Hello, I bought an SM-N910S bc it it listed to have ATT lte but I can not get it to pick up lte. Can anyone help?
You have to introduce the APN settings I guess.
I did. I tried *#0011# but couldnt get the menu up.
It is in the normal settings of the phone in the network part "name of the acces poitns".

I am really sorry to dissappoint you, but your phone is NOT compatible with AT&T LTE. None of the international Samsung phones support North America LTE (Bands 4, 13, & 17). 95% of AT&T's LTE network runs on LTE band 17 (700mhz) and your phone does not support that frequency. This means you will never get AT&T LTE on it. You should pick up HSPA+ which nowadays is performing faster than LTE in some areas. Looking at your certain model, it looks like you may pick up band 5 LTE, which AT&T has in VERY FEW areas.
For future reference, the only models that will pick up AT&T LTE are the AT&T model obviously, T-Mobile models, and Verizon. No international version has ever had support for North America LTE bands.
Here is the specs to your model and you can see nowhere does it support band 4 or 17 LTE.

The N910s isn't even coming up on Samsung.com for me. Probably because the device isn't a North American device. I'm telling you that an international device will not support AT&T band 17 LTE. Hopefully I'm wrong. Do you have any proof that the device you bought says it supports band 17 LTE? Not unlocked USA LTE. You want band 17 LTE.

MattMJB0188 is right. You are out of luck. The hardware doesn't support the ATT LTE bands. You should have searched the forums here first. This has been discussed before. Also, where on that site does it list band 17 (700) and 4 (1700) support? I couldn't find it.

Hmmmm. You picked up the Korean version of the Note 4? Can I ask why? I do see support for band 17. Was the device originally locked? Its possible AT&T may be blocking LTE on that model number I don't know. If the APN settings are right, then I'd make sure my account is provisioned for LTE (that matters with AT&T).
Just so you know, your device is lacking band 2 LTE and band 4 which AT&T is using in congested areas. Generally, this will give you a poor performance. For example when an AT&T device is using band 17 and it becomes congested it can easily switch to band 2. Your device will not.

Its only band 17 in my area. And i travel a lot to china, south korea, and Canada so i wanted the bands. It seems ATT is the only carrier that lte isnt working on that its suppose too

Did you give AT&T the imei of your note 4? If so, you won't get LTE. You can confirm this by putting the sim back in an ATT android LTE phone and testing LTE. It shouldn't get LTE either until you switch the imei back with AT&T.
No I did not. I believe its an sktelecom software add on.

Exactly. You have to supply AT&T with an IMEI number from one of their devices in order to get LTE to work. Just go to a store and jot down the IMEI on any of their LTE android devices. Then call customer service and have them provision your account.

If you have the correct APN, and your account is provisioned for one of their Android LTE devices, then I don't know. Its possible they could be blocking LTE from that device, given its a Korean phone. I don't know. Good luck.
My guess is they only unlock 3G bands and leave LTE locked. I'm going to dig farther

If S4 history repeats itself the ATT buyers will be stung with crappy locked bootloaders. Meanwhile the TMO device is pentaband and unlocked bootloader. Depending on battery life benchmarks the only sane decision is between TMO Note 3 and the international N3.

Not to hijack the thread but does anyone know which one would be compatible for Wind/Mobilcity (Aws Canadian Market)?
Note 3 from At&Tor T-Mobile... in the past I believe T-Mobile phones are compatible because of 1700 and 2100 frequencies... however due to T-Mobile refarming (I have limited knowledge about it) and new frequencies.... would an At&t note 3 be modified to work on aws

To my knowledge, the international Note 3 does not have LTE radios. It has an octacore instead of quad but thats the trade off.

There are two models: one is the octa-core with no LTE. The other is Snapdragon 800 with LTE. However, both will only get HSPA+ on AT&T (anywhere) and HSPA+ on T-Mobile (in refarmed areas). The international LTE model won't get US LTE because we don't use the same LTE bands as they do in Europe.
In the US, if you're on a GSM network the best model to get is the T-Mobile model, even if you're on AT&T. It works 100% with AT&T and T-Mobile (refarmed areas or not) and has an unlocked bootloader.

Do you know if the Tmobile Note 3 is pentaband (i.e., like the Nexus 4/5)? I'm planning to use it outside of the US and just need to know if it can get 3G in European countries.
A poster above mentioned that the Tmobile Note 3 version is pentaband, but googling for the answer to this has yielded no solid results.

Yes. 850/900/1800/1900 on EDGE, and 850/[900 isn't mentioned but I assume it's there]/1700/1900/2100 for HSPA+. It should work fine.

I have an N9005 note 3 and I'm using a T-mobile sim card. I can't get an LTE signal because t-mobile has a different frequency according to the customer service I spoke with.
Is there in any way that I can get an LTE signal from t-mobile?
I would highly appreciate any help.

I'm not sure if you got a definite answer on this, but surprisingly T-Mobile's service rep was actually correct. I'm shocked!!! Lol
You won't be able to get true LTE on that device with T-Mobile. The N9005 doesn't support LTE Band 4 which is what Tmo uses.

They're opening up band 12 in some markets. Not sure if the 9005 supports that one, but the n900t doesn't.

Hi Folks,
I thought I had found a gold-mine here in the United States in the H870DS because it has the quad-DAC and the bands look to be compatible with AT&T and T-mobile. The seller listed band 2 LTE and sadly, according to the box, it is not supported and this is one of AT&T's main bands in my area in California. It still has band 12/17, so, I figured I'd be okay. I cannot for the life of me get it to connect to any LTE though. I've checked and re-checked the APN settings, the network settings (4G preferred) and am out of ideas. Does anyone have this phone and have you successfully gotten it to connect to LTE in the United States? I don't have a T-mobile SIM anymore to try.

I believe AT&T SIMs have issues with LTE on non-AT&T devices until the device IMEI is added into their system.
I am not an AT&T user so I forget the specifics but people often have to call in and have the device IMEI added to their account.. or sometimes this happens automatically after a few hours.

I have searched some of the AT&T user forums, it is because different areas have different coverage and certain bands are not licensed properly, so you might not get any LTE signals. I do not know if that is true. But my G6 sure does not have LTE whatsoever.
Thanks for the replies guys. Well, I managed to pick up Band 4 when I walked down the street. I still cannot get 17/12 which is weird because it's the primary LTE band for AT&T. The bummer is that now that I know LTE is working, I can 100% confirm that LTE Band 2 is missing. The eBay listings are wrong and the XDA listing is wrong. I've attached a photo of the box. Oh well

I was interested in picking up an 870DS unit myself. I noticed the discrepancy when it comes to band 2. That had me worried, so I did not pick it up. The 870 DS box shows that band 2 is missing. I have to assume that is correct, so I did not buy.
Sorry to hear that i was thinking of picking up the Korean version myself but if I can't get reliable LTE on att no thanks. I wonder if you could return it to the seller since its technically false advertisement
Well this is unfortunate. I just got mine from Ebay today and was wondering why I couldn't get an LTE signal. The seller did list Band 2 so I'm hoping they will refund my purchase or there is a way to edit the radio.
Sorry for the off-topic question but could anyone tell if the H870DS would support 3G simultaneously on both radios (or 4G on one and 3G on the other simultaneously)? If so it would be worth mentioning here as well.

I am using T-Mobile SIM at SIM 1 and my home country carrier's SIM at SIM2.
It is getting LTE at SIM 1 and UMTS (roaming at AT&T network) at SIM 2.
Fi (T-mobile) is working perfectly for me, full LTE. Cricket (At&t) is hspa+ but no LTE.
For the price I am not unhappy even though I usually use cricket as my primary data sim. It's not what I expected but I knew going in I was shooting craps as there just wasn't a ton of information out for this H870DS variant. It's not a huge upgrade over 3t, just needed to switch it up for a while. I am quite enjoying the screen, camera, and HiFi dac without losing my 2 sim setup.
Edit: Sim one does have full LTE while Sim 2 does not.
The references definitely need to show that there is no B2, B17, or B30 for ATT users though, pretty much a let down there.

I actually got Band 4 to connect on AT&T, but it's pretty sparse and not reliable. I switched that line over to T-Mobile and it works perfectly just as you describe.
I like the phone a lot more than I thought I would. It feels so solidly constructed and the camera I really missed from the V20. I prefer this camera to the one on my S8 9 times out of 10. It's a hair slower to focus, but everything else is better for me.
What's odd is that on AT&T Band 12 is supposed to be compatible with Band 17. On T-Mobile, I connect to Band 12 just fine, but not on Cricket. Oh well, my Cricket line has been canceled anyhow

Does the LG G6 actually reveal the used channel and so the frequency band?
On many Android phones this information will show up after dialing *#*#4636#*#* and tapping "Phone Information" - on the very bottom of this screen you will find a list of available cells including their channel number (called EARFCN for LTE/4G, UARFCN for UMTS/3G and ARFCN for GSM/2G). You can then lookup to which frequency band the EARFCN/UARFCN/ARFCN belongs, e.g. at http://niviuk.free.fr/lte_band.php
Take a look at the 'LTE Discovery' app. The free version will probably have what you need.

I can confirm the lack of LTE on T-Mobile in Southern California as well. Very odd as others are reporting success getting LTE on TMO in other geographic locations. :crying:

As noted on the box as well as other first hand accounts, the H870DS does support both B4 and B12 required for T-Mobile. My G3 and my wife's previous 860N both connect(ed) with B4.
On top of this, I now have a solution to the problem via updating the APN settings. The magic change was simply adding ”xcap” to the APN Type setting and setting the Network Mode for SIM1 to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto radio button.

It's possible that if you're in an area where only T-Mobile B2 or ATT B30 is available then you wouldn't have LTE.
Was finally able to get 4G LTE in AZ on Band 4. Create a new APN with these settings and make sure network is GSM/CDMA/LTE Auto.
Edit: Also, I had AT&T update their system with the IMEI number of this 870DS that I'm using. That might have something to do with it. It took a couple of weeks too.
Has anyone heard if this model will work on Verizon? All other carriers suck in my area.
I highly doubt that it will, given that none of the previous models have been able to. From my understanding, GSM technology is faster and allows for better connectivity than CDMA networks like Verizon, which is why it is the only type supported by phones made in places other than North America. I could be wrong, but judging by the past I don't think it's very likely
Well they're trying to make this a global phone so if Verizon is CDMA:BC0 then it'll work as that's what it's listed to work on along with 33 others network bands.

No Band 13 = big problems for Verizon trying to get LTE working normally. It would work on the network I suppose but that is Verizon's main LTE band and also the only one that doesn't overlap with other carriers, like 2 and 4 do.

So this should work on sprint?
I put my Verizon Sim in my OP5 and it did get signal, but it showed 1x and right above it 3G. I did a quick speedtest and I was at about 1MB/s. I get around 70MB/s with my iPhone. So I guess the answer is that it does work, but it does not work well. I also don't know about MMS, I tried SMS and phone calls and that worked fine.
Will be tested on VZN as soon as mine arrives on Friday, if its not working on Verizon, I will be sending it right back to them.

It should function but it DOES NOT have band 13, which was mentioned in a few places now. Considering the price and the potential compromise, it's not worth it.

Why is it so hard to add band 13. You have all the rest on there. Idiots.
We Verizon users hate Verizon devices but i will not switch networks. If one plus wants to be a true flagship killer and sell a lot of phones, they should include all bands. Verizon is the biggest network out there.

I know from a fact that if you live in a fairly big city, band 13 is really not needed, down in ATL I am good with 2 and 4 on all devices. Tested on Mi Mix, which also lacks the band 13, but it has 2 and 4. Anyway I will let you all know on Friday.

yeah, I'm usually on band 4 here in my town, but when I'm in my office building, it does switch to band 13 since it needs that lower frequency to penetrate the building. So I'd imagine I wouldn't have signal or very weak signal in my office. But I'll try it, mine's set to arrive on Friday as well.

Yeah we will have to test, to be honest in the office I am on WiFi so not an issue, but then again are we going to have VoLTE, text and call is questionable.

yeah, I have wifi at work too, but I wouldn't receive calls or texts (does Verizon send calls/texts over wifi? I don't think they do unless the phone supports that option, which I doubt this one will).
I dont think so too, it will be interesting to find out. I am glad they are going the step forward to include more bands, but VZN strikes again. I am sure even if they added band 13, without VZN whitelisting their IMEIs, its still unusable. We will see.

I received my OP5 today, and decided to try my Verizon SIM just for kicks. I was expecting to connect to LTE on band 2 or 4 (both of which are available in my area), but unfortunately I was not able to connect to LTE at all. I connected to 3G fine and was able to use data, just no LTE. I tried adding the vzwinternet APN, and swapped it in SIM 1 and SIM 2, without luck. Has anyone had luck getting LTE on Verizon?
How is that even possible? It's a GSM only phone, no CDMA...
After an OTA, I got LTE.Speedtest shows about 15mbps for downloading

It has CDMA. but only one version of it I think, BC0 or something?

Really? What did you to do get it to work? Did you put it in SIM1 or SIM2? Did you add any APN settings? Did you activate it on Verizon or just swap the SIM?

I withdraw my statement. The signal drop to 3G within an hour. And never got LTE again. So as some people suggest that the LTE of Verizon won't work well on Oneplus 5.
Of course you wouldn't have LTE. Verizon use Band 13 which is not supported by the OP5. Here is a list of supported bands. 3G is the best you're going to get, if you want LTE switch to T-Mobile or AT&T they will work fine.
FDD LTE: Band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/29/30/66
TDD LTE: Band 38/39/40/41
TD-SCDMA: Band 34/39

Verizon doesn't only use band 13. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I live in an area where Verizon has LTE bands 2 and 4, yet neither work on the OP5 for some reason.
Been using it now for a couple days. Get decent service with Verizon. Switches between LTE and 3G. I also have a tmobs SIM. Been using tmobs for data which is mostly LTE. So between both service providers, I will hopefully have good service everywhere.

I think band 13 is the main one they use. You might get LTE but it will be slow

Band 2 and 4 are what they use for speed and capacity, you can easily get 100Mbps+ on either of these bands in many markets, but again you don't get any LTE on Verizon for some reason.

Probably cos there's no apn settings for that connection so the phone doesn't know how to access it, see if you can find out the apn settings for LTE on Verizon and add a new apn entry

As I mentioned in my first post, I did try manually setting the apn to vzwinternet and internet without any luck
