Sorry i'm kinda noob at this. i wanted to install a custom audio mod on my towelrooted S5. I'm not sure if installing mods will trigger knox. So my question is does installing of mod via odin/recovery trigger knox to 0x1?

Hi there
I have a 2 quick questions..
1. There is a stock & untouched ALMOST* AT ALL 4.3 rooted rom for i9500 with Knox Free?
2. Yesterday I've upgraded my i9500 to I9500XXUBMG9 and rooted to add the option to move apps to my external sd card. When I've entered to su root, it wrote me that knox is found and asked me if I want it to try to disable that.. Pressed on yes, and nothing happened. This made me wonder whether I have enabled knox or not.. Previously, I read that knox is enabled on 4.3 roms and not on 4.2.2 roms.. When I've entered to download mode, nothing mentioned about knox.. Am I safe or not?
thanks
Someone?
1. Only custom roms are Knox free. Maybe some prerooted stock roms with knox disabled, but you should check the development section for that.
2. If you don't get messages from Knox, then its ok.
Hello everyone. ive been searching these forums for quite a while and can safely conclude that theres no way for me (ATM) to root my note 3 without tripping knox.
i have a N9005 running the NC2 firmware, on 4.4.2
now i want to know is, if i flash a custom recovery and firmware ONLY, without flashing a custom ROM, can i still use KNOX (the app) ?
all i really want is root access, im quite happy with the ROM and performance ATM.
very sorry if this has been asked already, i couldnt find anything about it
thanks everyone

Any attempt to modify/temper the phone should render the Knox invalid thus Knox 0x1 as a flag that no Knox security warranty can be established on such devices.
Rooting is considered an attempt to modify the system.
So simple answer is No....
You root you can't use Knox app...
So guys, i got a little bit confused about knox 0x0 - 0x1 - root - custom roms etc.
I own a note 3, when it was with kitkat i've installed twrp through odin and got "knox 0x1 (1)" then i went with official lollipop firmware, and now i've reflashed twrp for installing cm12.1 getting knox 0x1 (2). From what i understand, there is no way to revert knox to 0x0, isn't it?
If i had a brand new note 3 with lollipop and knox 0x0 could I install custom roms without tripping it? or even get root permissions on the stock rom?
what also keep me confused is: why there are so many alert in the note 3 section on xda about tripping knox while in the s5/s6/note4 sections everything seems to be much easier? can you please explain me?
PS: execuse me if i've had not been so clear but english is not my first language
Nope, the device's virginity is lost, that baby is done, unless you have the Exynos version, where KNOX status could be reset
Thanks for answering. So i got a friend that would like to install the cm12.1 on his knox 0x0 N9005. will he trip it?
Not much idea mate. But I think there is a possibility that he might not trip it, at least I have seen something like that. Obviously the standard method of flashing a ROM via Odin or or from custom recovery will trip it, but I think there's a way to avoid that, not the usual way of course. You might ask to those who have already done it, or in the CM topic itself, if there is one.
Hey everyone,
I'm very tempted to flash a custom rom on my S8.
For that I'll obviously need to flash TWRP and trip Knox.
I know triggering Knox invalidates my warranty, but does it completely disable me from using Secure folder, OTA updates and some apps?
Suppose I want to use those again, flashing a non custom ROM would do the trick? Or the fact that Knox is tripped is enough for them not to work?
Thanks very much
Hello, maybe its just me, but Im not fully clear about rooting my phone. The thing is that I wouldnt loose my warranty, but Id use my loved root required features, such as viperaudio mod, etc.
So there are some methods already, but I dont know, if there any low effort root, or anything similar exist which not triggers knox counter If this method isnt exists, then is it possible to reset the counter after Ive flashed a custom rom / root?
Flashing an original firmware update with Odin will trigger the counter?
Thanks forwards for your help!

Root will trigger Knox. Some custom ROMs had Knox status set as 0x0 but it still has triggered the Knox fuse in reality. Triggering Knox will make you loose Samsung Pay for lifetime. But if you don't care about your warranty or Samsung pay then you could go ahead. There are thread showing you how to do so.
