hour, my wife was trying to call me to pick her up fom the metrorail station. She had to wait an hour since I don't have any other phone. Boy was she pissed.

Press the arrow button and the screen should come back on, then their's an option to display the keypad.

Didn't receive one here, but if I had, I would have no problem telling them what I really think about their locked bootloader policy, design flaws, etc.

100 bucks for an hour survey... I'd be all over that! ;p

unfortunatly, alot of people must of wanted to tell them what they thought of the Atrix, as I did the quick questions, and they stated that they already reached their quota for the survey..

got that yesterday, tried to get in, but as soon as i said i didn't have the laptop dock they said "thanks we're full".

Samsung did the same when I bought my Galaxy S, they even called me up for some more details about my answers.
And got the $ 6 weeks later

Dear Moto,
this is how you should be running your cellphone bizness:
unlock the damn bootloader
let them have the kernel source
the devs are willing to fix the mess you created with the blur crap
if you need to save money somewhere then fire the whole team that does blur, AND the guy that decided to lock up the bootloader / kernel
go ahead and make like 1 phone that runs win phone 7 so microsoft doesnt come after you a55
I guarentee you this will work, and don't forget to give me a job after.

Per my answers, they stated they reached their quota.. hopefully you can get in, maybe they didn't like that I didn't buy the laptop dock, as that was one of their questions, if I had the laptop dock..

Yeah right, I'm sure they just want feedback from people who are actually getting the "full" experience this phone can offer via the laptop dock. But for the people who just wanted a really good phone they don't care to hear about it. Makes me wonder, is there anyone with the "tethering" package getting capped as well? I don't remember anyone specifically pointing that out....

I also got this email, but got it on March 18th. Signed up right away but havent heard anything bacck yet.

I think that if every one that wanted one signed up for email notification then they will have enough phones but just to be helpful and safe I had friends that do not want the phone sign up so more would be available.

Email notification has nothing to do with how many they allocated for the initial release. They allocated the initial batch way before the signup page went up.

I am sure Google will have 50 allotted for us early adopters.

Personally, I don't think they'll have enough, to be honest, a lot of manufacturers usually struggle during the first batch. I don't think I've really seen a launch where they don't sell out. Hell, even when ASUS launched the Eee Pad Transformer Prime, I was the 6th person in line in Canada to get it through NCIX and they still managed to delay almost a month after the tablets started shipping worldwide before I got mine after I preordered it.

currently giving one invite away for the 64gb sandstone version (it's soon amazing )

I just got my phone 2 days ago and god I'm in love. The shipping took 5 days give or take and they did an over night shipping so it was priority mail and they send it at the last minute. I recommend charging the phone completely before even though turning it on but that's me. I woke up a little while ago to an email saying I have invites to give away. I have 3 invites currently but 2 are going to be given away based on 2 people I know and if they want the phone the third one is up for grabs. So I will find it away based on a first come first serve basis. And who knows I might give the other 2 I have away if my friends don't respond fast enough. So don't stop checking till I'm completely out. Which I will state somewhere on here.

Invite Sent. Have fun trust me you wont regret it Ive been testing my batter out yesterday and today and it lasted me the entire day yesterday and so far its lasted me today and i havent charged it since yesterday morning. Best part is its only at 24% and thats with every single radio on like bluetooth wifi gps data and so on even the brightness is on auto haha pretty crazy. Once android L comes out its gonna be even better because i was told the android L is going to be tweaking battery life and the way it works so we might be able to push the battery life on the phone for 2 days gonna be amazing haha Anyways enjoy
